I'm going to suggest that you take a look at the excursions available and your own background and make a decision taking everything into account. I think the upcoming partial transits are all on bigger ships using the new locks. If there is a tour that does something for a while and then goes to a tour boat and goes back to meet the ship in Colon after passing through the original locks that would be a great option, especially if you've never been through the classic locks. I did the Embera Indian Shore Excursion from Panama City and it's a very nice tour. Not sure what other options there are but I'll suggest you look at all the possibilities individually. For me there's just no one size fits all answer. Roy
