  1. OP here. This issue was resolved in post #9 of this thread. Just zoom out and the "missing" menu" items will magically appear (poor website design/testing). The bottom menu items are off screen and there is no scroll capability. Zooming out allows the entire menu to be displayed. This is only an issue on smaller screens.
  2. Oceania has cruises that start and end in San Francisco.
  3. Viking used to send final docs and luggage tags in nice felt zipper pouches. They quit a few years ago (at least to me)
  4. In my opinion, you don't really need a tour provider to visit and see the Tower of London. Just buy a ticket and self-guide. At least that's what we did in 2003, so things may have changed a bit.
  5. Assuming that your friends are in the same or higher cabin category, you can book for both of you. You will need their booking number.
  6. We did the same thing, Bergen to Stockholm with the Iceland extension pre-Covid in 2019. We are extremely glad we did it. We were lodged at the Hilton Canopy in the center of downtown Reykjavik (some extensions stay at the Hilton a good distance from downtown). The location was great. We arrived early afternoon on day one and spent the afternoon exploring the city. The food in Reykjavik was outstanding, some of the best seafood we have ever had. There were about 35 of us on the excursion and they divided us up into two groups and assigned us to two 40 ft. coaches which allowed us to everyone that wanted a window seat to have one. The comments of a previous poster are not correct. The second day was a trip seeing sights around Reykjavik, lunch on our own in Reykjavik and the afternoon at the Blue Lagoon, then back to the hotel. The third day was the golden circle tour which included stops at most of the iconic locations along with a very good lunch at a nice restaurant. It was a good balance of escorted tours (not just panoramic drive bys) and free time at locations and in the city. We were quite fortunate with our timing and the the lupine were exploding in bloom and the coutryside was purple (see below). If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
  7. Once you book and make a deposit, you have entered into a contract subject to the T&C at the time of booking. The T&C outline the circumstances you reference indirectly. This is consistent with every cruise line we have sailed with.
  8. Pre-Covid on Viking Homelands, there was a shuttle. We did an included walking tour and were left with free time in city center at the end and directions to the shuttle loading point. I seem to remember that the guide told us the shuttle ran every 20-30 minutes. We only took the shuttle back to the ship, but since there weren't buses accumulating at the ship, I have to assume the shuttle ran both ways. 😉
  9. See attached. Some of the "advertised" excursions may be available on your cruise due to days that venues are open. ShoreExcursions - redacted (1).pdf
  10. My opinion, you filled out a form expressing interest. That triggered them to pursue and follow up on your interest. We have been cruising with Viking since 2017 and have only ever gotten one call from them to make sure we didn't want the TripMate insurance since the deadline was about to pass. In short, you asked them to contact you.
  11. It wouldn't necessarily explain a missing walking tour, but I experienced a similar issue on our upcoming Great Lakes Collection cruise. An excursion listed on the general Viking site in the sales area showed an excursion that did not appear in MVJ. In checking into booking on my own, I discovered why it was missing. We are in port on Tuesday and the venue is closed on Tuesday. Perhaps the walking tour included stop(s) at places that will be closed that day.
  12. I personally do not want my cruise ship to tip. I prefer to have the ship to remain upright! 😜
  13. I do notice that Port Everglades does not have the Viking Polaris on the schedule for tomorrow.
  14. Port Everglades web site indicates all operations are normal.
  15. I see that Viking Polaris has been docked in Freeport, Bahamas since April 12. I assume for repairs related to the rogue wave incident. Just curious, has the April 18, 2023 sailing from Ft. Lauderdale to Toronto been cancelled? I assume there is still adequate time to make it to Ft. Lauderdale from Freeport for tomorrow's sailing if the work is completed today.
  16. I am the same. We just ask the cabin steward and they provide us with another bar of soap and soap dish that sits on the bench/ledge
  17. On our Viking Montreal - NYC cruise on three separate mornings in the Worls Cafe, the same man would come up to the toaster while I was waiting for my bagel to fall down into the tray and reach in and grab my toasted bagel and then disappear! That's really a step beyond cutting in line.
  18. Because there isn't an active thread on dress code in the Restaurant. 😉
  19. My experience is that bourbon is not available for stocking in the PV frig. Selections have been vodka (don't remember brand, probably Smirnoff's), gin (bombay), whisky (Dewars) and rum I think (don't remember brand). I've always requested all gin and after first day, that's all that was stocked.
  20. I would disagree, we are all "free" to express our opinions here in a respectful manner. 😉
  21. There was a man on our Viking Homelands in 2019 that wore a viking helmet, complete with horns, the entire cruise regardless of location or activity. His behavior generally matched his wardrobe.
  22. I have researched this thouroughly and have concluded that the beep is the motion sensor that activates the hidden camera 😜
  23. We did the Iceland extension at the end of our Viking Homelands cruise in 2019. I imagine it is the same extension. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would do it again if we had the chance. The excursions were well organized. There were about 40 of us and we were divided into two groups of about 20 each on 40 foot coaches. Everyone could have a window seat if they wanted. The scenery was spectacular and it was consistently more than just drive by viewing with opportunity to get off the bus and explore the point of interest. We were put up at the Canopy by Hilton in the heart of Reykjavik and a great location. I understand that sometimes the extension stays at the Hilton which is not very convenient to the city. The restaurants were fantastic and some of the best seafood we have ever had. Richard
  24. I can't speak for the Viking clothes lines in the shower, but what may not be common knowledge is that once the line is extended, twisting the knob like thing on the end housing the line clockwise will lock it in place to prevent the sag and items "sinking" to the middle.
