Is this problem with the MTD more in the larger, new ships? I have not cruised on those larger ships, but I remember that MTD in the Voyager class ships worked well.

Let’s hope not. 😤 I have read an article about a young waitress so disappointed that Europeans were not tipping enough in USA, that in her naivety, she DEMANDED that USA does not allow Europeans to visit USA. Go figure…why people in those type of jobs do not DEMAND a fair payment from their employers?

I appreciate the effort of your daughter. I am sorry and I wish her a successful ending of her studies. Many of us had to work hard to continue with our education and to reach our goals. Some got a scholarship, some move to a country in which tuitions are not extremely high and others have studied and worked at the same time. To expect that with our tips we are responsible for the education or livelihoods of others is somehow naive. People need well paid jobs and not to be begging for tips. Ivi

No. It is ridiculous to think someone deserves a tip for handing a beer or serving a glass of wine. Bartenders at home earn good wages with all benefits and are not waiting for people to pay them their wages via tipping. The problem is the cultural mentality surrounding tipping in USA, which allows employers to pass their responsibility to customers. But some of you seem to believe that you are doing everything right by perpetuating this culture. I have read that some people are tipping at self check counters or at robots 🤔

How was embarkation in Miami? Which Terminal is Crystal using? How do we know which terminal will be for our cruise? Does the information come with the ticket? Ivi

Talking about insanity, I wonder what state of mind can make someone draw this conclusion out of my post. I have not implied what you state.

I have never seen so many negative comments on the quality of food on other cruise lines, i know food is subjective, but the issues being described here show poor quality in the ingredients and preparation of food. Unfortunately companies like Royal Caribbean seem to not have a way of receiving feedback through this forums. Who ever is responsible for the food and beverage department at headquarters should receive the critics of real cruisers and find the way to improve what is being described. The same applies for other areas like the MTD. Are evaluations still being requested at the end of the cruise? I would be able to experience by myself on my next cruise. I will still go open minded and not rush to book the UDP (incurring on more costs) to compensate for a poor included dining experience. We will see …At the end, fortunately if a cruise line does not meet the expectations (for me those are measured in terms of price-value relationship) there are plenty of options who might meet those expectations.

One of my favorite foods at lunch time is protein with a salad. I have just seen a recommendation from the Points Guy to never eat a salad out of the salad buffets on cruise ships. Apparently they are standing too long and the way that cruisers use the spoons to serve themselves is not very hygienic. The recommendation is only to eat salads at the MDR or when a crew member is behind the salad bar serving everyone. 😔

When I made the reservations it has only given me the possibility of making reservations for dinner at Tastes, not for lunch. I actually wanted it for lunch on port days. I don’t know if it does not have a limit of visits. I guess it doesn’t. Anyhow, I would prefer the Waterside instead of Tastes for dinner. The sample menu on the web page is not something that would motivate me to eat there more than once. Ivi

For the specialty restaurants we are able to book at the moment one each for Umi Uma, Osteria d’Ovidio and Tastes. I understand however, that we can eat twice on each Restaurant because it is a 13 night cruise. When shall we make the reservations for the second visits to the specialty restaurants? Ivi
