  1. We've just finished an Iceland cruise on Silhouette and there was a karaoke night in the Sky Lounge, quite popular performed with the live band, good fun evening.
  2. We have also seen the Magic Carpet hibernate on deck 15 (Edge), used as tender dock on 2 and dining location on deck 5 (Beyond) on chic nights. as well as its usual location on deck 14. If there is a restricted view I imagine it will be for suite guests on deck 6 looking at its roof while on deck 5.
  3. Currently on Silhouette Iceland Cruise. jwlane comments still accurate, no HH in Sky lounge, hasn't been for ages. Hardly anyone in formal wear on Chic nights but just very smart clothes. Over 90% full and the service and food everywhere is very good.
  4. We are currently on the Silhouette, the ship is over 90% full and the service everywhere has frankly been excellent. We were on the Beyond "Maiden" voyage and the service was about the same, certainly not better.
  5. Again, wait till you are on board, can't be stressed enough, Bleu Cheese is on tomorrow night along with Beef Wellington etc.
  6. We are currently on board Silhouette (Iceland Cruise) the app works perfectly when on board, on this cruise there are three chic nights and lobster is on tomorrow night. The menus have been accurate every night.
  7. Don't expect anything sensible from the app until you have completed check in.
  8. It maybe that proof of vaccination status will only be required when boarding (as it is now anyway) and uploading to the app is dropped as it had too many issues for many.
  9. Taken from Cowes, Celebrity Eclipse manoeuvring around Bramble Bank leaving Southampton. A dangerous obstacle that ships often run aground on.
  10. You missed the point, which was to challenge your repeated assertion that the room remains a comfortable temperature with the window open and the bifold doors closed. In climates where the outside climate is way over 30 degrees C and high humidity (as it so often is) in the med this is not true. I'm ambivalent about the IV but there will be many who don't find these issues as insignificant as you do. You do however point out the screamingly obvious about closing the window and curtains to keep the room cool. BUT, when you close the curtains in a conventional cabin, what do you still have that you don't have in an IV, thats right, you still have a large balcony separate from the room which some people may enjoy and find significant. In an IV its not even an ocean view it's an inside cabin and can be for much of the afternoon/evening.
  11. Not always true, it very much depends on the ambient temperature outside the cabin and the angle of the sun, as I explained in the previous topic I referred to in post #46. The cabin can become like a greenhouse extremely quickly and the only way to stop this is to block out the sun which you can only do when the window is shut. The inner bi-fold doors do not stop the cabin overheating they act like a greenhouse. Differing climate conditions explain why some people have no trouble with the IV and some do, as I said. With a conventional balcony this is not an issue.
  12. Century is of course now Marella Explorer 2 pictured here in Mykonos
  13. A fairly old picture but a favourite of mine, Celebrity Century in Flam.
