  1. The procedure of signing was the norm in October ( 1st October) my fellow travel companions (friends on drinks package) were' presented a chit to sign 'at the end' of the evenings in the Commodore bar.
  2. Depends on how old or infirm the male is , otherwise , why not make all 'Evenings' a sense of occasion with your fellow guests. QM2 Transatlantic voyages ( unlike a cruise) tend to attract a more sophisticated dressy crowd in the evenings.
  3. May be off topic , however, I do have to smile at this thread. I'm sitting here ( having just enjoyed a late traditional Sunday Roast) listening to the TV news ( on a certain channel) The topic this evenings is, a well known branch of coffee shops and three London restaurants 'here in the UK' have just had to 'reduce' their 'Vegan menu options', apparently the focus of meat & fish are slowly back on their menu. 🤔
  4. Cunard Line already caters very well for you , in addition to the Vegetarian & Vegan options that appear 'every evening on the Standard Menu', one just needs to peruse the 'additional complete Vegetarian/Vegan menu' available on request .
  5. I expect signing for a drink on a drinks package is not for the benefit of the guest , rather it's for the F&B accounts department to keep a track on the amount of alcohol used .
  6. Re Grills Lounge deck 7 : gumshoe958 you are at complete liberty to look into the Grills Lounge throughout the day, no one will challenge you for taking photos of carpets or new soft furnishing etc.
  7. I can confirm most public venues on QM2 have been re carpeted - The Grills lounge has finally had a 'complete soft furnishing' make over . New Carpets and seating in the Commodore, New Carpets in G32 and also new carpets in the Queens Room. I understand all staterooms will have carpets refreshed over the next several months There are several photos on 'various fb cruise forums' - maybe bluemarble or Solent Richard could oblige and post some of them here for our members.
  8. That's an understatement 😅 It was deliberate in the original design, possibly by some goon at art school. There was a story floating around at the time that several senior management at head office were horrified , however, it was too late as it had been signed off .
  9. 'Within reason', all depends on what you are requesting, just the same as in the Britannia Restaurant . A couple of weeks ago ( October) I requested the possibility of Escargot - the next evening it was served to me discreetly. Interestingly escargot, later appeared on the Britannia evening menu on the last gala evening .
  10. She is, It will be referred to as 'Bright Lights Society' . This venue 'replaces' what we often referred to as The Yacht club - an after hours venue.
  11. Just seen the new carpets on the corridors ! wonderful and such an improvement. 👏👏 Now on various cruise forums - if anyone can help posting the photo/s on here
  12. I already have Queen Anne Maiden - (and previously Queen Victoria) I'm prepared for what could be a shakedown cruise in terms of the delivery of the onboard service, however, I'm more interested in what the various public venues have to offer .
  13. You probably don't sail on it as often as I do 😅
  14. Please, please, tell me those awful corridor carpets will have been replaced - photo's please 🤞
  15. And that was me ! I see I haven't been able to convince you they'll be collector items in a couple of years, you should be passing them onto your family. I noticed Cunard Diamond Pins at £50 on eBay the other week 😅
  16. Interesting original post , I have been reliably informed from onboard voyage sales , although there are no single staterooms on Queen Anne , Solo Traveler prices will be available ( on certain itineraries ) sounds in line with Silversea who offer the same, Hopefully the QA solo traveler prices will also apply to residents of the UK.
  17. It appears from the 'original post' Their Crew ( and a Snr crew member) ignore the problem too . 🤦‍♂️
  18. And that is the correct way 👍 Cunard have signage to this affect in the vicinity of the water dispensers. P&O need to get their act together on this subject .
  19. It's just been announced approx 9th November on a fb cruise forum - The source is a well known TA/cruise specialist known to many of us on here. "Seabourn will 'shortly' no longer be providing Auto assigned check-in times" .
  20. That was during the first several months when Cunard retuned back to regular service during the Pandemic . The same in the Britannia restaurant too.
  21. Yes and in my opinion it worked well the other week on Q.Vic , much better than wifi I've ever experienced before. In fact much better than my experience in 2022 on Silversea which had only just introduced a couple of weeks before I boarded - or maybe that was because it was Fjords cruise ?
  22. Do have to smile at this , the room service menu on the Q.Victoria indicated 2pm, ( 1st October) however, after telephoning for a couple of light snacks etc ( some which incurred a charge) as our party of three thought we'd have a stressful afternoon on the balcony and enjoy the weather enjoying our brought on Vino & Fizz - Room service replied - "Room service will be available immediately after safety drills - the actual crew drill took place at 4pm as usual . 🤷‍♂️
  23. After the 'CREW' Safety drill, usually late afternoon early evening. I'm referring to Home Ports Southampton /Brooklyn. Embarkation in some of the ports 'often en route' on an itinerary are not usually affected . Hope this helps .
  24. Indeed, Baggage Masters & Baggage room facilities - yes those were the happy days, well before 9/11.
  25. I understand that, however, occasionally a crew member in the Bell Boy livery is sometimes seen in the arrival lounge for escorting a QG guest. As happened to me in 2015 & 2017 suite 10 001 QM2.
