  1. Has anyone got a CVP or higher up at PCL to explain exactly WHY they changed the booking system to prevent guests from booking Deluxe Balconies that can hold up to three people when the typical majority guest is booking for two? I agree with the insanity term in some posts above. No matter that a CVP or TA can accomplish it, it is just plain stupid. They are also doing the workaround in some manner in POLAR to get it done. I think it was documented that it also affects Minis???
  2. True enough, but with good planning, we are normally going to go for the small group experience for better tour experience and better value. Chances are pretty low for a catastrophic event and both examples given so far in this thread have been in that nature. I know it isn't for everyone, but we will continue to go independent where it makes sense.
  3. Sorry, but this story sounds like the reverse to me. A small group in a van would not likely have had the breakdown (low probability) and been out of options.
  4. Hope you are not losing sleep over this mystery. It will get solved one day!
  5. You are wrong above. Platinums and Elites always get (and got) the 50% discount whether purchased on board or in advance. It used to be cheaper to book it in advance, but the new pricing is identical for advance purchase or on board.
  6. There is a budget level. So, if there was top-shelf in a mini-bottle, you wouldn't get it. But they probably don't even have it. I can equate with beer. I swap all 10 alcohol for preferred beer label(s). I have been able to get some beer that is more cost on the menus than the base included beer. I have been told on a previous ship that I needed to pick from certain labels and not just anything on the menu. Ask nicely and see what happens. They will be able to inform you of available and eligible choices. I swap all our non-alcohol for Perrier - generally.
  7. Were they any better than the Drop 'N' Go's?
  8. If you booked a SD and decided to cancel it on board, should be no issue to keep "your table" or another one in the MDR. Let them know ASAP - it won't be a problem if you have also arranged to be at the same table with same waiters each night.
  9. Don't go to a SD restaurant on a random evening and expect to get in. It could happen, but rarer now with more guests having comped meals. You would want to make a res as soon as convenient after boarding the ship. As for DMW, you can try the web version of the Princess App and see how that goes. Many posters here report better success than with the phone app version.
  10. Yes, gratuity has been built into all these prices. But could be added on top going forward with yet another price increase.
  11. This is Sunday. You need to call on a weekday. Be prepared for lines to be extra busy on a Monday
  12. I view that as different because it was an evolutionary thing coming. TBH, I don't recall how far in advance thry touted it. They certainly touted the Medallion and technology, but not sp sure how far in advance of June 7, 2021, they pumped the App.
  13. Have you re-priced your flight in EZAir to see if price has changed much at all? Otherwise, flights can be preserved and shifted to a new booking. You need a CVP or good res agent to do this and not the overseas call center. Call in and select book a new cruise option from phone tree option list.
  14. If PCL were to issue a PR notice... and it could be doubtful... it would come when a new App is released. Another "if" there. They wouldn't want to acknowledge the existing App needs major overhaul. Also, IMO, a lot of the root cause of issues is bad or corrupt data and a flashy new App won't fix that on its own.
  15. Gotcha, but it could still vary depending on supplies. I always call RS with a custom order.
  16. I don't see that happen much at all. A disclaimer statement could be placed at the top of the table noting that actual ship names are XXXX PRINCESS and shortened in column 1 for convenience.
  17. Looks nice food. I hate it when they think they have to bury a bottle of wine in an ice bucket. It is not supposed to be chilled like beer.
  18. It's space-saving for the table/chart. We all know the correct name. I don't see a problem with the short-form choice. Maybe we should use the two character ship code and really confuse folks.
  19. They're not giving anything away of real value. It's mostly a gimmick to get you into the store and shopping.
  20. Don't think it matters in terms of Rum - I have yet to hear of that being included. No Brandy either - like @Thrak mentioned - regular Brandy. Cognac is a specialized Brandy. Depends what one means as Brandy covers a family of liquors/liqueurs.
  21. It's a Future Cruise Deposit - FCD. You might want to consider just paying the deposit for the short cruise since you don't get much back in OBC and save it for the more expensive one (presumably longer). Sure, you can wait and buy new FCD (you can buy multiple) and put off booking 2025. Thing is, you may miss out on the lowest fare for this future more expensive one. I'd book it now and watch for any price drops to refare and just pay cash deposit for the short cruise.
  22. USD from all European ports. Only AU departures are in other currency.
