Far too many moving parts for smooth and uncomplicated integration.

Imagine the difficulty the call center personnel will have both understanding all of this and then explaining it to Princess customers who call seeing clarification.

The TA community will, I expect, also find this to be a challenge.

what's to clarify??  seems pretty straight forward to me - book soon and save, book later and pay more

  2. who will blink first? - and if Princess doesn't reduce to drop and go - will those cruisers just not go - but remember for their next cruise no longer drop and go pricing, so they book earlier.

And as others, we book when the cruises open up - so no change for us.

When does "STAR Princess" sail in the caribbean - we will book it, depending on the price and how our cruise on the SUN P goes in fall 2024 we will decide if the refundable deposit - nevermind

Oh my, talk about confusing.  A slew of posts where it's like people on different wave beams.

I am quite sure that @MissP22 is well acquainted with what both the Cruise Fare packages and the Standalone Beverage packages contain.  Apparently, she thought @Lady Arwen was referring to a standalone alcohol package and I presume took her wording literally.  I think we are all aware that there is no standalone package that is ONLY for alcohol (albeit there are standalone beverage packages that are strictly non-alcohol).  So, @voljeep, the world still turns and the packages are what we know them to be.

    "JUST" 😈

Go to the website and look exactly where I instructed in my post.  It is there in black and white, I promise! lol

    "JUST"

believe me - i KNOW the 'beverage packages' - since way before PLUS and Premier - and I know the poster - since 'the villages' ...

JUST ALCOHOL ??? that's the qualification ... not BEVERAGES ...

In defence of this member, please keep in mind that she has no interest whatsoever in purchasing any packages and is very vocal in her options.  She would have no reason to search for this information nor would she ask for it.  So, for her knowing all the packages and what they offer is just not in her wheelhouse.

well, it is in mine - JUST ALCOHOL - show me the package

I am surprised you don't already know about this... you have been around for ages... I don't know how you could have missed it 🙂

I'm surprised as well. If @MissP22 doesn't understand it who is an experienced cruiser, it just shows how confusing the whole thing is.

a 'package' that "JUST COVERS ALCOHOL" nothing else - not coffees, waters, soda's

    OK, please post

Here is a photo someone was nice enough to let me take of their Vines charcuterie board and crudities while we were on the Ruby.  The portion sizes on the Majestic were much larger, especially the crudities but they may have given us a double order.

the food portion looks like plenty for a single person - the wine ... not so much

Without wanting to start another debate on the pros and cons of the Plus and Premier packages, I would be really interested to know what percentage of passengers take up either of the packages.

I don't suppose there are any official figures available, perhaps we could take a poll of CC Princess board contributors. Or someone might have a 'feel' for the numbers.

the non 'package'😄 posters on CC are way more likely to respond ...

Although lots of plonk these days is bottled with screw top, there are lots of quality wines bottled that way.  It can be a regional thing such as Australia which has embraced the usage big time.  In Princess' case, they may be offering the lesser wines when admission is $10 or free.

one of the wines was a chard that was available thru Ocean now with the PLUS package

I cannot locate the actual Vines menu but here is what you get for the fixed menu:

A casual wine bar found on most Princess cruise ships, Vines offers an extensive wine menu and a variety of antipasti and tapas dishes. Previously complimentary with a glass of wine purchase, the food items are now an extra cost.

Vines costs $14.99 USD for the fixed-price menu including 1 x Crudités, 1 x Charcuterie Board, and 1 x Chocolate Truffles of your choice.

You can also pay per item, with Crudités at $3, Charcuterie Boards at $12, and Chocolate Truffles at $3.

I wonder if Vines will 'still allow' you to visit the International Cafe (on 'most' ships) and bring a snack in while enjoying your wine(s)?

  12. I wonder if this will 'run off' the serious roulette players (like yourself) and free up table space for the novice players (like my wife) who may be 'intimidated' by the player(s) who put stacks of chips on various numbers/combinations?  She still enjoys playing even with that, and prolly will not notice except to state, 'look, a cute new space'

On any given night, are most roulette players the serious gamblers?

The Butcher's Block by Dario, located on deck 9 of the new Sun Princess, comes to life as a specialty impromptu experience featuring a large shared, family-style table serving up a carnivore's paradise.

any more details on how this will exactly work? - Is it a 'specialty restaurant or 'casual dining bistro' and I know what 'family style' means - just put a bunch of food on the table and everyone serves themselves

"MEAT!" yelled Briscoe Darling when the boys had taken all the meat and passed him the empty plate.
