  1. The only time this announcement is made is on embarkation day. We've seen way too many people just sitting there taking up table space even though it's obvious their done dining and just waiting for the cabins to open. I actually at times appreciate the announcement...Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter to many as they just ignore it.
  2. Many years of cruising with RCI and a few years ago we became only WJ diners. Have absolutely enjoyed this year so far on Navigator, Explorer, Jewel, Serenade and by far the best was Harmony. Luckily my DH feels the same and so did our extended family on the two cruises we took them on this year.
  3. We did a Mexican Riviera cruise this past January and a Panama Canal cruise this past month and couldn't have felt safer walking in Puerta Vallarta, Cabo, Mazatlan and Hutalco.
  4. Layers...it might be warmer than you think during the day and cool evenings.
  5. Make sure you opt for self assist if you book an early flight ...Carrying off your own luggage and hopping into a taxi should be easy to do an 11:00am flight or even a bit earlier based on what flights are available to you. This is an easy port/airport.
  6. We have used Cruise Control...a great shuttle option. 888 416-8830.
  7. Look at what RCI ships are sailing out of Florida during your timeframe several of them are. You could easily do Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Port Canaveral...or even Tampa depending on where you'll be. Personally I would do one of the larger ships like Harmony. Enjoy whatever you decide.
  8. Recently on Serenade with young grandkids...There is a small slide into a water feature behind AO on deck #12. Not a lot for young kids to do but their AO is available. I would opt for Explorer.
  9. Our DD lives in Calabasas and very surprised at the low price you got from there to the San Pedro port using Uber.
  10. The oasis class is too large to dock at Havensight. This class must dock at Crown Bay that used to be a submarine dock. RCI has a contract to use CB...so if Mariner docked at Havensight there must have been a reason for this.
  11. Depending on itinerary but we've had guest lectures on some of our RCI itineraries this year. Some we've made it to and some were a bit to early for us.
  12. HaHa...RCI doing things so you don't get "confused"...that's new
  13. Interesting. So this ship pulls up along side the RCI ship and you transfer to it much like a tender and it then returns you ?? Perhaps this has never been offered on our Northbound or roundtrip Vancouver itineraries..Thanks for your info.
  14. Hmmm....We I believe were talking specifically about RCI not Celebrity ! There's the confusion !!!! You and latebuyer have interjected Celebrity into a conversation about RCI and the OP question about Brilliance.
  15. Very interesting...thanks...good to know... Certainly never saw a small boat doing this off our ship while we were at the Hubbard Glacier on the 5 of our visits there.
  16. Climate Change is making what used to be a guess now. OP book either and take your chance...regardless this itinerary will be beautiful. We've sailed the first week a couple years ago and will be sailing again Oct 5th-14th, 2023 out of Cape Liberty on RCI.
  17. Would love to see the link for this itinerary...and details of the excursion and how it's done...thanks Could this excursion actually be offered at the port in Juneau rather than off the ship directly ??? That could be the confusion.
  18. Thanks Patty...but RCI does not offer this for Hubbard Glacier and never has on any of the itineraries we've done with them to Alaska. Even though Royal Caribbean Cruise Group owns X there are many differences.
  19. Glad you're booked but you would have loved the amenities at Banks...included drinks (open bar serve yourself) and the breakfast (cooked to order by an amazing chef) were great. Enjoy your trip.
  20. We have at many times gotten our new SeaPass card the day before at the consecutive cruiser meeting....and an-in-transit card to make reboarding easier where you can avoid the lines of regular embarking passengers..there will be signs or ask for exact info at your meeting.
  21. For our stay pre-cruise this past July we had booked the Banks Mansion as soon as the bookings opened ( I believe it was a little less than a year out) and had what we considered a great rate....especially when I saw how much the rates jumped up a few months before our arrival. Loved this hotel and location.
  22. If you need a recommendation for a hotel in Amsterdam we stayed at the Banks Mansion this past July and loved the hotel and location. Enjoy !!!
  23. We did a great itinerary ... Ireland, Iceland & Scotland with Celebrity and looking at doing the British Isles with Celebrity or RCI will check out Princess also...thanks.
  24. Hmmm. I've sailed the Alaska itinerary 5 times with RCI which included Hubbard and have never seen an excursion...so info please? And ... no...not everyone missed the beautiful scenery during sail in/out...our extended family group certainly didn't....and neither did the crowds out on the helipad and the upper decks.
