  1. My WAG (Wild A$$ Guess) is the test based solely on whether there’s increased casino revenue or not and X could care less about passenger verbal/written feedback
  2. The 8 week tests are probably 100% based on casino revenue and not verbal/written passenger feedback
  3. Do you happen to know what the max is, I vaguely recall $1000 per transaction? If you wanted $5000 to use on the tables and don’t want to bring cash, is there a strategy with utilizing the slots to avoid the 3%? Worst case my credit card gives 3% back on travel
  4. If folks don't want to go here, think of it as a charter cruise. Would you prefer to not be on a chartered nudist cruise? Skip it...Same with cruises that go to Coco Cay
  5. Maine lobster is both sweeter and more tender than a Spiny
  6. Courtesy of AI / GPTChat: Oh, hear the tale of Celebrity Cruises grand, A gustatory delight, oh so unplanned! They set sail upon the deep blue sea, With double cheeseburgers, a culinary spree. But alas! The passengers cried in despair, As the tasteless burgers just weren't fair. After ten days of disappointing bites, The cruise line made a daring choice, alright! They gathered the chefs, with serious faces, Saying, "Farewell to these burger disgraces!" No more rubbery patties, dry as a bone, Double cheeseburgers, forever dethroned. The diners rejoiced, their taste buds set free, No longer subjected to such mediocrity. The ship sailed on, with culinary grace, No longer burdened by burgers so misplaced. Celebrity Cruises learned a lesson that day, That sometimes the tastiest treats must stray. For now, they'll seek new culinary thrills, And leave the double cheeseburgers on the hills. So farewell, tasteless patties, we say with glee, May your memory fade, like a distant sea. We'll remember this tale, with laughter and jest, As Celebrity Cruises sets sail for the best!
  7. Yes. Probably from Corporate to ship: "replace the double cheeseburger with something more premium"
  8. The overall point is its not necessarily cheaper for X or passengers to visit a private island vs a regular port. When visiting a RCG owned island, RCG needs to pay insurance, island workers, various island/attraction maintenance, "free" drinks from those who have the drink package, complimentary food, etc. Another dynamic is the weather, if its raining most of the day a ship visits, odds are passengers would spend even less. You then have a higher % older X passengers who do not have non-adult children who probably won't spend a dime during their visit Edit to add one more thing...What is possibly one of the biggest cash cows for the cruise line islands is the rate of appreciation of the island's value
  9. 1) I do not know, yet would imagine somewhere in writing would mention transfers if included 2) Yes, Blu, open for breakfast and dinner 3) Its okay, I was on her last summer and I didn't notice wear and tear yet she did have a dated décor IMO 4) You get spa access; treatments like massages are extra
  10. I posted an article in another thread...In the Bahamas at least, cruise lines pay more passenger taxes/fees to visit their private islands than if they went to a regular Bahaman port
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if they care less about verbal/written complaints, to them, "negative feedback" is defined by a drop in bookings
  12. Thanks for keeping your eyes on it; do you think it was replaced by anything or just outright cut? Wonder if one can still order it off-menu
  13. In addition to the passenger tax, The Bahamas will implement a $5 tourism environmental tax and a $2 tourism enhancement tax for each cruise passenger.
  14. It's absolutely real, however, some disingenuously cut too much...In this article it states food prices increased by 11% (I'm rounding), while of course there are exceptions yet if anything shrinks by at least 11%, they're taking advantage It's same thing as "green-washing"...Frontier airlines lowered their standard checked luggage weight from 50lbs to 40lbs, anything over 40lbs you pay the heavy fee...This below is seriously from Frontier and it's total BS because if they cared, they just wouldn't let any bags over 40lbs on:
  15. X has eroded on its own. There has been zero improvements since the restart with the exception of the e-muster and starlink, both of which most other cruise-line also did anyways. Food wise, no new items except for the infamous dinner double cheeseburger. When RCI and CCL implemented the second lobster tail fee, they upgraded from Spiny to Maine lobster. Not so on X, they charge the same fee and now with the fee-based premium selection, you still get the inferior Spiny tail lobster
  16. These "why couldn't we go to XYZ instead of a sea day?" is usually related to $$$ and/or port congestion
  17. So IF X changes the ship like it just did with the Beyond and the couple that booked with GC's elects to take the refund, they're just SOL?
  18. Like the extra lobster tail fee, the test menu will be the new fleetwide menu unless enough people complain about it
  19. Top 3, in order: Crew and Entertainment staff Starlink (while far from perfect, a huge upgrade over the previous internet) Muster 2.0
  20. Not the first time something was mentioned on CC only for things to change in a few months. Regardless, if nothing else, I’m sure someone from X management read your thread
  21. It WAS the contract we signed up for. Yes, we can stop booking future sailing but if you're already booked, you locked into that contact that allows X to make passenger unfriendly changes
