  1. I’m a Martini and Manhattan drinker, so I don’t normally go for any of the sweet concoctions , but I did find the Strawberry Blonde,Tito's Handmade vodka, St-Germain liqueur, strawberry, lemon juice and mint not to sweet, and refreshing.
  2. I guess you could just ignore your check in time (it’s not boarding time), and take your chances. Worst case scenario, you will have to wait around for your actual check in time, but it’s hard to say exactly when the ship will start boarding. Any factors could delay that.
  3. Just an FYI, originally my check in showed date that was 46 days away, and check in usually happens at 45. So don’t always trust what app or website says. If it doesn’t work one day, just try the next. Also, I was checking in for the Wonder, which is in Barcelona, so it went by midnight there, which happened to be 3pm here on the West coast. So, also be aware of that. Could depend on where ship is.
  4. I’m at the highest level on Carnival, and as a solo cruiser, they don’t really have anything to offer me now. However, if the itinerary is right, and a longer cruise, I would book them. I have sailed them in Europe, twice to Australia, and in 2019, the longest cruise on their books to Singapore. Trust me, the demographic is not like an LA sailing. I have sailed for the most part, between the 2 cruise lines, and it has never been a biggie to me when I get cruise credits, because I know I will sail again anyway. I’m sailing next year on Celebrity on a new itinerary for me, and I do like that they reciprocate loyalty.
  5. If you had picked the option to choose your own cabin, you would have been given cabins to choose from. I have to agree with others and you may have booked a guarantee accidentally. I would call them before your final payment is due.
  6. And you will get a totally different answer if you call back. They are notorious for not knowing squat. You will get better info here.
  7. Here are the USD prices today. I don’t buy the drink package, so not sure how much it’s fluctuating. Since this is a New Years cruise, I’m pretty sure it won’t drop a lot. You can also use a money converter app to get a rough estimate of the USD price. And remember to add the 18% gratuity to listed price.
  8. I’m so jealous you got to take the train. I wanted to in May for my Ovation trip, but had to settle for the bus. It wasn’t bad, but definitely would have preferred the train. I’m anxious to get back on Ovation in March from Sydney. Love that ship. Carlington may still be the Diamond Concierge on board. Great guy!
  9. I have always put my Cpap through the scanner in its original Resmed bag. I have never had to remove it from the bag.
  10. I hope Micheline is feeling better. Good news for you, Amtrak just started it’s Seattle- Vancouver run today, after 2 years. Micheline will also have several days at sea on your way to Hawaii, to really rest up and heal.
  11. Some of the replies you are reading have nothing to do with Royal Caribbean. You would get the same snarky replies on every single cruise line thread. And a lot of these posters cruise on different cruise lines. Posters on here, are a very small percentage of actual cruisers. I think you will have a great time, and try not to judge a whole cruise line, reading a few posts here. There are a lot of great people cruising, and look at that glass half full.
  12. But remember, you will pay onboard price for those 9 days, so do the math and see what would be cheaper. From my experience, onboard has always been $5-6 more a day than purchasing pre cruise. YMMV
  13. Need clarification…do you mean, sit at different tables, or dine elsewhere, like Windjammer or Specialty? You do not need to go to MDR every night, but when you do go, you need to sit at assigned tables. If you want to sit together, have your reservations linked to each other.
  14. I had 9506 on Ovation in May in Alaska, and it was awesome. I loved just sitting by the window and looking out. I was solo, and the cabin was huge. I normally get interiors, but I got a Royal Up bid for an Oceanview. I was originally on deck 3 and didn’t find out they moved me again until I got on board.
