  1. The Martini Bar area on the Beyond is vastly improved over Edge/Apex and is more like S class ships with all round access. As already said the Sunset Bar is also better with a better layout and more shaded areas. The cabanas face inwards towards the pool rather than out to the Magic Carpet.
  2. Well lets agree to disagree, I think more of the OP's quote tells a different story.
  3. Well fortunately, a lot of M and S class ships are also in Europe this season.
  4. Not sure but the $500 offered by Celebrity should cover our cancellation/amendment costs.
  5. Again, they are suggestions that include, many of the other cruises can also be chosen not just the three "suggested".
  6. Yes, they return every season to the seas where they were born.
  7. Agreed, our last three cruises were on Beyond, Silhouette and Eclipse and I have never seen the behaviour referred to.
  8. Selective editing a quote is never a good idea if you miss out the line before which said drinking all day starting with shots in the morning, this may have contributed to barely able to stand.
  9. It happens. We have witnessed it on several occasions. Passengers are supposed to be on board 30 mins before departure, if they're not several ship wide announcements are made for them to report to guest services just to double check they have not "snuck" on board. The purser will go to theircabin to double check, remove their passports from the safe (if there) and take them to an officer on the gangway. The ship has often waited a short while but if the passengers don't return we have seen the officer hand the passports over to the port agent at the gangway. Not the luggage though.
  10. Sadly I have to partially agree with this. On our March cruise on Eclipse Oceanview food was up to normal standards for breakfast and lunch. Not so much the quality of food in the MDR but the choices were really quite poor. Starters were mostly soups or green leaves, no crab cakes or spring rolls for example. Not much beef either, for example no beef wellington on final formal night, fortunately we like chicken. It was the only cruise where we felt a drop in standards, just because the choices were so limited.
  11. It will suffice just for reference if needed. We have never been asked for any form of ID in any of the countries you are visiting and just take a photocopy which just happens to be always in a backpack. In Dubrovnik once they did need original ID to even leave the port but they may have changed. The ship will always strongly advise multiple times if an original is required.
  12. It's a suggestion of an alternative cruise with two stops in Japan, it does not say it's a round trip of Japan. I assume people may research a trip before accepting it. Also I suspect the suggestions may be different for different cancelled cruises in other peoples emails.
  13. On the Edge pre Covid it was held in The Club.
  14. I can't comment on Bermuda but despite being warned multiple times on ship wide announcements and in the daily sheets on our recent Eclipse cruise in New Zealand, there were still a few passengers who did not take their original (I stress original) passport with them. They were not allowed to proceed to the ship but put on the naughty step and made to wait until a border force agent could escort them to the ship for verification. In Dubrovnik you could not even leave the port without an original ID. People get used to just wandering of the ship, in Europe for example, where just the seapass card will do but there are many countries world wide where you cannot do this.
  15. Oops, apologies, yes you're right, slip of the memory, the difference is clear, it was actually Napier. Port Chalmers Napier
  16. Both Northern Aurora and I responded to your posts in this thread. https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2927009-does-anyone-know-what-the-interpretation-of-this-requirement-is-very-confusing/#comment-65102146
  17. What vital info is cut off ? Are you printing direct from the web site or a downloaded pdf file of your cruise docs ?
