  1. Missing GSC is nothing compared to having your cruise screwed up by a hurricane. We were on the Escape in 2017? It went from a 7 day cruise to Bermuda to a run down to Port Canaveral, Nassau and a day at GSC. Two other cruise lines made it to Bermuda no problem since the hurricane shifted. We made it down to PC, found out later that day we were going to miss both Nassau (no room) AND GSC. We had a very slow 3 day cruise back to NYC. I've never seen so many angry people Lol
  2. NCL'S Website has to be the most glitchy site I have ever used
  3. Ditto, we like traveling with friends. Heather and Ken have traveled with us out west, the Outer Banks, Florida, Europe and the cruise.
  4. Its not the rain the stops the ships, its the wind and waves. They really need to invest in a pier
  5. These work great, being using them for years https://amzn.to/46IO5fq
  6. Friends of our did the same thing with to us on the Dawn out of Tampa. We were suppose to go to Bermuda together the summer before, Heather had fallen and broken her foot. Fast forward 5 months later my wife and I are on board, I'm texting my buddy Ken and he is telling me how lousy the weather is at home etc... We go and do our lifeboat drill and get back to our cabin for sail away. Their is a note on the door (NCL) stating we must come to guest services to pick up a package. I'm thinking what the heck is this about? We walk down to guest services and get in line, my wife is in front of me. I feel a top on my shoulder and sure enough its Heather and Ken. To say we were surprised was an understatement. Now here is the weird part. Heather and Ken booked the cruise about 2 weeks prior to the sail date. When she called she was able to give NCL our names, find out what cabin we had, what excursions we had booked etc... so much for privacy Lol
  7. Gives you 2 more hours in St Thomas, plenty of time to head over to St John which is much nicer than St Thomas
  8. That was fast, Great video, very well done
  9. Glad to see someone understood what I was saying
  10. I wouldn't be person 5 and 6 for free... maybe if I was a kid or in my teens..... No thanks
  11. Its safe, funny thing is the mags are all gone, thing of the past but the name stuck
  12. Yea, I've tried them a few times and they were always pretty bad. The best biscuits and gravy I have every had was at Biscuits and Porn in Nags Head. They are so good by 7am the line will be 50 people deep and it will be like that until they run out https://www.biscuitsnporn.net
  13. I'm tempted to bring a bidet on our new cruise lol https://amzn.to/4aifUhN
  14. The Getaway Haven Courtyard does NOT have a roof. You might want to consider getting Thermal Spa Passes for that November cruise
  15. Funny, on our first cruise in 2010 I grabbed one of my ditch bags from our boat. It fit nicely into our checked luggage. It contained among other things, one of my handheld EPIRBS and VHF
  16. You are right having to close the curtains is not a negative. I'm going to enjoy sitting on that big deck watching the stars
  17. My wife and I have been on 14 NCL cruises from the Sun to the Escape. I've never seen any reports about forward suite cabins having a noise issue. Like you the only "negative" about those cabins I have read about are how the curtains need to be closed at night and people complaining about wind
  18. If you had that much noise in cabin 9500 how much noise did the other cabins below you have? Did your cabin neighbors have a problem? This makes me slightly worried since we have 10500 booked on the Gem in June.
  19. Thanks, not that I drink the pool water but I never noticed a hint of chlorine in any of the outdoor pools I've been in on NCL ships
  20. Are the outdoors pools on the ship chlorinated? I was under the impression they were just filled and drained each day
  21. I agree, but honestly its not rocket science. You need to use X amount of chlorine for X amount of gallons, run a simple test strip to check. I can only assume the balcony tubs are so basic they don't have any type of automatic chlorine system. I would think it would be easy enough to have a tablets in a float... thats what I have in mine at home
