  1. Thanks for sharing😀...LET'S GO🙂
  2. Congrats😀 that is a milestone. So, you receive a free cruise, on top of that free laundry😀
  3. Hi, yes, I have a supplemental plan too......Mutual of Omaha. I already paid the first bill though.......it was only 95.00 and I thought that was the whole thing and paid it. Now I am getting another bill. I will call the Drs office on Monday. Thanks for the help.
  4. Maybe I have just been lucky but I would say the majority of kids who have been on my particular cruises have been quite small (total number).......nothing comes to mind that there were ever "tons of children" on board. My sailing last week? There were 2 boys (not sure if they were brothers or just friends) but they were probably in the 12-13 year old range....I never saw them mis behaving anywhere. There was a young couple with their baby. I am guessing she was not a year old. She was so good.....never heard a peep out of her. Now of course she will never remember this cruise LOL..... I was on the Dawn in January on a Caribbean cruise and yes, there were some families on that cruise with their kids. Trying to think back on it......I was always in the shaded area at the pool and I think those kids were pretty well behaved. As for other cruise lines? Yes, Disney, Royal and Carnival are all "family oriented" but I guess the adults want to sail SS..........I guess SS is not going to tell those families they don't want their $$$.
  5. I agree with checking out the discount stores.........Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Ross are a few examples. They usually have good prices on "carry on style" bags.......personally, I prefer a wheeled carry on but I think you are looking for something specifically for excursions...is that correct? I would try to find something in a tote style for that type of event.
  6. Hi girls, most of ya'll probably know I went on Medicare last month. I had my first Dr's appointment last month too (on this new plan)........not sure why I thought Medicare would cover the appt and the lab work. I have recently received 2 invoices........now, they did cover a portion of the bills but I guess I didn't realize I would still owe money....such is life.
  7. Hi Kat, I didn't realize you sail this weekend, you do? I hope you have a wonderful time🙂
  8. I agree with you. The Capt Cook was ok.......I got in very late so I needed a clean place to sleep and shower. It served its purpose. The Denali Lodge? Everyone kept saying there are no 5 star properties in that area........and this was one of the nicest.......not so much.
  9. I also went to Alaska last summer with the Denali Tour.....I agree with the previous poster about the accommodations. We stayed at 3 different properties and I would say only 1 was really nice. First night was at "The Captain Cook" in Anchorage.......next was "The Grand Denali Lodge"........nothing very grand about it. It was ok but nothing special and the last place was the nicest......and for the life of me, now I cannot think of the name....Oh I remember, it was the Aleyska Resort. I would definitely say this was the nicest of the 3.
  10. Good morning, you might want to go directly to the Windstar forum and ask the folks on there about the line. The same for Seabourn and Royal. Just so you know, Windstar and Seabourn are in a totally separate category from Royal.......Royal ships are huge with lots and lots of guests. Windstar ships hold on the average of 300(some even less)........Seabourn a bit larger. Seabourn is considered a luxury line. Another suggestion is to find a Travel Agent that specializes in cruising and get help on a 121 basis. Good luck in your search🙂
  11. Oh, I should have posted I did have 2 negative service issues....had dinner with a couple one evening and the service was VERY, VERY slow......actually we had to go to the Maitrd about it because the waiter seemed to have forgotten us.........the food finally came and at least it was hot and tasted good. (There were people on both sides of us who had been served and cleared before we got our entrees)......it was VERY strange. And the other was a mishap in LaTerrazza for breakfast......they seemed to have forgotten me there too. I had even ordered off the menu and the order came out wrong. By then, I got up and left and went to the Arts Cafe........I spoke with the Maitr'd after the mishap about it. I just was too annoyed to say anything at that moment. Breakfast in Atlantide was always quite good though......go there🙂 But those were my 2 biggest negatives so overall the cruise gets an 8.5--9.00 out of 10
  12. Hi, I am sailing on The Dawn out of Southampton in late August😀. first time to any of the places on the itinerary for me and the last time I was even in London? OMG...back in the late 70s.......so really it is all new for me. 12 nights with the cruise ending in Copenhagen. I hope you and your friends have a wonderful cruise🙂
  13. The Muse is different from the Moon and Dawn as well........
  14. Hi, nope😀not the same JP......this one is from originally from Denver🙂
  15. You cannot walk from the hotel to the Delta terminal. I just stayed there on Friday night and had a flight home Saturday morning. You need to take the Air Train to the Delta terminal. (I flew Delta).
  16. Thought I would post about the staff/crew. Met some really lovely people, which I do on every cruise. The CD is a guy named JP and he previously worked for Seabourn. He was extremely personable and friendly and has a wonderful voice as well. He hosted a table and we had 5 who joined him for dinner in Atlantide one evening. It was a lot of fun. I saw a few folks from previous sailings too. The Future Cruise Consultant was Michael from South Africa and we had been on the same cruise last year when I was on Whisper. Irwin, was the Bar Manager. I had also sailed with and Wilma, one of the bartenders as well. Personally, I love seeing familiar faces🙂 and it always makes my cruise more fun. Anyway, if ya'll have any questions, I will be glad to try and answer them. Jazz, sorry, I forgot to get the number of gins on board but I know I saw at least 10 different bottles. So it looked like there were quite a few choices.
  17. Hi, thanks for your thoughts as well. My biggest issue was the lack of communication and when I asked someone? I was told nothing. So, yes, they eventually got us all back to the ship but in my opinion, they don't get a well done from me. But overall, I had a great time too. This was my 3rd time sailing Spirit and I would sail her again as well🙂
  18. Oh wow, I missed that last part......yes, yes, CONGRATS on your upcoming retirement!!!😀 FANTASTIC! I just retired in Dec 2019 and have not missed it one bit(work)..........I hope you love it too!
  19. Good morning girls, Cynthia, welcome home🙂 The ship is Silversea "The Dawn". I have sailed her twice before and she is one of my most favorite ships! The cruise starts on August 27th and ends on Sept 8th.
