  1. I have been trying to do just this but the HAL website has the wrong days listed for dining. The first night isn’t an option but I can book for the night after I got off the ship. They loaded it it a day off and say it’s right.
  2. I have an online only travel agency. If I have a question I send an email and get an answer quickly. When I want to book dining, excursions, see itinerary, order gifts, I do that directly via the HAL website. I’m not sure what control of my booking another person mentioned means.
  3. And if you’d booked the same flight with the airline directly you could have changed to a more acceptable flight for no charge. Your example makes me think I will just do air myself always
  4. It isn’t just onboard that HAL can have billing errors. I made a very large payment for an upcoming trip. When I get my credit card bill it’s huge. Look through the charges. HAL ran my payment twice. I reach out and they say must be error on my part…..one is pending and will drop off and they only show the one amount on my account. I have to send them a copy of the statement before they will reverse their error. They never did say where the extra payment went…..it was not on my account.
  5. We did not get the meal plan because eating in hotel restaurants isn’t our thing. Still to this day we talk about the crepe restaurant we found in Fairbanks. We went to a place in Anchorage for dinner that we have returned to several times since finding it on that first cruise trip. I didn’t find food any more expensive than going out at home and you will pay less than than their meal plan and get out if they’re hotels. With the exception of Denali, their hotels are just basic places to sleep. Definitely nothing fancy. If you were staying in these cities on your own, you would NEVER go to the hotel for a meal.
  6. If you use the right credit card all these things are insured anyway. My Chase Sapphire Reserve will cover 10k per person per incident for trip insurance.
  7. The gratuity is taken care of. You will owe nothing on your drink.
  8. You think fixed late is the better option than moving to open?
  9. It’s an older ship and right now we have fixed late. I like the idea of going when it actually suits us but worried about long waits and getting a table for 2. Maybe this will work
  10. How does Club Orange work with anytime dining. I think I have it based on being in a suite.
  11. After reading these replies about taxis and Ubers I wondered if their bus might be the best option. we are a 1 pm flight and in a Neptune suite….I can’t remember if that means we can leave when we want if getting our own transportation. If we do the bus, what time does the group leave for the 11-2 flights?
  12. Thank you so much @Mary229 For that link. I just took care of my food allergy in under 2 minutes.
  13. Thanks so much. Terry. How do the price the upgrade when onboard. Do both have to upgrade or just the one who needs more connectivity?
  14. Wow. And it’s even a savings for them….same drink as the included but without the spirit. So odd!
  15. I sure wish in unlimited quantities instead of 12 for cruise duration. All I drink is Aha and I understand it’s hit or miss on finding onboard. I am guessing the Perrier they stock is not flavored.
  16. Thanks for this link. I see audio/video not supported in the included. Is that just for features like FaceTime? Or does it mean not being able to put things on Instagram?
  17. Not only can I eat breakfast on debarkation day, I can book specialty dining for that night. The ship docks at 7 am and home all go……but I can book dinners that night. They are not interested in hearing they have the dates wrong on the website 😂
  18. If you’re worried about germs from shoes in the hot tub, definitely don’t get in. They are not safe places to be. My son has had a solid organ transplant. One of the post tx rules is never get in a hot tub. I live in Hilton Head; so sort of a retirement area. Our neighborhood pool was closed one afternoon for a diaper accident…….it was NOT an infant/child. And I think the argument can be made that Crocs or Tevas ARE water shoes. It might not be what they were intended for but they fit the bill of protecting your feet. I don’t have a problem with it. Not sure how the crocs would stay on and not float but Tevas particularly are suited for water
  19. They didn’t correct the website. Anyone booking for the last night and not actually looking at the date is going to be disappointed.
  20. I had not. Thank you so much for the link!
  21. I just booked a bike trip to the falls from Quebec. We ride along the river
