  1. Yes. I did it a few days ago and in 1 way I regret it and in another, I’m very fortunate that I did it. Pro: Dan wanted to sail on Wonder in August. If I had not booked using the online tool, chances are good that there would have been no rooms available by the time I got around to calling. Con: It works very much like a GTY. There is no way (online) to choose a cabin so they assign you one, much like a GTY reservation. It seems that all of the comp level rooms are now gone, so we are stuck with the truly crappy location that we got. Dan has no interest in upgrading his booking, so it is what it is. Take it or leave it. They assign you a room, send you a confirmation and then give you 3 days to pay whatever you owe. We left on a cruise the day after I booked his comp so we were (are) onboard. We went to NextCruise where the gentleman gave us a phone number to call (via the ships phone) so that we could pay the balance and not lose the booking. I will not use this method again. I’m glad Dan got the sailing he wanted but I did not care for the process and won’t use it again.
  2. Booked both of ours yesterday. Dan wanted Wonder in August. I booked Mariner in October. Now only June remains as the only month that we do not have at least 1 cruise booked.
  3. Hmmmm….I hope you can get someone to help get your OBC increased !
  4. I recently upgraded a casino comp that resulted in the OBC being increased. I’m not sure if that was b/c it was a casino booking or not.
  5. I read a lot of praises for ELF but frankly, I find it rather filthy. Just like any buffet-style enterprise, things tend to get slung hither and yon. I tried going there a few times but it just turns me completely off. I am a Mexican food lover and it was completely unappetizing, to me.
  6. Explorer got a really nice new coffee machine during its dry dock. We really enjoyed it.
  7. This is precisely what I do...only in reverse. I fix myself a cappuccino and then top it off with a shot of espresso. I have found that if you do not add the extra espresso shot, you are really just getting a bunch of warm milk (very little froth) and a dribble of espresso. So I just juice it up a bit with an extra shot and I'm good-to-go.
  8. It’s not just you. Our offers are definitely downgraded despite the fact that we are cruising and gambling often. Disappointing
  9. Can’t speak for Indy…but on EX a couple of weeks ago, the line is shorter if you get there early and long if you don’t. Earlier is better.
  10. Depending upon the ship, the dining kiosk is normally on the Promenade fairly close to where you enter upon boarding. If you don’t see it right away just ask a crew member.
  11. You shouldn’t have problems getting your preferred dining time for most nights and venues. The first formal night (usually night #2) tends to fill up quickly. I recommend getting onboard as early as possible and be prepared to go to the specialty dining kiosk or one of the specialty restaurants to make your reservations ASAP. Izumi Hibachi may require some compromises.
  12. No. Just wear whatever you want. Don’t go in there in uncovered swimwear.
  13. We are also on VI 4-21-23. While we have sailed other Vision class ships, this will be our first time on Vision of the Seas.
  14. I've been on hold with Club Royale over 1.5 hours trying to make a minor change to a booking. So frustrating !
  15. Relax. The Genie will handle all of your bookings-food and entertainment. The first formal night will be the night of your first sea day (not counting boarding day). If you want to do the Chefs Table for formal night, then I do recommend that you and all of your traveling party who want to be together at the Chefs Table, go ahead and book it and pay in advance. The Genie will make sure you are reimbursed once you are onboard. The only other venue where this is recommended is Izumi Hibachi. There are limited seats for that so it is usually advised to precook that and the Chefs Table. The Genie will contact you well in advance and will provide you with a schedule of entertainment options. You will have plenty of time to coordinate with your group and decide which nights you want to do which events. Enjoy your first Star Class experience. It is incredible.
  16. There is still a suites area on Labadee. It’s just that the cabanas can now be rented by suites or non-suites. Non-suites can only access Barefoot Beach if they have rented a cabana.
  17. I concur. I have never had any trouble getting something deleted from my order. I don't eat cheese so I often tell them to leave off the cheese (whatever it happens to be) and they have never once denied me this request.
  18. First I’ve heard of this one….but it wouldn’t affect us, even if true. I have absolutely no reason to be in that stinky, smokey casino unless I’m gambling. I rarely get a casino drink, anyway.
  19. I can almost guarantee you that you will not be able to combine C&A discount with a casino discount.
  20. I did a quick look at prices for the OA 9/3/23 sailing. Full fare for a 4V is $1599 before any taxes or port fees….so $530 is definitely less than 50% of full fare. Agreed, the single supplement thing makes no sense at all…
