  1. I'm going to suggest that you take a look at the excursions available and your own background and make a decision taking everything into account. I think the upcoming partial transits are all on bigger ships using the new locks. If there is a tour that does something for a while and then goes to a tour boat and goes back to meet the ship in Colon after passing through the original locks that would be a great option, especially if you've never been through the classic locks. I did the Embera Indian Shore Excursion from Panama City and it's a very nice tour. Not sure what other options there are but I'll suggest you look at all the possibilities individually. For me there's just no one size fits all answer. Roy
  2. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage cruise. On August 3 I was on Amtrak's Empire Builder crossing North Dakota. Roy

  4. That looks like pretty much a wrap. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and Carole. Roy
  5. Sadly, at the same time as Jewel appears so it won't be long. Roy
  6. Interesting perspective. In that view they seem to be nearly the same size. So far from the truth. Distance can be deceiving, Roy
  7. Appears to be starting the turn towards the dock. Roy
  8. For a change I can even see the tall pole. Roy
  9. With Star Breeze at anchor Noordam will not be able to turn in a loop today. Roy
  10. Just 1 day to Friday. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Tina, Dixie, and Ann. I'll pass on the IPA and after @aliaschief's recent dental experiences I'll pass on the watermelon as well. I will definitely grab some nuts today. For someone who didn't know where he was going or even where he had been Columbus certanly changed the world. I think many of the women who made history (Rosa Parks, Suffrage pioneers, etc.) were believed to be not well behaved. I have not been to the Philippines and will pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Lychees with Kiwi Wedges, Chilled Raspberry Soup, and Perfectly Grilled Breast of Chicken as served on MS Prinsendam August 3, 2011. Roy
  11. As Discovery Princess got closer QE did move and is now tendering. Roy
  12. So sorry to see so much bad news today for @mamaofami DH sam, @cruising sister' baby Murphy and Vanessa @JazzyV. Congratulations to @Seasick Sailor Joy, Allen, and Oliver. Roy
  13. Noisemakers arriving. I think this may be one of the last views: I was actually supposed to be on Nieuw Amsterdam today but cancelled after my January medical issues. I could have handled a single cruise but not the combination I had booked. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  14. With QE docked for now there's room for NA to make a wide swing: Roy
  15. I little bit shrouded in fog but clearly in the basin. Roy
  16. No travel sunrises for August 2. This was taken one year ago along the shores of a lake about 2 miles from my home: Roy
  17. After many calls from my TA to various bigwigs, my Voyage Personalizer now shows me disembarking in Quebec. I think they can now resell my Princess Grille cabin for October 6-13. Roy
  18. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Tina, and Dixie. I think National Night is actually the first Tuesday in August. I like Ice Cream Sandwiches but usually go with a cup or occasionally cone. CAD is a great leap forward, especially when a design is evolving. I wonder if plotting a ship's course on a digital map would be considered a form of CAD. Happy Birthday @lazey1! I do like the Harris quote but have not been to Skjolden. I'm not sure what the India transfer meant but hope it was for the best. I've been to India just once, back in 2010 on Queen Victoria. I'll pass on the potato salad. My alternative is Melange of Tropical Fruit, Chilled Peach and Ginger Soup and Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad as served on MS Prinsendam August 2, 2011. Roy
  19. I'm not convinced this is worth watching today with the rain. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  20. Today's sunrise is is from the start of my 2016 Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage trip. On August 1 I was on Amtrak's Cardinal approaching Chicago as the sun came up. Roy

  22. Strange that Westie is not updating on terrestial tracking. I think based on satellite tracking she is close to Grand Island. Roy
