  1. OMG, that cartoon running in the background during dinner would drive me nuts! 😱 Food looks great, though.
  2. It gets better and better. They're making it up as they go along. 🙄
  3. Not holding my breath... At least I'm "only" waiting for $200 and not thousands like some of you. 🙄
  4. Fascinating insight. It wouldn't be for me but I can totally see why the target demographic would love it. Thanks for sharing even if you weren't able to do it while you were on board. 😊
  5. Didn't know that. You learn some fascinating stuff on these boards.
  6. Yes. It definitely said 5 weeks. I saw it too.
  7. If it does show up, it'll likely be listed under the "Activities" tab, along with stuff like cupcake decorating.
  8. Yes, but it's fiddly. I want it handed to me on a plate. 😂
  9. Interesting. I'm not seeing it, although I'd like to. I hope it becomes general. It used to be an option several years ago until it was removed during an "enhancement". I always found it useful because it meant I could search in the specific date range I was interested in without having to wade through dates that were useless to me.
  10. The "when" is truly a lottery. I have a gty cabin on a cruise next July and still waiting. Some people literally don't find out until days or even hours before. As far as your location is concerned, one good thing is that you have cabins above and below, which means you are less likely to be bothered with noise. Another thing I can say is that the corridors are veeeeery loooooooong on these big ships, so there will be a lot of walking! Try not to forget stuff that you need when you leave the room as it takes ages to go back for anything!
  11. I wish you could see this info on the phone as it's very helpful. Can't have everything I guess.
  12. Royal's TA itineraries are typically boring and lacking in originality. However, that said, both Madeira and La Coruña are decent ports. I haven't ported in Le Havre so can't speak to that other than to say that Paris it's not! Might be a good option for someone interested in visiting the Normandy Beaches. Although I have never sailed with Norwegian, I have noticed that they have much more interesting TA itineraries and many of them seem to leave from NY if the departure area is an important consideration.
  13. OP is from Dublin, so that may not be an option for them.
  14. Ugh, actual muster. I remember reading on another board that Disney were reverting to that. 😞
  15. Nope. Purchased 2 x 1 device internet packages on the 18th because the multiple device packages weren't priced correctly. On the 19th the problem had been fixed so I cancelled those two in order to be able to purchase the 2-device package. If it hadn't been for the fact that you can only buy the internet package once per person per voyage, I would just have bought the additional one and waited to cancel the unwanted ones on board. The one and only time in the past where I cancelled cruise planner items it took them 3 months to refund me and only after my TA intervened.
  16. I agree. With the pared-down menu options, we'd be struggling to find something to our liking on more than one night. 😞
  17. "little britain" is a highly regarded and very knowledgeable UK cruiser on these boards. @soremekun is tagging her to make sure she sees your post. 🙂
  18. Great advice from @ballarinamom. We sailed twice on Explorer as a family of 4 when the kids were younger. On both occasions we were in an oceanview. Yes, it was tight, but when it's what your budget allows you make it work. I'm not sure if Explorer still has the showers at the entrance to the gym but if it does one of the adults could shower there to take some pressure off the bathroom in the cabin. @cruisant, if you can possibly stretch your budget to an oceanview, it is a nicer experience than the inside simply because of having daylight and a window to look out of. But if you can't, don't sweat it; just look on your cabin as a place to sleep and shower. There are loads of places around the ship to enjoy and tons of activities and you'll have a blast regardless.
  19. I noticed, purely by chance, that during the whole black Friday/cyber Monday business, if you were booking a balcony cabin you did get the C&A balcony discount because it was more than the BF/CM discount but on suites it was the opposite.
