  1. What ship and date are you sailing? My wife and I are on the June 28th cruise on the Gem A few years back in the on the Escape we were headed to Bermuda from NYC. Because of a hurricane we never made it. The day of the cruise we found out we were headed to Florida and the Bahamas. We made it to Port Canaveral...... and that was it. It was announced later in the day on our PC day we would not be going to GSC or Nassau. It was too rough to tender and Nassau was full. We had a very long very slow 3 days back to NYC. We did not get any type of compensation
  2. It does not go into effect until 2025. Unfortunately our cruise on the Gem which was supposed to stop in Bar Harbor on July 4th is going to Portland. We were notified about a month ago. Bar Harbor is using the pier tenders dock at for their fireworks. What pisses me off is NCL must have known about this months ago. I was looking at Bar Harbors Harbor Master's calendar in January and the Gem was not on the list for July 4th back then
  3. You can use this email address norwegianconciergedesk@ncl.com Have your reservation number, cabin number, ship and sailing date when you contact them
  4. IDK if that is correct or not, I was emailed about a month ago for our upcoming cruise on the Gem You can norwegianconciergedesk@ncl.com and tell them what you want
  5. From Google...... The ship's 24 hour iConnect Internet Cafe can be found on deck 5 near the theatre and has a number of computer stations for guests to use along with a printer. Passengers can access the internet and emails on the computers for a per minute fee of $0.75, with printing charged at $0.50 per item.
  6. My wife and I did it a number of years ago we went to Orient Beach, about half the beach was clothing optional
  7. Thanks, already contacted the concierge desk and they know to remove everything. They also said one 750ml bottle will fit Thanks All!
  8. BINGO! On our last cruise we had been in our cabin for a couple minutes when our butler stopped by to introduce himself. We had some small talk and my wife ask if he was married? any children? Nathanael's face lite right up! He started showing us photos of his wife and 2yo little girl. Probably one of the most pleasant human beings I've ever met.
  9. Knock on wood all of our butlers and room stewards in the Haven and in Suites have been great! Lack of menu variety? Spent 12 days in the Haven on the Getaway. Breakfast was excellent, ate there everyday. 9 dinners there, plenty to choose from less you are a picky eater We were escorted down 4 times to the small club to see shows, can in thru the back door. When they opened the doors I only heard one person griping about. Another Haven guest piped up to the person and said these are the perks if you want to pay the price.
  10. I know we can bring wine onboard, my question is how to store it. I forget if the refrigerators (Gem-Suite) can fit a bottle or two of wine. My wife would like to bring two bottles
  11. A little late but......
  12. True but you are forgetting one thing. Suite guest on the Gem get the same perks as the Haven guest (24? suite cabins). With the exception of the use of the Haven courtyard and sundeck. Breakfast, lunch, butler, concierge all the same. Our forward suite cabin was 3K less than the cheapest Haven cabin at time of booking. The Haven on the Gem for us wasn't even close to worth considering booking because of the price difference. Maybe on one of the away class ships it would have been
  13. My wife and I are going to Bermuda the end of June with friends who have never been with. They have been in contact with several private guides who are booked the day we arrive (June 30th). Are their tour guides standing by on arrival day to take 2 on a 5-6 tour? Asking here because they are not on CC Thanks
  14. The Haven cabins on the Gem come in a number of sizes. From a one bedroom all the way up to a 3 bedroom. Our forward (non Haven suite on the Gem for the June 28th sailing was $6200 all in with the beverage package, taxes etc...
  15. Yes the full time population is about 5K. However the in season or summer population goes to about 20K in the area. 85% of those 15K extra people who "Summer" are not part of the median household income of 67K. I have a friend who owns a shop in Bar Harbor. All the businesses want as many people they can get since a lot are closed during the winter. He hopes they didn't shoot themselves in the foot
  16. Here is some great brand new drone video of the Joy going out of NYC
  17. Problem is its not the businesses, its the wealthy home owners who live in and around the town
  18. I can't think of one. Our guy who we used 13 years ago is retired. I would just google it. Most of them are private operators. If they are not booked they are waiting at the pier. You would laugh at the amount of stuff I carry. This time around it will be my MBP, two action cameras (go pro and DJI). My DJI pocket that I use for video of cabin tours, underwater scooter, drone, and all the crap that goes along with that. We also take snorkeling gear and two very small very light weight folding beach chairs.
  19. Thanks.... Check out H20 Sports https://www.h2osportsbermuda.com You can rent a kayak and paddle to these small islands, they all have beaches. They are a neat place to go..... https://www.google.com/maps/@32.3110058,-64.8631178,885m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu
  20. I always suggest to people going to Bermuda for the first time is the first day book a private 5-6 hour tour. Don't go thru NCL, plenty of private companies to use. Doing a 5-6 hour tour gives you a great way to see a lot of the island. Day two and three you can hit the beaches
