  1. I have had mixed results with a block very similar to that one. It was recently confiscated in Miami (Terminal G). I did not bother to retrieve it. Even though it may say "no surge protection" and perhaps there actually is no surge protection, but the screeners at the ports don't care about what it says....if they decide that it's not appropriate, it will be confiscated. It's almost 100% guaranteed that anything with a power cord will be confiscated. I have used the one below for my past few cruises and so far, no issues. I completely understand that these look almost identical to what you are showing, but these plug into the Euro plugs rather than the US plugs.
  2. Yes, the suites concierge will make your specialty dining reservations before you board if you have the UDP.
  3. Yep. You’re right. I had forgotten about the free pressing. No laundry though that I am aware of.
  4. Only if you are D+ or Pinnacle. The only cabin category that includes laundry service as an amenity is Star Class.
  5. I don't see this as a huge deal. It will just be less to pay at the end.
  6. Yes ! This is a very good example of how your Genie can help. Even if your non-SC friends have no dining package at all, the Genie can (and will) include them in any dining reservations that you want. They will need to understand that they will pay full price for their meals, but it will not preclude them from dining with you or from having the Genie make their reservations along with yours. A number of years ago, we were traveling with a large group. We all wanted to eat at Wonderland (something I will never do again, BTW). 4 of us were SC but all of the others were GenPop and had no dining packages. The non-SC just paid for their meals at the end but the Genie made the reservations for the entire group. Sorry, but I do not know Carlos. Sadly, many of the former Genies we have used over the years are no longer with Royal...there are so many new Genies. I know very few of them anymore.
  7. Our most recent Genie (Oasis, Dec 2022) was Alan F. Actually, he is our least favorite Genie although many SC pax really like him. I’m not sure who the Genies are on OA currently. I know you will have a wonderful time whoever your Genie is. You should be hearing from him/her soon now !
  8. My objection to booking onboard with NC is that the NC staff are SO inconsistent with the booking “rules “. Sometimes I am able to upgrade when I book, sometimes I have to wait and upgrade later by phone; sometimes I can put my TA info on the booking and sometimes I have to wait and move the booking over to the TA later, by phone. I just wish I could do it ALL at once and not have to call, later.
  9. We were in a JS last month on EX and our room attendant told us that JS still get 2X per day. I assume that is a fleet-wide rule, but who knows....
  10. You will always have seats when you are SC. No worries. In fact, you can choose whichever particular seats you want ! No prior reservations required for shows when you are SC.
  11. Complimentary beverages are only available in the SL on Q class ships during happy hour.
  12. The daily limit on cash draws at the tables is $5000 per account. I don’t know if that’s the same for machines or not.
  13. I’ve read differing results on having the casino discount applied to “remaining” days (after using your free C&A days). Mostly I hear that the casino discount only applies when you purchase an internet package for the entire sailing. I will find out shortly as I intend to try it in July on Serenade. I will be pleasantly surprised if I am able to use both my C&A discount and my casino Prime discount.
  14. That’s very peculiar. It seems weird that Royal would convert a revenue- generator (modest though it was) into a non-revenue space.
  15. Really ? That's a shame. What did they put in its place ?
  16. In the past (and very rarely, even then), they would have a GS GTY which was a guarantee of at least a GS but I haven't seen one of those in many years. If you're seeing a regular Suite GTY, it will almost certainly yield a JS.
  17. Yes. ...unless you are Prime level or above, you will be charged 5% on all table draws on your Seapass. I believe you can still draw money from your Sea Pass account on the slot machines without incurring a charge.
  18. Super glad that you were able to find the problem and rectify it. Let's hope the Gestapo....I mean, IRS...will let it go....
