  1. Today's sunrise is from land rather than a trip with a cruise. It was taken at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico August 7, 2009: Roy

  3. Wow on "Baby" Camila. I pray that in 3 years we will have similar photos of Murphy. Roy
  4. i don't think Zaandam has aft balconies. It is all public space available to anyone. Roy
  5. Not to mention that Montreal is a fantastic city in it's own right Roy
  6. Happy Monday. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Tina, Dixie, and Ann for the Monday report. I have not been to Heraklion. I think Forgiveness and Friendship are a nice matched pair, and I love seeing lighthouses, most of which are majestic. I wonder if Sony really knew what that first transistor radio would lead to. I just love the Sandburg quote. No idea what the meal is. My alternative is Assorted Garden Greens, Marinated Pineapple Spears and Tagallatelle Verdi Alla Conti as served on MS Prinsendam August 7, 2011. If memory serves me I believe this is @Mr. Boston's first work day of retirement. Roy
  7. I just got an email from my Credit Card Company. My TA has processed my final payment for Rotterdam in November and it should be fully set to go. Roy
  8. For August 6 I have a sunset, rather than a sunrise. It is from August 6, 2016, taken from the Alaska Ferry Kennicott out of Bellingham Washington headed to Anchorage to meet Crystal Serenity for her Northwest Passage cruise. Roy

  10. Are you a Mets fan? I would have guessed either Orioles or Phillies. Roy
  11. Happy Sunday. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Tina, Ann, Dixie, and Graham. I especially appreciate Farm Workers, like Blues music, and know Hiroshima had a lot of benefits but was still a tragedy. I have not been to Hiroshima but got to Nagasaki in 2004. This date 1765 years ago was a very sad day. I like the quote but have been to Malta only once, Valetta in 2010. The meal sounds nice. My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Chilled Carrot and Orange Soup with Cumin, and Braised Lamb Shank. as served on MS Prinsendam August 6, 2011. But for my January medical issues this morning I would be disembarking Nieuw Amsterdam and heading towards Denali. Instead, I am on AV duty at church. It will be interesting as we have a guest preacher today so we will see how it works. May not get in much of a walk today as I will not leave the house for walking and church until the dryer stops working. Roy
  12. Awesome news for those with reservations on Symphony (and many others) Roy
  13. Looks like Symphony may be out for sea trials. Roy
  14. I can guarantee you NOBODY has been in a solo cabin on the Sypmhony at this time. Roy
  15. Happy Anniversary @cunnorl! Today's sunrise is from mu 2018 Grand Alaska-Panama trip. On August 5 MS Westerdam arrived at her destination of Vancouver. Roy

  17. Thank you for the Saturday Fleet Report Rich, and thank you to Vanessa, Tina, and Ann. I do like underwear but will pass on the beer and oysters. We should occasionally do things that scare us but every day? I think for most of us this day in 910 was a great milestone. I thought I had been to Hakodate but apparently not. I'm actually not a fan of dressings (I do like a plain salad) so will pass on the meal. My alternative is Sun Ripened Pineapple Delight, Minted Melon and Raspberry Soup, and Veal Chop with Creamy Porcini Sauce as served on MS Prinsendam August 5, 2011. I think something went wrong with today's report regarding to Nieuw Amsterdam. I was supposed to be onboard but cancelled after my January issues, and it SHOULD be at sea on the way to Whittier rather than several days late heading for Vancouver. A touch of fog in my area this morning. Roy
  18. A question for dailyites with Navy/Coast Guard ties. 2 sailors today were arrested for giving classified documents to China. Can someone tell me why the DA is doing this rather than it going to a Court Marshall? Roy
  19. And she's gone. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Have a great weekend. Roy
  20. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from my 2018 Grand Alaska.Panama trip and was taken from MS Westerdam in the Inland passage the final night before arriving in Vancouver. Roy

  22. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Tina, Dixie, and Ann for the TGIF Fleet Report and Daily. I'll pass on the first 2 of today's days but will try to enjoy a cookie today (maybe Oatmeal Raisin rather than Chocolate Chip) and 3 cheers for the US Coast Guard (and ALL Coast Guards), This was a very sad day in history in 1944. I find Vaughn's point of view quite interesting. I have not been to Bari and will pass on the fish. My alternative is Orange and Grapefruit Medley and Spaghetti Amatriciana as served on MS Prinsendam August 4, 2011. Off soon to take out trash, a walk in the mall, and then to Wegmans. Roy
  23. I ran into a hitch on this. My TA contacted Cunard to arrange permission to get off QM2 in Quebec and they resounded with a resounding "NO". After many calls and escalations on her part, it is finally approved ( would have thought Cunard would have been delighted to get rid of me on a non-refundable booking and resell the last days but strange things happen), It is finally done and I am paid and registered for October 5. Roy
