Have never had commercially smoked salmon because I smoke my own. 10th & M in Anchorage specializes in all types of fish. Just smoked about 35# Yummy

Been to China and Thailand for 10days.each. Granted climate was warm but went with carry on and back pack. Brought older socks, underwear, and shirts. Discarded them when used thus having room for souvenirs if needed. Worked out great!

Flew thru Seattle once and never again. Had 45 min. layover but had to run to other terminal to catch flight which was already boarding.

Mosquitos are usually bad in wooded areas. Am going up there next week for 5 weeks. My nephew who lives outside of Anchorage claims the bugs are bad this year. Also if you bring repellant on the plane it must be 3 oz. or less.

Sounds like my experience on the Seaside shortly after it first sailed. I was constantly lied to by different staff and when disputing it with GS the only result was them saying " there must have been some misunderstanding". That is not my idea of a vacation thus done with MSC.

Have done plenty of ocean fishing and have never gotten sick. I use the all natural , non-drowsy Dramamine (ginger pills) and bring a box of ginger snaps to nibble on. Works for me.

Mooses Tooth for pizza. It also is a distance from downtown. Humpys downtown isn't bad either.. Glacier Brewhouse is the best but better make reservations.

I would also keep an eye on your CC bills!

My son in law passed before our scheduled cruise that we booked on Royal thru a TA. The TA would not let us cancel but issued us a FCC. Royal would not respond but told us it was the TA's call. I finally e-mailed an executive at Royal and had a very sympathetic response and was refunded within 2 weeks. Don't know what MSC will do but with my first and last dealings with them I think you will get no where. As far as I'm concerned they are pirates.

The most important thing not to miss on any ship by a newcomer is departure !!!!!

Did a Disney cruise 5 years ago and I felt it was not worth the money. Did a RCCL cruise on the Freedom a year or 2 later. My 3 grandchildren loved it compared to Disney. Was to go on a cruise in 2020 and hands down they wanted Royal. Was cancelled cue to Covid, Should be greater now as they have revamped some of their ships. Asked TA why Disney is so expensive and she said you pay for the magic. She was right. They magically remove the money from your pockets!!!

Wonder if the Cooper Landing resort will be closed also. That's my watering hole when I"m fishing down there.

For the past 3 years I have gone to the 4th of July Car Launch in Glacier View. It is near the Matanuska Glacier and is a hoot! You won't find much fireworks up there because there is a ban on them from the fire danger. Google it and check it out.
