  1. 100% this... As mentioned above, many people on board are there because it is a special celebration of something and that will tend to limit what the cruise-line may do to 'recognize' your celebration, although high status and suite never hurts, but aside from that take control of your own destiny on this one...
  2. ... and you'll have to pay the difference between the gratuities included for your original cabin grade, and those due on the suite, and you don't get the extra Captain's Club points for the suite, you retain the points for your original reservation.
  3. In the circumstances, there really isn't anything you could reasonably ask for. They will happily sell you a Spa package at the normal price, and that is all you could expect. The Aqua cabins are designed not to be 'family friendly' intentionally, hence the lack of connecting cabins.
  4. It is always on a 'space available' basis, so it is entirely within the policy for the Maître d' to politely decline a request at the door, but if one was wise they would approach the Maître d' earlier in the day to see when it might be possible and I am sure in most cases that would work.
  5. Wouldn’t be the first time the Plan My Cruise descriptions have been inaccurate lately… Check the text at the bottom of this page, it seems to be more up to date generally. https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/dining-packages
  6. No, once they are gone they are gone until someone cancels or occasionally they manage to add additional capacity, but there is nothing held back for onboard booking.
  7. Take a look at Premium Economy on Qantas, not quite business but a lot less expensive and way better than coach... https://www.qantas.com/gb/en/qantas-experience/travel-classes/premium-economy.html
  8. The message here is don't use the package for Sushi on 5, or Raw on 5... I think the credits are now $35 / $40 respectively but it doesn't change the calculation. The package does give you a discount as long as you don't use it on the restaurants with a la carte pricing.
  9. You can't pre-book with a package, that is why you have a discount. Just have to make it a priority to go and make your booking as soon as you board, and hope that you can get what you would prefer. If you want to pre-book you can do that with individual reservations and you'll pay a bit more than if you were using a package, but you get to pick the restaurant, date and time in advance.
  10. The cruise planner accessible only after booking, is the only place that mistake has been published, so you are likely to have a fight on your hands getting them to back down on that one. All material available pre-booking shows the correct separation between classic and zero-proof. You are not the first to have found the error on the cruise planner, but AFAIK it really is an error...
  11. Millennium if in a suite, otherwise Silhouette. Not really enough dining options for us on M class if you don't have Luminae in the mix.
  12. We encountered this last month on Eclipse in Murano, and on our first dinner there I still tipped extra, but a little less than we would have before. The service was good, but not quite as 'engaged' as we were used to, but we tipped extra anyway. Second visit, same waiter and zero sign of recognition that we had eaten there only a couple of days before and we got the whole Murano menu explanation once again. Service was even more disconnected and no extra tip that time. Third dinner and same waiter once more and still 'Have you eaten here before... etc.' No extra tip again. The Maître d' seemed more engaged in service than usual so probably some staffing issues, but there really is no excuse for the complete lack of recognition which even the MDR staff managed to achieve despite a similar gap between visits (we were also eating in So5 and Tuscan). So in short, we will still tip extra for great service, but a little less than we used to. Poor service and nothing extra.
  13. Yes, 100% certain, but you were in a suite so you had the Stream package, and yes on that you can indeed stream. Even with Starlink, Celebrity keep the Surf package bandwidth so low that it is useless for anything more than very simple websites, which does rather make a mockery of calling it 'Surf'...
  14. The excluded bars are those that do not normally carry the right stock to serve the drinks on the Elite menu.. so typically the World Class Bar and the Martini Bar are excluded for example along with the MDR and the speciality restaurants.
  15. ... if you have the Stream package... on Surf it remains woefully inadequate for even web browsing, I didn't once manage to even load a page on this site during 12 days on Eclipse with the Starlink system.
  16. Yes, it is 2 hours, 5-7pm.
  17. ... and even then it doesn't always get better... 🙂 We had nothing beyond dessert showing for the MDR for the first 6 days of our cruise last month... In general though, the app will always show the cruise length and pattern of sea/port days in line with the current cruise on that ship at the time, so you will only see a match on those elements if the current cruise is the same itinerary as your future cruise...
  18. Not sure if it is recent enough for you, but in January on Eclipse the premium water was definitely not included in the Classic package. Similarly the package details in the following link also make it clear that Zero Proof is not included in the Classic package... https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages/compare-packages
  19. Didn't need to on the first occasion as 'barely enough' was enough given the other food we had ordered. Second occasion we were forewarned and ordered accordingly.
  20. That was a change we noticed in Tuscan on Eclipse last month. On previous cruises the sides were always large and shareable, this time they were tiny and barely enough for one person…
  21. The last chic night is often 'lobster night'...
  22. Before they removed it from sale... 🙂 It was back in May last year if I recall correctly, shame it isn't an option these days.
  23. ... and the ship supplied hairdryers usually have a European plug...
