    It was really great.He left NY in 1978.We never lost touch but did not see each other except for a 2007 visit.

    We have only cruised to North and South America and have never booked an excursion in advance of port day.

    We were booked to be on a cruise on the Americanis in 1973 but on its return to NYC it developed engine trouble and our TA offered either a complete refund or a booking on the Cunard Ambassador.We opted for the latter.

    My father came to the US when he was an adult in 1913 on a ship that sailed from the UK.Somewhere in my house is a photocopy of a dinner menu.If I am able to find it I will post it .The food choices were comparable to current menu items .

    He had been planning to come with his wife but she had a bad fall last week and could not travel.One of his sons made the trip instead and he enjoyed our conversations .

    He is a cancer survivor.He told his wife that if he had a successful surgery he wanted to go to NY and NJ to visit with longtime friends that he has not seen in many years.

    I had a very nice day today.My good friend who I have known since 1947 came to NY from the west coast and came to my house today. We reminisced about our wonderful childhood days.

    I have ulcerative colitis .The gluten free pizza is something I can eat.

    If only they could bring in pizza from Sorrento’s .My favorite food on every cruise I have ever been on.

    Normally I never watch any kind of football game but today I am roooting for Indiana .Considering that OS is only up by 7 there could be a huge upset today.

    In 2002 we were in New Orleans on vacation.We were in a bar and there was an announcement that a local resident ,a huge Jimmy Buffet fan was going to be singing there later that night.I forgot how the guy was introduced but it was Jimmy Buffet .That was a great evening.

    A guy who I have been friends with since 1947 arrived in NY yesterday from his home on the west coast of the US .We will be getting together on Monday .Although we are in contact by phone and e-mail due to both of us dealing with serious medical issues we last saw each other in 2008.

    They were all male on the cruise I was on.

    The Royal Swedes were amazing but when I saw them in a lounge in 2019 they asked for requests from those of us who came to see them.They did not know the 3 songs that I mentioned .These were not obscure songs.

    At one time in my life I had a friend who enjoyed eating middle eastern food .We would often go to Moroccan ,Lebanese and Palestinian restaurants in NYC.

    Why would I seek validation to dine somewhere ? I am ,in essence starting a conversation .If you wish you can add add to said conversation .

    When I was in my teens going to a Chinese restaurant once a week was the norm.I cannot recall the last time I dined in a Chinese restaurant.
