  1. I saw that and am succeeding in my quest to not sweat the small stuff! Reformed perfectionist.
  2. No, nightmares don’t make sense. Read the second sentence again.
  3. Literally every time we cruise, we get home to find random mail from one or two days during the supposed hold, but nothing the day the accumulated mail is supposed to be delivered. I leave a post-it note on the outside of our mailbox (one of 38 in a cluster). The note is always gone, but it happens again the next time.
  4. Is that real sauerkraut on the Reuben or little pieces of lukewarm boiled cabbage? I have been really disappointed in the last couple of Reubens.
  5. There are You Tube videos that demonstrate how to make a carrying handle for boxes with packing tape. It might not be something you would trust constantly, but could be an asset when picking it up.
  6. My SO’s doctor is from Puerto Rico. At an office visit last week, he made a list of places in San Juan he thought we would enjoy. Fourteen places, and one comment at the bottom - “Careful at La Perla”.
  7. I found an upgrade offer this morning - $287 to move from an inside to an OV on deck 2 on the Magic for six nights. I must be on their list of stupid guests ☹️
  8. The bingo game that included the Deal or No Deal packages on the Conquest in November was held at 6:30 p.m. on the last night. I think a lot of packages went unclaimed because early seating was at 6:00. I went to pick up my package at 5:45 as directed, and to ask exactly what time the game started - 6:30. I walked up and the first thing out of her mouth was, “For only $23 you can upgrade….”. I told her I wasn’t certain I was going to play because of dinner. Her response to that was, “Would you like to buy a $2 marker?” 😂
  9. I left $43 on the Liberty on September 30 and still have not received a check. I filled out the form above 2-3 weeks ago, no response received.
  10. Let me ask a related question, please. When will the Christmas music on the ships stop? On a cruise from the 22nd until the 31st and find pretty much most of them qualify for the “most annoying”.
  11. We usually take our Christmas cruise the second week in December, but got a really good deal this year for nine nights on Jewel of the Seas 12/22 through 12/31. With the Jewel being older, smaller, and lacking the kid-friendly amenities of the larger, newer ships, we are hoping it won’t be as bad as it could be. But now, 21 days before sailing, the only available cabins are a few suites, so I don’t know. Hopefully the crowds will consist of more older couples instead of so many large family groups. Either way, we will enjoy it.
  12. We became quite spoiled during our reduced occupancy cruises and are now super aware of the crowds. It has been a bit disappointing and we are anxiously awaiting the day it seems normal again. The reduced occupancy is pretty much our only positive memory of Covid days!
  13. It will be worse and there will be more large multi-generational family groups. Expect it to be more difficult to move around the ship easily because of the groups.
  14. I think one of their health benefits is to keep your sick coworkers at a distance during your lunch break 😂
  15. Why, oh why, do I continue to read Sid’s posts while I am eating?? I should know better by now!
  16. I am on my third one over many years. The blue light no longer works, but I am just using it as is.
  17. We don’t need internet every day of a cruise, but the combined four night D+ amenity isn’t quite enough for a 9-night cruise. What is the best combination of that and the Prime discount? Can the Prime discount even be used for just the last half of a cruise, or is it voyage length only?
  18. I leave them at home because we have photos on our phone, but still have that uncomfortable feeling that I am forgetting something.
  19. Gary’s much older sister has rented a place on the beach in Bradenton for six weeks this winter. Originally, she was going to have so many visitors that we wouldn’t have to be here for her 100% of the time. Several have dropped out, leaving us responsible and landlocked. That date was one that we could (almost) count on to sneak away for a few days. I haven’t missed a January/February cruise (other than 2021) in twelve years and am feeling a bit resentful.
  20. I know, it is January 30. I tried to book it as soon as I got the offer on Tuesday, and it didn’t even show up on the regular website. I booked something else instead, and when it reappeared on the website yesterday, I called to see if I could change my booking to the Brilliance. After 55 minutes on the phone, I found out that it was available for guarantee only and the casino cannot book guarantees. So the Freedom it is, and I will probably have to pay for the Tampa cruises.
  21. I live an hour away from the Port of Tampa and frequently look for cruises out of Tampa. I have yet to find a deal, and the cruises are always more expensive than those out of the other Florida ports.
  22. I think the number of times the word “independent” is used is a hint.
  23. The same thing happened to us on the Brilliance in February 2020. Booked a guarantee (only choice available) on Sunday, and received a call on Monday about the overbooking. We were offered a full refund plus any sailing out of Tampa for February, March, or April for only port fees/taxes. Thank goodness we chose the next sailing at the end of February, because we all know what happened soon after. You have a fantastic opportunity to cruise on the Wonder any time during the remainder of 2022 and all of 2023 for only port fees/taxes, plus a refund of what you paid for the overbooked cruise. It might be possible to use your refund for another cruise during the same time period of the original one and you will still have a free cruise on the Wonder to look forward to before the end of 2023. Sounds perfect to me!
  24. That is exactly what happened to us! We thought the ship just had a lot of vibration, then one afternoon we realized it was vibrating while we were in port. It was so bad where we were that it was comical, but didn’t really bother us. We did book a cove balcony far away from 14 aft on the Celebration, though.
