  1. Just a FYI for others, MSC will status match against non-cruise line travel loyalty-programs. They'll match to most hotel and airline status. Therefore if you only have mid-tier status on X but have top tier status with hilton, you should match with hilton
  2. Please consider posting your experiences whether they never replied at all or what they had to say
  3. Le Petite has always been on the Edge, at least since the restart and has always been on the Beyond. Part of the confusion is it takes over the dinner service at an existing specialty restaurant which may still serve regular lunch. On the Edge it's held in Le Grand Bristo and on the Millie its held in Qine
  4. Thanks again! Often WC's in Europe require a fee, did you find this to be case in Norway? Is there any reason to get local currency (we would like to avoid if possible)? I did read all the public buses accept a credit card
  5. With the WCs, It wasn't a major drydock for public spaces, the existing steakhouse and sports bar received a name change and minor facelift, the spa received a facelift, the gym received new equipment and the hull received the new color scheme
  6. Our last sailing last month was our first time in an IV. We decided to give it a try due to only have 2 sea days on an 8 nighter and it was in Europe so it was never super hot or humid like the Caribbean. Like most, we slot it between an OV and a traditional balcony. The pros are, it feels modern, we liked the one touch powered curtain (the window requires you hold the button until it's lowered or raised to your liking) and the extra space. I won't even beat a dead horse with the cons other than it felt strange to just sit there by the open window so we generally stood over it with out forearms leaning over. Thank to the mild weather, we had the window lowered fairly often while in the room
  7. That’s smart, save them from digging/rearranging your bag
  8. A benefit is on a whim you can show up to the MDR and order hopefully a good steak. Even if you want Murano, unless you're in a suite, good luck getting a same day reservation
  9. I for one have been a big proponent of offer better food for an upcharge assuming it didn't replace any complimentary items. This includes sticking to tiny spiny tail lobsters, I at least hope they're changing to Maine lobsters like RCI and Carnival
  10. For context, I’m 6’1, we comfortably sat on the porthole balcony chairs angled at roughly 45 degrees
  11. It absolutely does; we now know there is still free lobster if 7 or more nights despite someone claiming its "not on the menu" as they left out they're on a 6 nighter. What's left to "clear up" with the up charges? There are now upcharges, it sucks but it's pretty clear Also, it's important the post #55 author to understand why it wasn't on their sailing so he doesn't spread misinfo that free lobster is gone
  12. While it's not uncommon to use the term "Michelin Star/Starred Chef", Stars are actually awarded to the restaurant, not chefs. Therefore its either all or nothing, if you can call the executive chef a Michelin Star Chef you could call all sous chefs at that restaurant a michelin star chef
  13. I haven't seen it on at least my past three sailing, they claimed it was Wagyu but it looked terrible...Know how to class up meatloaf? Make 'em into meatballs
  14. Please confirm you're on a SIX night sailing as this will clear up everything...
  15. Have been thinking on the exact same lines as you...Found the answer in regards to post 55...There isn't free lobster on board their Equinox sailing right now because its a SIX nighter...Lobster should be on the very next sailing Jun 24th sailing as that's an 8 nighter
  16. When Starlink was first deployed, folks on the Beyond were posting speeds of 50+mbps. Now fleetwide, both Premium and Basic are throttled. Premium seems to be capped at around 5mbps and I'm not sure with basic. Additionally with Basic, assuming they haven't changed this, there are limitations. You cannot make native Wi-Fi phone calls (with your phone number) and with an iPhone, you can only send/receive texts from other iPhones. There are 3rd party work arounds such as whatapp, but you're SOL if you're expecting an important phone call or need two-factor authentication to access a site. Premium does not have these limitations
  17. Just a FYI, if it doesn’t have a blade/foil cutter you can carry it on
  18. So they have drug sniffing dogs, apparently living on board some ships/sailings but they let booze on no problem…ha ha
  19. Are folks carrying on booze, using the bags that go to the porters or both?
  20. Having hindsight, what would you recommend to do in the ports? Ship tours, DIY, etc
  21. Maybe we'll buy a couple of these motorized luggage 😅
  22. On board at Q&A sessions they claim it's 20% and who knows, perhaps they're including the slight energy savings of having the A/C off. With the RCI ships, you at least have a choice traditional balconies...On X, your choices are an IV, a dark porthole with a shallow balcony or an expensive SV
