  1. 🥸 I was a minor character in fifth grade in a play about St. George and the dragon. Was that narcissism? I have no idea how to reply so I'll use AI chatGPT...
  2. Officer gender aside, their real threat is automation as there are already several autonomous ships being trialed. At the moment the real threat are the higher salaried jobs. Lower paid manual laborers are safe from expensive robots at the moment...Also, this is a pretty fascinating story although you'll get the gist by just reading the title: https://www.yahoo.com/finance/m/513171ed-2187-3d3c-b457-1758cf6ee5fc/these-workers-claim-they.html
  3. Our parents didn’t understand you or I when we were growing up…”kids these days!”
  4. We typically attend the meet the capt/officer events that are held in the daytime, awaiting for a crewmember to take your order and then receiving your drink takes nearly an hour. I've heard many say for that reason they like the most bar policy. However, if X doubled the waitstaff, waiting could probably be reduced
  5. Celebrity...I would imagine it's just about impossible to ever get every person on a sailings to give permission
  6. If there's one common theme with X, it seems anything they've done to reduce staffing levels won't be coming back. Additionally, when things like this happened BEFORE the pandemic I can't see them ever bringing them back
  7. Truth be told, I see a "dress code violation" every meal, never seen any major enforcement other than making men remove their hats
  8. A top YTer, tony did a whole video on getting advanced permission on all his videos that happen on ships, he stated he always asks for permission in advance and specifically asks if anything is off limits. That video was in regards to him getting advanced permission on MSC yet having many MSC crew members telling him he cannot film I would imagine most of the bigger YTers are asking for permission when doing cruise news and/or reviews while on board. I'm sure some YTers do not ask for permission and there are also "influencers" who will take video while on the ship but the video content is about something entirely unrelated to cruising; most of those prob aren't asking for permission
  9. It just adds to the misinformation; as I was saying earlier, my vote would be for mods to simply edit the title to include the OPs original premise along with reflecting accurate info so something like "there is no longer the nightly event held in the lounge"
  10. I don't even see why there's any debate, you try to bring on 2 per person and you'll probably just get it on, worst case the xray tech will cite the outdated 2 per stateroom and you request they call a supervisor. That's all there is to it. Also, the WORST thing one can do is bring unwanted attention to yourself by talking to the XRay tech; be sure to resist the urge to ask them about the wine
  11. 100% agree...I could order a Bud Light at the Martini bar and start calling it the "Bud Light Bar" but no one would know what I'm talking about; making up a name adds additional unneeded confusion
  12. What does YOUR information say? When don't know WHEN this other passenger received this
  13. Would be dinner only @migdet71, with the buffet what was offered for dinner?
  14. Carry on two bottles per person and throw another two per person in your checked luggage. You should get the carried on wine no problem and MIGHT get the checked wine on but if not they simply return it to you on the last night
  15. Yes...Pre-cruise you pay a flat rate to fill the bag...If you pay on board while there could be a fill the bag special once per sailing, you pay per item and it's quite pricey to fill a bag
  16. Always seen two checkboxes, one for regular and the other for Express which has an additional surcharge
  17. Just pointing out the stateroom in the video appears to be very close to yours but one deck down
  18. Nope, X has always been stuck in the stone ages; have to call and ask...At least currently there aren't two hour wait times during that last mass offer
  19. If it's an online request form, unless there's been a recent IT change, it won't display the rates...You have to call unfortunately
  20. Received a deal two months ago, ironically it requests your CC number and even provides it in the email (I covered mine). Of the many BCC emails I received, it has not given or mentioned your BCC number
  21. To be clear, the official rule is if you can carry on two bottles per person. If you bring on more, such as put some in your checked luggage they may just make it on but if they get taken you get them back on the last night
  22. While I do see children on every X sailing and they're generally not disruptive as they can on more kid friendly RCI/CCL, I haven't noticed We already knew Guys burgers, the BBQ, big chicken and the chocolate melting cake were great but the MDR food surprised me
  23. Entertainment is a biggie, while most of the time there's a solo/duet playing music somewhere, it will usually be older and softer music. Other than that you generally only have one show option per night which is one show at 7pm and it's repeated at 9pm and between the two there's a 8pm passenger participation game-show. If the main 7/9pm show is a comedian, that will be the only time they'll typical be a comedian on the ship. This is a bit different than CCL/RCI who have their own dedicated main show, dedicate comedian venue, dedicated piano bar, dedicated karaoke, etc. In another words, on CCL/RCI you have a choice of going to four different types of venues in the same night. X is also lacking on daytime shows, at best there could a speaker doing a 45min talk
  24. I would imagine its a very small number of ports, I've been to I'd guess 30 ports which is mostly the Caribbean and can only recall two ports, Nassau and Key West, that require an ID
