  1. I have never seen coat hooks on the wall. I bring my own LONG hooks that I hang in the closet.
  2. If you add the package to your cruise fare, the difference includes an increase to your insurance (and maybe your taxes/not sure on this one). To get around this, you could wait until embarkation day to add it to your account and/or pay with OBC. You do take the risk that the package will go up in price between the time you booked your cruise and time you sail. This happened to me when I added the package to an existing booking.
  3. Thank you for returning to your thread. Often times, the OP never updates. We all appreciate you asking for advice and wanting to follow the appropriate protocols. Pick an early boarding time when it becomes available. "Treat" them to a nice MDR embarkation lunch. You all will have a wonderful time. I love seeing the excitement through the eyes of new passengers. Welcome to the Princess world.
  4. I thought the Pacific Princess became Azamara Quest....Hmmmm. Need to revisit Azamara.
  5. Poster always declares he/she/they reduces crew appreciation and most often is in a suite. There are not to many members who openly share this. Stick around long enough and you will be able to categorize posters. I have my favorites and know who the “experts” are. But getting back to the main topic… Plus or Premier minus full price of wifi ($15/day) minus crew appreciation for select cabin will net cost of remaining allowance for beverages. https://www.princess.com/html/global/disclaimers/crew-appreciation/ Then decide if you will consume enough to break even. I got the plus at $40/day. I purchased plus at $50/day. I locked in plus for remaining 2023 cruises at $50. I also declined plus for 2 cruises. Plus would have cost me more than an upcoming drop and go 7 day cruise at $60/day. I have enough obc to cover crew appreciation, WiFi, and a few drinks. It’s not always the cost, but you have to consider how port intensive the itinerary is AND convenience. I can only share my experiences with Plus. Premier is out of reach for me. I don’t need all those extras.
  6. Ha Ha....I did find the correct website. But the "truffle" is in her ice cream cartons. I was "looking" for a mushroom truffle.
  7. Thanks. I didn't find a truffle hidden in my sundae. Googled and didn't see anythng.
  8. I'm not trying to be controversial here...just asking some questions. When you weren't Elite, did you expect someone to let you sit and board with them because they were elite? "We are taking my..." Did you pay for their fare? Which port are you leaving from? Are they close to being elite? Will you arrive after embarkation begins (then a mute point)? Will you also share your Elite Laundry Perk with them? Will you ask them to get tender priority? Will you ask if they can attend the Captain Circle Party with you? I tried this and were told "no". Will you ask if they can be in the disembarkation lounge for Elites? Yes, they can check in with you. The policy applies to Suites and Elites, then Platinum, then General Boarding. Yes, they could have had all these perks if they booked a suite. Not judging...just asking for clarification. You can ask. Port agents/workers are NOT Princess personnel so they always know the rules.
  9. I understand you not willing to do a counter offer, but truly do appreciate that you posted this. Have you been monitoring your cruise? Were Reserve Mini Suites sold out? I haven't been denied with cruise just around the corner. I am still holding on with a thread of hope.
  10. I don't know what your finances are, but you had looked into a suite. How about a family suite? Do the Royal Class ships even have them?
  11. And … don’t forget to add in those two ($12 each) mouth watering tempting Tyra Banks ice cream splendors and 2 free gym classes that we all will partake in….daily! (aka Sheldon Cooper). Forgot to mention….free delivery of your Medallion….thank you JP.
  12. Reserve Class is the “new” name for Club Class mini-suites.
  13. I had the choice between OV Deck 5 or Fiesta Deck on the Diamond Princess. I chose Deck 5...Very nice location. But did sneak a peek at Fiesta Deck cabins. Without an international cafe on the Diamond, it was useless to be on the lower deck. I would chose the Fiesta Deck the next time. Deck 6 is a great location. (Besides the fact that the Diamond actually had a barrel chair in the cabin.) Never had smoke or noise from the Casino when in a Window Suite on the same Deck 6. I would chose the cabin closest to the Piazza.
  14. If you are in club class, you will not be able to dine with your sons if they are booked in an inside. Bring lots and lots and lots of magnetic hooks and clips. Bring a NON surge protector charging device. 4 people times 6 (maybe) devices is a lot of things to plug into one outlet. I don't know if they "fixed" the remote controls for the television, but it used to be that one device would change the channel on the "other" television. If your sons are tall enough, pack a couple of extra collapsible/disposable cardboard boxes for the shelf above the closet.
  15. This is a very unfortunate accident. I am always amazed at the skill that is required to go from pilot boat to ship and ship to pilot boat. I am wondering what happened next since the pilot was just boarding the ship to bring it into port. More information: The late 69-year-old Osuka had more than 15 years of experience as a pilot. Also, the sea was calm at the time of the accident. A pilot is an indispensable presence when entering a port, as he uses a rope ladder to board ships entering the port and guides them through the waterway. https://www.seanews.com.tr/in-japan-maritime-pilot-yoshihiro-osuga-69-dies-at-pilot-ladder-accident/196681/
  16. Princess is really good on the gangway. I sometimes use a cane. They walk down backwards in front of me...just in case I fall forward. Brave souls. They try their best when tendering. Keep in mind that both boat/ship are moving. Sometimes in opposite directions. There will be two people on each side of you to help you on/off. I hope your balance is good enough to stand by yourself. I hope you can manage the steps inside the tender. I hope that you can "jump" the distance from tender to platform/reverse. I'm not the most coordinated. Sometimes I feel that I can do it by myself. Most times I welcome the assistance.
  17. You will have no choice of cabin. If there are other available cabins in your category, you might be able to convince Princess to move you. It's a done deal if they accept your bid (or so I understand).
  18. Glad you find it fun. I find it frustrating. No rejection. Keeping me on edge. Cruise a couple of weeks away. Ship is almost sold out. I know: you can get an upbid cabin days before. I know: "there's always hope" until they say "no". But...but... but...
  19. Again, is this ship specific? I was able to do so on my Diamond Princess Cruise last month. I've never had an invite to meet the officers. 360 is only available on select ships.
  20. Yes, you will get two mini bar set ups. One will be in the room when you get there. You can call room service and/or steward (varies by ship) to get the second. Plus, you get 2 bottles of water starting with the second night. @Steelers36 is quick on the draw. Has anyone tried to exchange the beer for Michelob or something better than the Dos Equis?
  21. Is it still by invitation only? How would you know otherwise? What time can you arrive? Thanks
  22. Isn't the Sanctuary the place that the "New Love Boat" contestants met and "got to know each other"?
