  1. As previously stated and validated by your link, there are days when RCI only has one ship in port…The original question remains, on days when there’s only one RCI ship in port, wouldn’t adding an X ship be better than having no ship at all? The island is already staffed by RCI anyways, if needed, it’s not that hard logically to add some X crew members
  2. I want to point out the card is pretty bad as you have to spend a lot to get the OBC bonus. You're far better off with other cards with one of the best without an annual fee the Citi Costco card although you do need an active membership. It offers 4% back on gas/EV charging, 3% back on travel/dining, 2% on costco purchases and 1% on everything else
  3. If one cares they can get the exact info on flyertalk. Good to know, in short, with AA if booking a discounted fare (for PE it's discounted fare code is "P") through a 3rd party like FBC, AA apparently let's you pick your seat but doesn't let you confirm you seats. Not sure if having status makes any difference
  4. Better tasting food would be the better solution; X did the staff-serve buffet and went back to self-serve so the best guess is we shouldn't expect to see that again
  5. Who even knows if X will follow the same revolution updates as a lot has happened since then
  6. Unless you’re in a suite or want to eat 830pm or later it can be quite a challenge unless the ship is greatly reduced in capacity
  7. Beyond is lengthened which adds more staterooms and therefore more passengers...So, things like the larger retreat, sunset bar and martini bar MAY feel as "crowded" as the slightly smaller Apex/Edge The biggest difference at the moment which could change once the Ascent starts to sail is how great the Beyond's crew is; you repeatedly hear this from passengers and social media content creators that the Edge/Apex crew is great but on the Beyond they take it whole new level
  8. 100% agree with this...I (rhetorically) asked earlier, during the days when there is only one RCI ship there for the day, wouldn't having an X ship also in port for the day be more profitable than no second ship at all? Clearly this is an entirely different scenario than X "stealing" a slot from RCI
  9. To add, this is exactly why companies like X use a 3rd party bidding service to handle the complex algorithms to extract the highest revenues
  10. 100% Celebrity needs to do better thoroughly explaining what the perks are and what the amenities are
  11. Here’s what I asked, this is what it came up with in five seconds: DaveKathy was a cruise fanatic, Sailing the seas, no need for panic, Their bags were packed, they were ready to go, To see new sights and put on a show. But DaveKathy was quite the jester, Making puns and jokes, never a rester, They'd tease the staff and make them grin, With laughter echoing from stem to fin. As they boarded the ship, they raised a toast, To adventure and fun, they loved the most, With drinks in hand and smiles so wide, They sailed away with the changing tide. But DaveKathy had a secret trick, To pull a prank, and make others tick, One night at dinner, they put on a wig, And pretended to be a famous bigwig. The waiters and guests were all amazed, As DaveKathy signed autographs unfazed, They laughed and joked, no one was spared, And memories of that night were forever shared. So if you see DaveKathy on your next cruise, Be ready for fun, and lots of good news, For they'll make you laugh, and leave you in stitches, And memories of that trip will be filled with riches.
  12. To combat this sinful food wasting, all X need to do is make great tasting food and so it gets eaten, not wasted…
  13. I believe the way it works is the price paid per stateroom doesn’t matter but what does matter is the room type you booked. So someone going from an inside to AQ would have a much higher minimum bid than someone going from a CC to AQ
  14. Three datapoints: The rides/experiences are not free. I can’t see more than 2% of a typical celebrity crowd willing to pay a fee to go down a tall waterslide. Yet that doesn’t explain why they aren’t sending celebrity ships to the island when there’s only one RCI ship there that day On RCI’s website, it states “CoCo Cay is exclusively for RCI guests” If you look at who purchased the island, it’s the parent company RCG To oversimplify it, it would seem celebrity leadership either didn’t care about coco cay in the first place, didn’t put up much of a fight to visit there or receives some sort of monetary benefit to have it remain exclusive to RCI
  15. New to me but valid; I just checked air Canada and the most they’ll charge is a $150 fee for a same day, $100 inside of 60 days, etc However, flights by X still will charge everyone a $200 change fee after final payment regardless if the airline charges you a change fee or not and ignores the airline fee amount
  16. Just pointing out either the website or the rep is wrong, based on past experiences it’s more likely the rep is wrong Not sure if this makes any difference, perhaps rules are different between US, Europe and Australia sailings
  17. Not entirely correct, Flights by X does charge a $200 fee but that’s their money, it’s not passed on to the airlines. Almost all airlines have eliminated change fees for regular coach and above (not “basic” fares, however)…Any 3rd party booking sites like flight by X can charge whatever fees they want. If one is a person who needs flexibility with flights, it’s probably best to book directly with the airlines
  18. The OP is pointing out you can apparently book a cabana for $0; on X’s site, it’s possible they won’t be able to checkout but if they can, one cabana will be held. The OP hasn’t said what their plan is, I’m speaking in general, perhaps all you need to check in is a number, perhaps the cabana staff do not check names against ages… If on X’s site one can checkout for $0, it’s clearly a glitch and some may try to take advantage of that
  19. Yes but only when it’s open during lunch hours; usually 1145am-115pm
  20. Even better if the infant’s name is the same as the parents
  21. Perhaps the phone works if it's been revolutionized, which COULD include the Millie, Summit, Silly and (the halfway revolutionized) Equinox
  22. Appearance can be misleading, just like the desserts at the Cafe...I wouldn't call them "bad", just below average and therefore not worth the calories
