  1. Agree on the confusion of the word "reserve" when a restaurant is involved. It sounds more elitist and up-scale to call this class "Reserve", rather than "Club" I suppose. They probably never considered the consequences at HQ. It can take a while for newbies to understand everything important about Princess and how it works.
  2. That is not right at all. Who was demanding money? EZAir is a self-serve webpage within the Cruise Personalizer and when making flight changes, it either refunds or collects the difference. I have NEVER seen that process attempt to collect 100% of a new fare quote.
  3. In my experience, prices often change up and down when shopping in EZAir - particularly for overseas. From some limited checking and mostly from posted anecdotes, I wouldn't expect to be saving much on air for domestic travel to FLL or other US ports. In this case, I think the only advantage of EZAir is that changes and cancellations are free until 45 days out.
  4. They want to be able to drive around - not just go from airport to port. I suppose you may realize this and thinking perhaps they are not really going anywhere much outside the hotel. My presumption is with three days planned, they have plans.
  5. What's this this thing called non-refundable OBC? Don't think I have ever had such a balance left over. I have heard of OBC being spent before the hubby got unpacked (it was a joke --- I think).
  6. Or Octordle. ETA: You can play all three (Wordle, Quordle, & Octordle) on a cell phone if you have Medallion Net. Had to get the phone in there somehow ... 😉
  7. Did you use the Cruise Personalizer to shop for flights on your own? There is no need to call Princess. You can cancel your own flight booking. Also, EZAir is not going to match an airline price - they have their own prices. They may have sold out the seats they have at their original price. You didn't say if flying to FLL/MIA or overseas. Only three months out roughly. I cannot say for certain, but seems to me it won't take until after the voyage to get the airfare refund. Even so, is the savings worth the wait?
  8. This is the sort of off-topic amusing story I don't mind seeing sometimes.
  9. I agree that other lines are charging more, but I am not in a position to comment on relative value. I was simply documenting what PCL did with SD pricing. As for AI packages, I recognize that they comprise a different value proposition for each guest. For me, the value is not there.
  10. Same as served in CG. Plate comes from there.
  11. Yes, we all know to trust the Princess App implicitly. 😉
  12. IDK about the changes for SD locales. The competition for a table may rival getting a Sanctuary lounger in the winter on a Caribbean voyage. Perhaps if I want a better steak, I will just order it in the MDR (hopefully, they will keep that option available). Lot less hassle and so what if I miss the CG dessert choices?
  13. It's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel to find conflicting or out-of-date info on Princess.com.
  14. Same as with DMW. If PCL HQ ever launched anything correctly, I'd fall over in dead faint.
  15. The same percentage tip was already baked in with the previous pricing scheme. PCL has whacked us with two recent price increases. First, upped the price with grat still included, and then kept the new price sans grat and adding it on top. I suppose it lets them advertise a lower entry price, but not the final price you pay. So, it becomes misleading to the uninformed until seeing the small print on the menu. SD locales like CG now almost double the pre-pandemic rate. Inflation hurts.
  16. And it can be quite noisy in CG when music is just outside entrance. I guess someone would have to ask the DRO or F&B Mgr.
  17. Seems odd to me if they are only taking 12 people as before why they wouldn't use the special spot in the DR in lieu of taking up space in the CG.
  18. There is a difference in using SD credits on a booking to reserves in advance versus using OBC in advance. The former should be possible (save for system bugs) and the latter is not allowed.
  19. Your note reads like a fit to me. Note on "rock" music. Which era? What style? I have heard/seen various bands and music I would call rock on the ships. Not sure why @skynight felt otherwise. Princess has tended to push a lot of entertainment in to the piazza and the sound level can get quite loud and "boomy" at times. There are lots of audience participation entertainment and games. You can find quiet areas as well. Princess crew are great. You never need a suit if not your thing.
  20. Wine is - or at least should be - treated differently than spirit alcohol. Wine is allowed to remain with the guest and either assess corkage fee at boarding point desk or when brought to a DR.
  21. Agree because the concept or idea behind TD is that the guest is at the same table with the same waiter(s) at the same time each day. Of course - traditionally (hee hee) - guests will often take a break from their usual TD res to dine at a Specialty locale or even head to the buffet due to perhaps not able to make their usual time. I don't see TD as a bounce around situation among Walk-Up and booking a random res time. Most certainly, guests should notify their waiter or a DR Host if they are going to miss a night and the DR host/mgr can seat a walk-up there so as to maximize table usage. What I am saying is, it is contrary to common courtesy to hold a TD res every day and not use it. If booking using DMW App, any pre-existing res should be canceled by the system. When they look up a guest who comes as a walk-up, one might think they would look up the cabin nbr or name in the system and cancel any other living booking for that night.
  22. Guests who are going to ignore/shun the Princess technology and App on board will have to deal with Guest Services or venue managers to handle matters. At least this seems the default situation to me.
