  1. I don't watch movies at home either unless one of my grandsons has a movie on and it catches my attention. When they aren't home, I rarely turn the TV on. I prefer my ocean view, the Internet, or reading. On ships, I enjoy people-watching, various events, the passing scenery, and I never choose a cruise that has more than two consecutive sea days. YMMV and I'm thankful that we all have choices! 😉
  2. I can't imagine watching a movie while onboard a cruise ship. There are too many other things to do.
  3. Quite a few American cruisers take them to give as tips because they are unique.
  4. Animal House with John Belushi. Gotta watch it! Animal House - Wikipedia
  5. Double-secret probation! 🙀 Does Dean Wormer know about this? 😲
  6. The ONLY time I've been to the claim room was when my cruise companion brought a 3-litre wine bag (out of a box) onboard in checked luggage. When the suitcase was opened, the Princess rep. examined the wine bag, then said "okay, thanks" and didn't confiscate it. 👌
  7. We sit at a table for the four of us, but at a large table presumably 8-9 other people could touch the salt and pepper, as opposed to 1,000s touching utensils in the buffet. Everything in life has risk. Ex: Typhoid Mary could be working in the kitchen. 🙀 😉
  8. Presumably you will be the only one handling your utensils in the MDR, unlike the buffet.
  9. With the added passport agency fees and pictures, the cost is over $200 pp.
  10. This is somewhat disturbing... 🙀
  11. We have cabins on the Riviera deck as well (near the forward elevators), so there are cabins above and below us. I would have preferred the middle section but chose mid-forward for the reason you are concerned about. (Fort Lauderdale to Quebec.)
  12. We sailed around the Baltic Sea on her when relatively new. Awesome ship!
  13. Great Review! Six of us will be doing this itinerary/ship in September, so it was very timely for me. For my grandsons, it will be their first cruise and first trip to Alaska. Can't wait! 😀
  14. I believe it will accept either type, but I don't remember for sure. 🤷‍♂️
  15. They typically have one receptacle that will power an electric shaver but not a hair dryer. Fortunately, they offer enough juice to power an LED nightlight.
  16. I purchased 2 tickets to Las Vegas from Hawaiian Airlines a couple of years ago and at the last minute, we both had Covid, so we cancelled to avoid spreading it. The cancelled tickets became travel credits, but we discovered (the hard way) that you had to actually FLY within one year of the PURCHASE date, rather than the original flight date or the cancellation date. Since we had purchased the tickets about 8 months in advance, we only had a 4-month window in which to use them or lose them. We lost the money. A lesson learned! 😪 That is the kind of fine print that is not extolled during their commercials while bragging about how flexible they are. Most of the airlines, cruise lines, hotels, car rental agencies, etc., have "gotchas" built into their contracts that they use to pencil-whip customers.
  17. Per Google, Feb. 9, 2024: Here's where you can cruise without a passport - The Points Guy Can I get off a cruise ship in Canada without a passport? Closed-loop cruises from U.S. ports that visit Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico are part of an international agreement that allows U.S. citizens to cruise without a passport. In these cases, government-issued identification and proof of U.S. citizenship are acceptable alternatives to a passport book.Feb 9, 2024
  18. LOL, I agree completely with this statement. ⚓
  19. Rubber snakes would add an element of excitement! 🐍
  20. Once again, I doubt that you would have to pay an additional $1800 to cancel your original ticket. It sounds like a misunderstanding. You will simply lose the original ticket, and will have to buy a new ticket from EZ Air or any random airline.
  21. It sounds like you will simply lose the cost of the original ticket as "the change fee" and then have to purchase a new ticket. Your statement makes it sound like you are paying 3 times for your ticket. $1821 original ticket + $1821 additional change fee + $2244 new ticket This seems unlikely. I would check again if I were you.
  22. A related story from today's news: British tourist stranded in Mexican hospital after collapsing while on holiday with insurers refusing to pay out for heart attack treatment (msn.com)
  23. Undoubtedly this is true in MOST cases. In my case, my boys would be allowed to visit Victoria B.C. WITHOUT being passport holders, according to both govt. and Princess websites. I've made the decision to get them anyway for future travel.
