  2. MSC is not very good at following through with Voyager club points. Some have had no issue. First cruise with MSC, points deposited as promised. Next 2 cruises in November , YC. Just one deposit of 1500. This was during double points for Caribbean cruises last fall. 7 nt and 8 nt cruise, B2B. Emailed several times, finally gave up. Decided not worth the effort. Not sure how many points above Diamond are really necessary.
  3. Funny how much we have in common. We were on POA on the last cruise before dry dock. The “upgrade fairy” contacted us a week before cruise and we got upgraded to Owners Suite. Great suite . We definitely enjoyed the hot tub on balcony on that cruise. Terrible Concierge. He decided no lunch served in Suite restaurant or room service available during port days. Everyday was a port day. When I questioned this, told, “ POA is unique. my ship, my decisions.” I headed up the M&G for CC. Hotel Director asked me for meetings during week. This is when I found out NCL was changing to Nespresso in Suites. We had a few insightful chats. Our next MSC cruise on Divina is in Executive Suite. 12004 , corner facing OC. I know there is no accessible balcony but, it has lots of space. . I do like having two rooms. We realized on Meraviglia, in the Caribbean, we spent all our time up on pool deck or lounge. Really did not use balcony, as hot tub non functional most of the time. lounge chairs have no view due to the metal railing. Hopefully cruising will continue on track and we can have a few more years enjoying seeing the world.
  4. Yes, we were in 15008. Great view of OC, which is why we chose it. Praveen and Rakeesh worked in our cabin. Both were very good. Pretty sure you did not break it more. I think you are right, very finicky system. The color of the water was very strange each time they thought it was fixed. We did enjoy using it on our 2019 cruise in Mediterranean. Worked great then. Next cruise is on Divina in October. New ship for us, so should be fun. Happy cruising.
  5. 🤫 Shhhh! We are still trying to keep this a “secret”. 😉
  6. We were on Meraviglia for 18 days in November. We had repair men daily , coming through our suite to repair the hot tub. Expected better experience in Royal Suite but, the cabana was great. We just avoided our cabin during the day as the parade of workers tried to figure out why it did not work. toward the end of cruise, it was proclaimed to be fixed. Tried it one evening and it was in good working order 😉 After a couple glasses of champagne, almost fell asleep in the tub.
  7. As far as discounts, you should have received 5% discount for your Gold, not including port taxes and fees. Landslide, MSC is very frustrating to deal with. HUCA is the way to go. Onboard, it is a different experience, which is why we sail with them.
  8. We sailed first week of May. Bliss to Alaska. We were advised that they would not be doing these on our cruise. We did not inquire directly but were at CruiseNext desk to get our new pins. At that time we were told that were not doing it . She also told us she was putting $50 OBC into our account to compensate for this. Nice she was so proactive.
  9. For us, it is the larger bathroom . Specifically, the great shower.
  10. You can log into your MSC account and see cruise reservation. Click on Cruise details, top bar cruise options displayed, second from left. Your cruise is listed , cabin selected and experience selected. Below that is OBC’s listed. Looks like this, with each name listed . Shipboard credit 50 Eur/Usd - 40 Gbp

  12. Our kids also got to the stage where they did not want to be seen with us, when we traveled together. Now, they are married and talk about how much fun they had on our cruises and vacations.🙄 Duplex looks great. We can no longer do stairs so, have not tried it. You will enjoy your hot tub on your deck and aft views. This is the only cabin , in YC, that has 2 bathrooms. Your daughter will enjoy the pizza and pastas. Can be made to order. She can order milkshakes from bar up on pool deck. Late breakfast and lunch buffet offered on pool deck are very nice. Afternoons, they brought around small cups of gelato for YC guests to sample. Also, free access to thermal spa. Meraviglia has an amazing spa area . Free to use for all of you throughout cruise. Massages are extra. We have stayed in Royal Suite. Nice space and deck but, as mentioned, only 1 bathroom . Our next MSC cruise will be on Divina , in an Executive Suite. Interesting if we will miss having access to a balcony. We are on corner facing Ocean Cay, so views will be nice. Again, largest cabin on the ship but , 1 bathroom. Last cruise on MSC was Meraviglia, in Caribbean. We found we spent all our time up on pool deck , in our cabana. You will enjoy your cruise. Staff very nice and helpful.
  13. Flight attendants do not handle luggage. Porters can still be found at airport and at the port. We tip porters at dock very well. This is one absolute as they make sure we are taken to correct check in and taxi lines right away. When we were disembarking Meraviglia, in Barcelona, our concierge had junior butlers take our luggage all the way outside to our waiting car service. They were tipped well also. I think they just wanted to get off ship, even for just a few moments.
  14. We have also sailed both. Just returned from Bliss to Alaska on NCL in Haven. Haven experience not up to par. Haven restaurant had inconsistent quality . Very obvious that some items were prepared several days ago and over the hill. When we disembarked the cruise, Concierge still had no idea who we were. We are Sapphire on NCL. We mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary to both our Butler and Steward. Nothing was ever said or done during entire cruise regarding this. In 2019, we had a lovely bottle of wine delivered to our cabin. This time, nada. Last cruise on MSC, YC was November. Great experience. Drinks are superior to NCL. Food in YC restaurant is new menu each day. Butler, Junior butler and Concierge were very good. Speciality restaurants very good with both cruise lines. You should give it a go.
  15. You will love the bathroom and shower in this suite. Having two bathrooms makes such a difference. Looks like you are under the steam rooms so should be pretty quite. Have a great time in Alaska. We just returned from there.
  16. We have sailed both NCL Havens and MSC Meraviglia YC. We did Thanksgiving on Meraviglia and people dressed nicer for that dinner. Definitely no formal wear. The dress code mentioned was for their European cruises. Now that MSC has hit American market, attire is less formal for evenings. Those who want to go formal do anyway. Not the expectation. We prefer MSC to NCL for their YC product. Restaurant superior, with new daily menu. NCL Haven has same everyday. We did Haven this month and found that we missed how wonderful the meals were in YC Meraviglia last November. Also, MSC drinks in YC much better than NCL. Christmas will be a busy time. Plan on full capacity in YC.
  17. Yes it is. Unless speciality restaurant like La Cocina turns on heaters in the outdoor space. We just did May Alaska sailing and all outdoor restaurant spaces closed. We have always sailed in late September. Then, it is also cold and outdoor would not work unless heaters are employed.
  18. It is fine for carry on or checked. If you are concerned about luggage getting misplaced, put tests in carry on. You do not need to worry about amount of liquid. Do not remove from test or open box. Total amount of liquids is 3 oz for carry on, I no longer separate them for US travel. In Europe, LHR does require removal of liquids ( they give you a bag) for security screening. Includes toothpaste, lotion etc.
  19. This was EXACTLY my response to the question. 🙄 We are still waiting for points to post from November cruise. Gave up on sending emails. Not worth the effort.
  20. For our sailing, first week of May, Jersey Boys cancelled due to “technical difficulties “. In the middle of performance, main performer ran off stage during number. Noro onboard then. Complaints from Haven guests were answered with “must be motion sickness from ship movement”.
  21. Current prices for shuttle buses higher than I thought. Pacific Northwest Transportation Services is pleased to provide service between the Ogden Point Terminal and downtown Victoria. This shuttle runs for every ship call, and runs a minimum of every 15 minutes. The shuttle tickets are sold at the following 2022 rates: Pass for the day: $13.00 USD (unlimited use for the day) Oneway pass: $8.00 USD (valid for a one-way pass, either direction) Crew: $5.00 USD (crew card required
  22. Answering your questions. 1. MSC will take some time to get your cruise info posted. You will learn to navigate site, which is clunky. Also, be aware, that your deposit is non refundable for YC. Yes, MSC will still try to upsell you for items you already have in YC. Just ignore. 2. Answered in previous post. One addition. You get complementary access to Thermal Spa area. I really enjoyed this when we did first cruise. With Covid, perhaps they will limit rooms available. 3. kids will do fine. They will probably enjoy going out of YC to main pool area with other kids and sports. 4. More European passengers but, we enjoyed this. Proper afternoon tea in YC lounge . Lots of good food. Enjoy.
  23. Welcome to the world of MSC. We have sailed both NCL and MSC. MSC can be very frustrating to deal with landslide. Once onboard, it is wonderful. NCL is good with landslide issues but, we were disappointed with onboard experience. Items in reservation not followed through onboard. We have done 3 cruises with MSC, one in the Mediterranean. Last was in November, Caribbean. Just returned from NCL Haven cruise to Alaska, Bliss. We are Sapphire with NCL, so lots of cruises. Hard not to compare Haven to YC while onboard. We felt that food, menus, drinks were much better on MSC. NCL seems to be in the mode of reducing costs.
  24. I would add that shuttle buses at the port of Victoria cost money. Only port that requires passengers pay for shuttle ( so far) It is $10 pp for the shuttle bus to town, includes return. We did not go into town as we have been many times before. As mentioned, it took so long to clear ship that it was dark when passengers were able to disembark. I ran into passengers on elevator very upset that they were not informed buses cost money. They were not able to go to town as they did not bring money. Not sure if it is still cash only but, from their reaction it sounds like it is. Not mentioned in our daily for Victoria. I think NCL should publish that the buses are not complementary and the fare is $10pp .
