We have stayed in cabins outside of YC proper and they are included in YC and receive all benefits. These included Executive Suites and Duplex Suites .When booking , first look for Yacht Club Category. You may have to keep clicking on arrow on right side to get to Yacht Club. There you will find the selection of cabins included in YC and receive those benefits. They may or may not be in the YC enclave depending on the ship. Aurea Category has Suites but they do not included YC benefits.

phissy replied to morpheusofthesea's topic in MSC Cruises
I always stash a few cans of the Choco Nuts in my carry tote. DH loves those and they are no longer provided onboard. 😏 -
No, you get the upgrade and keep promotions of original booking. Enjoy MSC.

Just how much of a problem ARE interlopers in the YC?
phissy replied to mafig's topic in MSC Cruises
There was also a time when NCL included DSC along with the drinks package for Haven Guests. -
Today is the day!!! 😁 Sailing on the Seaside

I feel like I should comment on one of,the perks mentioned above. Ability to change dates multiple times- This seems to be a verbal promise, not policy. It has been reported here on CC that others who booked onboard and were told they could reschedule multiple times , were denied . MSC did not allow them to change beyond the 1 change/ 90 day contract YC policy. Confirmation from someone onboard would help clear this up. Can you get it in writing before putting down deposit? -

I love how some make up rules or policies and think if they state them with "authority" that it makes it reasonable. Unfortunately, I would break out laughing if I heard this .Then, I would probably answer with, "you are hilarious, wrong but, hilarious." -

Just how much of a problem ARE interlopers in the YC?

When we had to deal with interlopers in YC, we were not being uppity at all. The attitude came from self righteous outsiders, trying to bully us. We came up to pool deck and went to our reserved cabana. We were very surprised to see a couple enjoying the accommodations. I asked them to please leave as this was reserved for our use. The outrage and profanity was pretty shocking. “ who are you to tell us we cannot stay…we were here first..you are @*#&. You both go and @#$!. (Fill in the blanks). We were shocked. As older, retired couple this was not what we expected from YC guests. I asked pool attendants what we should do, they called Concierge. He came up and said they are not YC and had them escorted out. They were drunk and yelling at everyone. When others feel they are entitled to what you paid extra for at no consequence to them, that is the issue we in YC have with this behavior.- 344 replies

Does MSC have an Excursions Office that can be reached with questions?
phissy replied to Bluewake's topic in MSC Cruises
My experience with MSC excursions before sailing is pretty mediocre. TA was not able to get information we requested… As far as the cruise listed by OP, we have done this cruise. Panama was a big shock for those who wanted to go into town, Heavy police presence with not many shops open. Many came right back onboard. Some took the excursion that buses you to see the canal . Very long ride with police escort. Late return and exhausted from many hours on bus. One passenger who was from there said she would not get off ship because that port area is very dangerous. It’s a shame, it looks like, they were in the process of developing a very nice area there but it shut down with Covid. NCL will no longer use that hotel or port for embarkations for a cruise. -
On Meraviglia, there are only 3 cabanas in YC pool area. 2 reserved for RS. On our last B2B , there was a group of travel agents that set up area around their cabana like an office. No one in the group were in RS. They put up banner with company name and had loud music , drinks and trinkets for guests from YC who wandered by. Very annoying with the addition of cigar smoke on top of this. I asked if they could go to smoking area…..and you guessed it….I got a lecture that they are VIP’s with MSC and they are entitled to behave as such. I had Concierge move us to Cabana furthest away from them for the remainder of cruise. Others must have complained because next day, YC Director came and informed them that they needed to remove signage, music and promotion of their services.

NCL Joy Haven 7/1/23 compare to MSC Yacht club 7/9/23
phissy replied to Donoilman's topic in MSC Cruises
I always suspected this as well. Our last MSC cruise was on Divina. Our Butler from Meraviglia cruises was now on Divina. He greeted us at YC embarkation lounge and wondered why we had not booked RS as we usually did. Only reason…. . We wanted to try Executive Suite. Divina has no cabanas or a Jacuzzi on RS balcony . He was disappointed , as he was assigned to RS on the ship . We had him as our Butler for last 3 Meraviglia cruises. We did chat with him during our cruise and catch up on his family news. -
Shuttle buses in Juneau are free . Just long lines first thing in the morning, afternoon many crew members going ashore for shopping. Getting back to ship, lines not a big issue.

Jules, I know! - we were also shocked when our clothes came back. At first, just in disbelief at what I found. We were in YC, and I asked Butler if it is normally the case that laundry is returned stuffed back in paperbag. I remember hangers and nicely folded pants etc. NCL returned laundry in basket wrapped with tissue paper. I took pics of damage, then decided it was not worth my time or energy so, just tossed them. Someone posted that we should take older t shirts and underwear and just toss instead of laundering .🤣 we have used MSC laundry package before with excellent results. We usually do longer cruises or B2B. We also have status with NCL and get free laundry with cruise. They do a great job. I do like the idea of writing instructions like warm wash , warm dry or line dry.
