  1. You are fretting over standard boilerplate text that is not customized when a guest used a FCD. I'd be satisfied with your two fellow UK citizens who posted that all you lose is the FCD.
  2. To update this list Do not push the "Quote" button. (It creates a copy that the next person cannot properly update). Instead: Find the most recent post with the list. Select and copy all of the text in that post except the change notes. (from To update this list up to <Copy to this line . . .>) Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the "Reply to this topic..." box. Paste your copied text into that box to create a new post. Make your modifications to the list. Add change notes at the bottom. Click the Submit Reply button just below your new post. Confirm that everything is correct! You can edit for up to 20 minutes. 3. @CalTexCruiser, would you have an estimate of the seating capacity? Are some guests standing? Thanks.
  4. That was my impression from last Spring. I think I'd want to just drop in for a minute just to get the rep to make a Sanctuary res. LOL.
  5. Thanks for the info. I suppose when the request goes, you could request a location given past familiarity and give them a couple of ideal choices where you want to be. Sounds like a text message is sent and not a conversation.
  6. Agree. I'd be using it for certain if I booked suites. If for nothing else than to nail Sanctuary space and not have to be first on board race through the ship to get there.
  7. Look, the thing is that you and I may not be interested in the desserts, or the classes, but some folks are. It is up to THEM to decide what has value for them. Not for us who book Standard to argue that they are wasting money. For them, they are not wasting money as they are using at least sufficient of the included items to cover the cost. Most certainly, the Medallion Net is not something everyone can do without. IMO, posters should respond to inquiries about packages with what the a la carte costs are and encourage them to do a bit of math to decide the best option for them. I think most people do this. I will leave it Princess marketing to try and convince people to go package.
  8. DMW was released in June, 2021. However, functionality was quite flaky and they did not release all DR's for all voyages initially. Actually, it seems they are often holding back 1/3 DR's even today. I have no idea of DR capacities per ship. I might have seen someone(s) post some numbers from a ship that perhaps came from a MD/DRO. I am unaware of any reduced capacity by retro-fitting ships. In fact, the RC ships have a number of locations where they stack a row of 2-tops with almost no room in between. DR Staff can combine many 2-tops into a 4-top or split them. From my observations of posts over the past year or so, I would say that some ships are dealing with DMW better than others. Also, I think there are inexperienced guests who either leave things late or don't thoroughly understand the App functions and limitations. The DR Hosts have an on-board version of DMW which gives them a lot of control over bookings and such. It has much more functionality than we guests have. It may be a computerized version of the old DR seating charts that the MD used to use. In my observation, it is not the DRO using the App - it is the younger set (the Hosts) or perhaps a DR Mgr. DMW has limitations that can frustrate guests. It requires person-to-person requests if you want particular location. Otherwise, if okay to sit anywhere, much easier to deal with. Also, DMW can never block guests who want to share together at the same table.
  9. As mentioned in post #4, it seems guests are being sent emails about the event. It's also mentioned on the website I think. It seems a lot of folks don't investigate much before their vacation.
  10. I believe I have read that not all ships have smoothies - although that seems dumb to me. Also, the T&C does exclude fresh juices. So, I am assuming that includes fresh squeeze OJ in the DR and not just the juice bar. Will be interesting if you get a different answer.
  11. Did you notice if many guests participated? Recent reports indicate a fairly low percentage dress in the gold and white combo or singly.
  12. Interesting. They have also done one FN and one DTI (Dress To Impress) night on some voyages in the past year. It could be that PCL Is slowly turtling their way to phasing out the recommended dress for FN, but of course guests are welcome to dress formally any night they desire.
  13. The Medallion allows you to get tokens from a machine in each laundry room. Cost is $3.00 per token. A token does either a wash cycle or a dry cycle. You decide how many tokens to order. If Elite you *might* be able to get some tokens free from GS desk. There is no need to dress formally any longer if that is your preference. What you describe is perfectly fine. I will leave the last question to those who have done the tour.
  14. I have seen a chart of all the SD locales with cost and the amount of gratuity baked in. The percentage varies a little bit. Cannot recall where exactly. I think CG and Sabi's were 17%. I think it was accessible under Food & Dining page, but I don't see it any longer. (I also notice PCL has removed the old DineMyWay info with a link to document and FAQ's. It was in there that they explained DMW and also that guest could still have TD experience).
  15. All the SD type special events have gratuity baked in. So do the regular SD restaurants.
  16. Isn't that what I said? But, to be precise, all other Princess gifted OBC is Non-Ref. I believe some guests get OBC from their TA in lieu of a cash discount on cruise fare and that is Ref. Also, if guest purchases OBC, it is Ref.
  17. The fridge is empty unless one is Elite or in a Suite. (Possibly an ice bucket is in there).
  18. Any ship I have been on during NFL season always had the 1pm and 4pm games. Might not be your preference, but there is a game. Others might be in the casino, but no sound.
  19. And if this doesn't work, try the deck plan on video screens or "how to get there" in the App. Or ask a crew member in bar services or restaurant services.
  20. SOBC was always Non-Ref. MOBC used to be Ref, but no longer.
  21. If you cancelled in time, the refund should have gone back to your CC (eventually). It could be the ship still recorded the credit paid to your cabin folio and then they scooped it back? Just guessing without all the information. You need to call Princess.
