  1. I get tired of all of the eating by the third day, so I go early in the cruise while I will still enjoy it.
  2. I didn’t say it was Carnival, because I can’t remember that particular cruise. Probably Royal Caribbean, or possibly Carnival several years ago. But a hint that might help someone else in the future in any case.
  3. If I didn’t know better, I would say my oldest son is due to be there. Every time he visits Florida from NC, there is unusually cold or wet weather. I guess it is possible that some people really are bad luck!
  4. We were in 14486, very close to your cabin, in September 2021. We could here (and feel) the Bolt running, could even tell when the “boost” button was pushed. It sounded like it was running through our closet, but apparently the white space in that area is where the Bolt is fastened to the framework of the ship. The hours it runs aren’t too bad and it amused us rather than bothered us, just curious if you can hear it or feel the vibrations?
  5. Our luggage was missing after a cruise around seven years ago. My late SO was not happy with the assigned tag number, so he went to Guest Services and obtained new tags with a lower number. He filled out and attached the tag to his bag while I completed my own. We got to the luggage pickup area and my bag was there, but not his. After searching for over forty-five minutes, it was finally located. When he got the new luggage tags, the number was not changed in our account. The new tag fell off his bag at some point. Luckily, his personal luggage tag with his name and address was spotted, our account was checked, and his bag was delivered to the area of the old tag number. Since that number was a lot higher than the new number, it took quite a while for the bag to be brought out and we were able to search that particular area. So, if you ever exchange your assigned tags for a different number and your luggage does not show up, look in the area for the original tag number. And never, ever allow the person who attached the tags to perform that task again, just do it yourself!
  6. I have never been questioned about my wine. I do wrap the bottle in bubble wrap, because I am an overachiever and a little bit OCD - we use off-site parking and I am afraid it will be damaged on the shuttle. The shape of the bottle remains but the label is not visible. It might be worth a try for getting not-quite-wine on board.
  7. I have to admit I am a little disappointed. I was hoping it was something new that indicated a winning bid. But at least the process is now working for you.
  8. I am not offended at all! I have absolutely no taste when it comes to wine and I admit it! I was 69 when I drank that Cruiser, so I don’t anticipate ever living long enough to become a wine connoisseur.
  9. I don’t care for wine, but I keep Arbor Mist on hand to mix with ginger ale and ice. I take a bottle of their blackberry Merlot on cruises to enjoy while I am drying my hair and putting on makeup. To keep this in perspective, I had one Cruiser on the Mardi Gras, made from three kinds of fruit juice and three kinds of alcohol that I mistakenly thought would be 1/3 shot of each. I don’t know how Gary got me to the cabin, but I woke up the next morning still wearing my formal night dress (although the strapless bra was on the floor), makeup smeared all over the pillowcase, and various body parts of towel animals underneath me or scattered randomly on the floor. Arbor Mist is the best bet for some of us!
  10. Does “offer received” appear in the email you received after you made the offer, or do you see it after you click on “modify/cancel” and the bid details appear? My earlier response referred to the bid details page, not the email. .
  11. Actually, the initial comment changed from “pending” to “submitted” a couple of months ago. “Offer received” is different, wonder if they have made more changes to the program. Maybe it means you are under consideration or have moved to the next step (whatever that might be). Please keep us informed!
  12. To use the escalator in the terminal, you must have one hand free to hold the railing. Guests with more than one bag will have to take the terminal elevator instead. Up until that point, there is no difference.
  13. We have been there twice. It is owned by the Nachi Cocom family and the food and customer service are the same. It is a tiny place, with just a bar, loungers, and a pool. The only access to the water is down some stairs into an area with rocks, so good for snorkeling but not wading/swimming. I believe that is why it is adults only. It is easy walking distance from the port area, peaceful and relaxing, with good food and drinks. And a great view of the harbor and ships. It was $29 when we went twice last year.
  14. I tried to purchase some gift cards this morning and received an error message regarding “technical difficulties”. I hope they are resolved soon.
  15. Even the people who don’t spend time in the solarium can be affected when the places they do enjoy are swamped with the people who were displaced from the solarium.
  16. There is a limit of 25 premium cards per calendar month. I used $84 of a $100 gift card to pay for the steakhouse online. I got on the ship with two $100 gift cards and the one with the $16 balance. I was able to easily use a kiosk to apply the two $100 cards, but it would not accept the $16 card, so I took it to Guest Services. They applied it in seconds.
  17. Eight one-hundred dollar bills = 80,000 pennies.
  18. I was on the Liberty September 26-30 and brought home 80,000 pennies from a seventy-five cent slot machine. Almost all of the slot machines were penny slots.
  19. I think the Oasis might be a little overwhelming for a first time cruiser.
  20. I originally could see my cruises on both the website and the app, but the set sail passes were missing. Now, an hour later, cruises are completely missing. But I am able to book new cruises, no problem with that!
  21. Thank you, I was worried because I deliberately left it there, then later wondered if the limit was over $50 instead of the $10 I thought it was and I had made a $43 mistake. I left it there because I had already cashed out $800 from a favorite slot machine, but was unable to play it again. There were three machines together, and a large group of people had pulled up two more chairs (moved from other machines) and camped out there for hours, taking turns among their group. Sometimes no one was playing one of them, but they indignantly said, “She is in the bathroom!” I wanted to leave on a happy note because of the $800 and seeing that happening so close to the cashier’s cage would have irritated me all over again.
  22. I left the Liberty on October 1 with $43 left on my casino account. Will I automatically receive a check for this amount?
  23. In years past, I tried several off-site lots. I got tired of finding out that the lot was under an overpass or seeing homeless people sleeping up against the chain link fence of the lot. There are many horror stories out there. I used Premier Parking (in a parking garage) more than once, but their vans were in bad shape and I gave up after the time the horn was broken and the driver had to open his window and shake his fist at slower vehicles instead. Changes were made, and we tried Premier again after the restart. There were many polite employees in uniform shirts and vans in very good shape. It was an impressive change. That may have been temporary, though, as their service is no longer that polished and we stood in a line in the parking garage waiting for a van. You park your own car in the garage and keep your keys. We are giving them another try in November, but I would not take a chance on another company.
