  3. Happy Sunday. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Tina, Dixie, Ann, and Graham. Happy Birthday Dennis and Congratulations John and Marie. I have not been to Mazatlan, am right handed, no middle children in my family, and don't have a garage. This was a sad day for the Aztec culture. I like the Picasso quote. @0106 I think the point of the air fryer is that it doesn't use oil and is healthier than regular fried food. Still, I'll pass on the taco. My alternative is Apple, Pear, and Cucumber Salad, Roasted Rack of Veal with Prosciutto and Sage, and Almnd and Orange Cake A La Mode as might have been served on SS Rotterdam V August 13, 1997. My church had it's Vacation Bible School last week and we will celebrate it this week. I am on AV duty today and expect the unexpected. Roy
  4. I have not given a tip at any time since Crystal went all inclusive. What I have done since then (and assume I still can with New Crystal) is make a donation to the crew welfare fund which supports crew activities, crew emergencies and I'm sure other things to benefit the dedicated crew. Roy
  5. I have a rather strange itinerary. I sail QM2 from New York to Quebec September 29 to October 6. I am also booked on Crystal Serenity October 5-13. Serentiy is in Quebec October 4 to 6 with turnaround on October 5 while QM2 is there October 5 to7 with turnaround October 6, and I am trying to figure out what my options are for making the transition. It looks like the larger ships are berthed at Pier 30 and Pier 22, not exactly adjacent. This would be my idea: October 5-- 1. Leave QM2 noonish with a large carryon and check into Serenity and getting my first lunch, then start setting up my Serenity cabin. 2. Return to QM2 for final packing and a final dinner with my wait staff. 3. After dinner put my large bag in the hallway to be collected by the luggage crew. 4. Head to Serenity for my first night. October 6-- 1. After breakfast go back to QM2 and pick up my big bag. 2. Final setup of my room on Serenity. Questions: 1. If necessary, am I allowed to take a large bag off QM2 the day before disembarkation? 2. If I spend the night off QM2 am I correct I cannot reboard on disembarkation day. 3. If I let the porters take my big bag off QM2 can I getting into the luggage hall to pick it up? 4. Does anyone know anything about a shuttle from Pier 30? Thanks Roy
  6. I think all the deck 7 rooms are subject to market conditions. All the solos were gone when I booked but I got a double for very close to the price for a solo anyway. @USC Adventurer I'm on Serenity October 5 or 6 from Quebec to New York. Roy
  7. Keith, do you remember these outlets are (from #1 to #4) are in the room? I was pleased to see #4 as I will be able to use one of my UK adapters from QM2 to get an outlet there. Roy
  8. I think that's still an open question, My recollection is that for the standard rooms they were only there for the NWP, possibly rented from one of the partners on that cruise. Roy
  9. I think I like that. I have a feeling with the reduced closet space the second bed will be occupied with an open suitcase holding folded clothes. I'm actually in a double room and hope the beds can be separated there as well. Roy
  10. Can you explain the Sandy connection. I have vivid memories as I was in New York awaiting boarding the Symphony when Sandy hit. Symphony rode out the storm in Boston and when the storm cleared the port was closed and Symphony went nonstop Boston to Charleston, leaving my resourceful TA scrambling to find me a way to get out of a paralyzed New York and on to Charleston. I know that voyage did not stop in Miami as it would have been a violation of PVSA and we went on to Los Angeles. Roy
  11. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Grand Alaska Panama trip, the Panama Canal section. On August 12 Crystal Symphony visited Cabo San Lucas" Roy

  13. Be careful with cancelling the insurance. Does the car still have license tags that would allow it to go on the street? I don't know Georgia law but in Maryland if a car is registered and has tags but not insurance a large fine is levied for each day until either insurance is restored or the tags are returned to the state. I doubt it would be worthwhile to sell a 21 year old car that doesn't run but is there a charity you could donate it to? Roy
  14. Thank you for the reports Rich, Vanessa, Dixie, Ann, and Tina. Happy Birthday Rich and Dennis, and Happy Anniversary John and Maria. Too much light here for me to see a meteor shower. I haven't had Kool-Aid in many years but will celebrate sewing machines and vinyl records. I've been to Boca da Valeria twice, both times on the Elegant Explorer. I love the Murakami quote. No idea what the meal is. My alternative is Sunset Salad, Lamb Shank, and Pineapple Crisp A La Mode which might have been my choices on the Grande Dame (Rotterdam V) August 12, 1997. Roy
  15. Looks like she's hidden already. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Have a great weekend. Roy
  16. Probably by the end of the next pan she'll be gone. Roy
  17. Should show up within the next couple of pans. Roy
  18. I think I see Quantum. Hopefully the camera will keep panning and not zoom in on Quantum. Roy
  19. Volendam has just completed her rendezvous with St. Peter at the Tracy Arm cutoff and is on the way to Juneau. Roy
  20. Complaining is fine, warning others to be prepared is fine; calling it discrimination is something else. Roy
  21. I did get there off the Crystal Serenity in 2014 on a cruise to Cape Town where I transferred to the Amsterdam, avoiding a LONG flight home. My notes say my tours were cancelled so I just walked around town a bit. The way out of the port was not pedestrian friendly but a Campanile Bell Tower was a nice landmark on the way out: Much like Manaus, there's quite a nice looking opera house. Near the center of town is the rather large Georges Park: At the entrance to St. Georges Park there's a memorial for WW1: Closer to the port there Fort Frederick, not a lot more now than ruins: It has a nice view of the harbor: Roy
  22. Today's sunrise is from mu 2011 Prinsendam Norway cruise. On August 11 we visited Bergen. Roy
