  1. Good morning everyone.  We have another beautiful sunny day in store with less wind. I woke up with a chest cold although I was perfectly fine when I went to sleep last night.  Thanks for reminding me to refill the stapler.  Love today’s quote, ain’t that the truth!  No on the meal and drink, I don’t like Campari. I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to all of you who are celebrating happy events!  Happy birthday to @grapau27’s DW Pauline and many more.🎂

  2. Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report, recipes and lists.  Beautiful sunny day here.  Three nice days to recognize, I just cleaned out our home office last week so I can skip that.  Not sure about today’s quote, there’s so much here that I’d like to discover that’s a known.  The meal and drink suggestions sound nice.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list and condolences to @Nickelpenny on your loss. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today!  Happy birthday to @Quartzsite Cruiser and @Overhead Fred’s Mitzi! 🥂

  3. Good morning from a sunny, windy and cold Boston.  Thanks for the daily updates.  I don’t think that I’ll celebrate the days today but I do like the quote.  The meal and drink suggestions sound nice.  I’ve been to today’s port several times but not by ship.  Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today.  Happy birthday to @dfish’s sister Sue! 🎈🥂

  4. Good morning everyone from a cool, overcast Boston.  Three nice days to recognize, I find genealogy fascinating.  Are fanny packs still a thing?  Interesting quote that makes sense coming from an artist.  The meal suggestion sounds tasty but I’ll skip the drink.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for everyone on the prayer list and for Graham’s Sarah on her loss.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today! 🍾

  5. Good morning from a sunny, cloudless Boston.  Happy Friday to everyone.  Thanks for the daily updates.  I would never celebrate being nasty but I will celebrate the others. My middle name is my father’s first name, Gerald.  I’ve always liked peanut clusters, I seem to recall one that sold in candy stores called Bun.  Unfortunately the quote can be true sometimes.  The meal and drink suggestions sound tasty.  I’ve never been to today’s “port” but I did watch an excellent series about it hosted by David Attenboro on my flight home from Ft. Lauderdale.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today!

  6. Good morning everyone from a cool rainy Boston.  Thanks for the daily report, recipes and lists.  Thank you Mr. Bell for your invention that we can’t live without.  No name tags necessary here.  Not sure what to make of the quote.  The meal and drink suggestions sound very good.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for everyone on our list and please add my friend and prior colleague Lauren and her family, who has a recurrence of a very aggressive cancer and has begun hospice care.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today! Happy Birthday to @RedneckBob🍾

Sorry for not posting for a while. Life got in the way.

We have been feeling very sad for a few days. Out of the blue my dog Sam has taken a turn and I will need to put him down. He has been getting weaker due to his hip dysplasia, All of a sudden on Thursday night he let out a shriek! It became very painful it seemed to rise. He was very restless after that and I ended up laying on the floor next to him trying to sooth him. Friday I spoke to the vet and doubled his pain medicatio. Somehow we got through the weekend as he got worse as his front legs were now causing problems. The vet came yesterday morning to the house (Sam is 120 pounds and unable to get in a car) to evaluate him. He has even less muscle mass in his rear legs and could have underlying issues beginning to materialize. The decision I madw was to put him down at home on Friday morning.

We have only had him 2-1/2 years and we knew what we were in for. The rescue organization classified him as a hospice dog to live the rest of his life in a kennel. But then I adopted himand gave him stability for his remaining years. His original owner had passed away and the family gave him up for adoption. He was adopted for four months but returned "as being too needy." After that , two foster homes until I got him. I had actually agreed to adopt him before letting my previous Alaskan Malamute Juno go at 13 years 2 months.

Sam has been the most affectionate dog I have ever owned. He will be the hardest to let go.

Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need.

    - Jack

God bless you @Heartgrove for adopting an older animal.  I have the utmost admiration and respect for folks that do so. You made Sam’s final years loving, happy and comfortable.  There’s a special place in Heaven for people like you.

  8. Good morning everyone from a drizzly, cool (46F) Boston.  The disorder today sounds terrifying, I remember reading Sybil years ago and it wigged me out.  I doubt that I’ll be honoring absinthe or cheese doodles.  Not sure what to think about today’s quote, it’s a bit deep for my slow moving brain this early.  The meal and drink suggestions sound good.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to those celebrating happy events today and happy birthday to @Quartzsite Cruiser’s DH Steve!🎈

  9. Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report.  Brain injuries are serious and can change a life in an instant.  Casimir Pulaski’s statue is in the Boston Public Garden tricorns off to him and his contributions during the Revolutionary War.  I’m sure he had many courageous followers.  Staying far away from the quote. The meal suggestion would be a nice side dish.  I would definitely try the drink.  I haven’t been to today’s port but based on all of the photos that have been shared it’s definitely on my bucket list. Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to those of you who are celebrating happy events! 🥂

  10. Good morning everyone.  It’s 40F and overcast here this morning.  Thanks for the daily updates.  My previous cat Max came from the Animal Rescue League in Boston and was a true gentleman, I’ll gladly celebrate today.  I have not had banana cream pie in years but I do love a homemade one.  I had to look up old stuff day and it doesn’t seem very aptly named as you're supposed to try something new today.  The quote is not always true as many of us know.  The meal sounds nice but not one I’d make myself.  The drink would be nice on a sunny Spring day, maybe Easter?  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Happy ________ to those of you celebrating your special day!

Last cruise in November on the Rotterdam I brought 2 bottles of good champagne. Went to the secondary station and gave them name and cabin number. Signed the slip and was never billed the $40. Appears to be pretty hit or miss.

I thought that we may have lucked out as well but upon reviewing our statement the corking fee showed up two days after embarking as a main dining room charge.

  12. Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.  Thanks for the daily updates.  Another cold start today, I think it will warm up by the time I join some former colleagues for lunch today.  Remember these that would hang on your door at nap time?  image.jpeg.0d56a0b9bda97c8ac42c318370e4796d.jpeg

Endometriosis awareness is very important as many women suffer from it.  I’ll celebrate peanut butter today by eating some peanut butter cookies.  I like today’s quote very much.  I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion as we’ll be having borscht and shrimp cocktail for dinner.  Not sure about today’s cocktail.  We were in today’s port in September, it was beautiful, hot and very crowded.  Prayers for those on our prayer list today.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events and happy birthday to @aliaschief!

  13. Good morning everyone and happy Leap Day!  It’s sunny, breezy and cold (27F) here in Boston.  I think I’ll celebrate toast day but not with a breakfast martini.  I like David Bowie’s quote.  The meal suggestion sounds delicious, I think it was one of the Club Orange selections on my Rotterdam cruise.  I have not been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list and for those who need them.  Cheers to those of you who are celebrating happy events!

  14. I’m loving your review so far. We were on the same cruise and your photos of the Retreat featured ours, #3. It totally made our cruise.  When we first booked in October, they were all sold out.  I called every three weeks or so until finally #3 became available.  I think I would have hated this cruise if I had to outsmart the chair hogs every day.  By the way, I’m originally from Northern Michigan.

  15. Good morning everyone from a mild, rainy Boston.  Thanks for the recipes and lists.  Nice days to celebrate, thanks @grapau27 for explaining them.  I think I’ll inconvenience myself today and return my library books.  I love the quote.  While the meal sounds nice it’s leftover pork and fennel stew niçoise tonight.  I made Monday’s meal suggestion yesterday and it was outstanding.  The drink sounds like a refreshing summer beverage.  I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for those on today’s prayer list.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today; happy anniversary to @superoma! 🍾

  16. Good morning everyone from a sunny and mild Boston.  Long flight yesterday as we connected through Detroit but we (and our bags) made it in one piece.  Thanks for the daily report recipes and lists.  Our sense of smell is very important as many of us who lost it during Covid can attest.  Majestic Polar Bears are under stress from loss of habitat.  I like Kahlua, maybe a splash in my coffee would make me forget that vacation is over!  The quote by Mr. Twain is one I’ve tried to live by, surround yourself by those who will help build you up.  I think I’ll forgo today’s meal suggestion for yesterday’s pork and fennel stew Provençal.  The drink could be interesting.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on today’s prayer list, I’m glad to hear that @summer slope’s Mohs procedure went well yesterday.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today! 🍾

  17. Good morning everyone from sunny Ft. Lauderdale. We disembarked Rotterdam yesterday and spent last night at the Riverside Hotel as airfares were much less expensive today.  Rotterdam was a lovely ship with a few misses for us the main one being the smoking in the casino that permeated a lot of the surrounding areas on decks 3 and 2.  Didn’t care for the promenade and the elevator wait times were a lot longer than we’ve experienced on other HAL ships.  First world problems for sure.

Thanks for today’s daily report, recipes and lists.  Nice days to celebrate today, we should always try and carpe diem if possible.  The complete quote is very true, friendship does and give life color/colour.  The meal suggestion sounds tasty but even if the drink were I’ll skip it due to its name.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events!

  18. Good morning everyone from the sunny Caribbean as we steam towards Half Moon Cay. Today is DH’s birthday and we’ll finally get to dine in Rudi’s Sel de Mer, no cookies for me!  Thanks for the daily report, recipes and lists.  Two great days to celebrate and one necessary evil. Curling is cool, that’s a fact and where would we be without diesel engines.  I got to witness an old man bully this morning berating a barista because he didn’t hear his name called when his coffee was ready all the while scolding with his mouth full of food, disgusting behavior and manners.  Nice quote but he left out death and taxes!  The drink sounds like something I’d have at Halloween.  I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for those on our prayer list today, maybe one for the nasty old man so that he’ll change his ways.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today!  Happy birthday @lindaler ! 🥂

  19. Good morning everyone from the Caribbean Sea.  The ocean is smooth today, I thought we were crawling until I looked out and saw that we are moving at a good clip.  Today will be a lazy day in our cabana reading and relaxing.  Thanks for the daily report.  Not sure how you’re supposed to celebrate 222 and spit out so I’ll just try to be humble.  Two interesting quotes to ponder this morning.  Think I’ll pass on the meal, I always find lettuce wraps messy and not worth the effort.  Maybe on the drink.  I have not been to today’s port but am enjoying all the photos, thanks for sharing.  Prayers for those on our prayer list and for those who need them.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events!

  20. Good morning everyone from sunny Aruba.  Our plans are to visit the butterfly farm, DH has to avoid getting sun so Eagle Beach is out, sadly.  The times of our visits to the ports has been altered somewhat but it’s all good in the end.  Thanks for the daily report, an interesting collection of days to celebrate today, think I’ll skip card reading day though.  The quote is funny.  I think I’ll pass on the meal but say yes to the drink suggestion.  I haven’t been to the port.  Prayers for those on our prayer list and to those who need them.  Cheers to those who are celebrating happy events today! 🥂
