  1. I wonder if it will be Radiance class like spring 2023 where Radiance sales on 7, 9, or 10 night cruises with several that go to CoCo Cay.
  2. This is what is so frustrating and why we stopped leaving out of Galveston until they brought Allure in. Just sailing for the ship. There’s no reason they cannot offer other stops out of Galveston.
  3. I was going to do UDP on Allure for Xmas but I decided to just pay per restaurant to ensure I got the reservations I wanted. I had to rearrange stuff to get all the reservations I wanted with UDP on Odyssey at thanksgiving.
  4. Trying to hit D+ in 2023 so we have several booked. We were on Odyssey for thanksgiving and our next cruise is at Christmas. Allure - Xmas 2022 - Western Caribbean Serenade - March 11, 2023 - Bahamas Radiance - June 30 - Alaska Northbound Radiance - July 7 - Alaska Southbound Wonder - November 19 - Western Caribbean Odyssey - December 23 - Southern Caribbean Odyssey - December 31 - Eastern Caribbean We will hit D+ on the Xmas 2023 cruise.
  5. I’ve used Victor Bodden every time I have been in Roatan. I am on the same sailing as the OP. They are booked sold on private tours but have availability for most of their group tours. Tabyana Beach is West Bay and that’s going to be $15 per person each way for a taxi. So someone else said the ship may be cheaper if you just want to West Bay.
  6. I am looking forward to my Spring Break Bahamas cruise on Serenade out of Tampa. Grand Bahamas, Nassau, Bimini, and CoCo Cay.
  7. It varies from employee to employee. I was on Odyessy and one of the baristas would do a one punch iced coffee but the other one would not. Same goes for wait staff in speciality restaurants not using vouchers(or charging) when ordering with Diamond vouchers. I expected them to ring up the vouchers every time but they seemed to do it only about a 3rd of the time. Not that I am complaining.
  8. Are we talking about the US? It’s terrible idea to book domestic flights in the US that far out.
  9. The only shows they don’t change are Effectors, The Book, and Showgirls. The headliners are usually different week to week. Mo5aic was great last week. The two comedians were underwhelming but it’s not their fault, they are limited on what they can do. I wish Royal still did an adult only late night comedy show like they used too.
  10. 12 to 14 day TAs can often be as cheap or cheaper than a 7 day Caribbean. Just look At Symphony’s TA in March 2023. 12 nights for $428 per person for an inside cabin.
  11. I’d love to have the Falmouth option on a 7 nighter out of Galveston on an Oasis class ship.
  12. Well, it seems with Allure and then Harmony RCCL has decided to do the same ports every week, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. Maybe they did this before now I don’t know as I haven’t sailed out of Galveston in awhile but they used to offer other ports on 7 nighters. Western Caribbean out of Florida usually have 4 ports instead of 3 which is another reason Galveston is cheaper besides Allure being the least updated Oasis class ship.
  13. Im not so sure about that. Other than a handful of dates Allure is cheaper than other Oasis class ships. One particular week is sky high compared to other ships and that’s the March 10 cruise. But that’s comparing to other Oasis class ships. I’m booked on the Allure Xmas cruise and when I switched ships from Florida to Galveston, I saved $2500($1250 per person) for same cabin category. Granted that was going from Wonder to Allure but Allure was the cheapest of the Oasis class ships at the time. That was two weeks before final payment. Prices definitely shot up as it started to sell out all categories in November. That said the price I paid for Allure Xmas is still $500($250 per person) less than next years Harmony Xmas cruise. As for the OP, for the dates I can travel I don’t really see much difference, with the exception of Suites. Suites just seem to be ridiculously priced now. I got spoiled on Adventure out of the Bahamas when we had a suite right at the very beginning of start up but I just cannot justify any Suite pricing right now. But I only sail during the highest peak weeks. So I’m always dealing with Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years, Spring Break(2nd or 3rd week of March) and the first two weeks of July. I think my next cruises after Xmas on Allure(classic Oasis) will be a tour of Oasis class ships. Oasis during Spring Break then do Harmony first week of July Sat to Sat then hop up to Wonder for Sun to Sun the second week of July. The prices don’t seem to be that bad to me. I have Icon booked for Spring Break 2024. If I could take two days off before and after Spring break I would have booked they dirt cheap TA on Symphony.
  14. The main thing is Princess has access to areas RCL doesn’t because RCL doesn’t have the permits.
  15. Weather and animal sitings in Alaska are a crapshoot. I’ve been fortunate to have two cruises on Radiance where there was no rain and most days were sunny and warm but that is not typical. Radiance cruises are cruises for the ports not the ship as it is older but intimate and well maintained. It doesn’t have all the things newer ships but does allow for other options like pre or post cruise tours. Those are on my to do list as B2B on Radiance.
  16. Didn’t do the 270 Technical Experience? It’s a ~$35million venue that relies on technology. The robotic arms, screens and projectors which are all heavily used throughout the show. Without the technology there is little story(well seven different stories) in the show. As for The Effectors, Two parts of Effectors are really good, two parts are comically bad(like terrible); and one average but only because of the technology as the song selection is a bit off.
  17. Effectors in the Main Theater is worse than the Book in 270 in my opinion. That said both are overly reliant on technology and their storylines are thinner than a sheet of paper.
  18. Just off Odyssey. Our cabin steward put a solid white plastic card in the switch during turn down on the first night. Prior to that we just used one of our sea pass cards.
  19. I’m assuming you are on the last Sunday to Sunday cruise on December 11? Leaving anytime prior to 9 should be fine. But if you use Royal’s transfers they will assign you and earlier time. Now if you are on the Dec 18 5 nighter or the Xmas cruise you will get to experience Houston traffic on Fridays proceeding majorly holidays, which can lead to some of the worst Houston traffic. Your cruise will be heavily Texan.
  20. Because it can save a lot of money and it usually works out. I’ve seen balcony guarantees go the the cost of insides. I’ve actually had an inside guarantee net me a ocean view balcony on one of my Alaskan cruises.
  21. Ive never been compensated for missed ports beyond taxes and fees and I have missed about five or six over the year years. On my Baltic and Med B2B years ago I missed three ports and had a fourth cut short, two because of terrorist attacks and the other because of being stuck in Russia an extra day due to high seas. Sucks for everyone involved; the family of the medial emergency; the people onboard the people waiting to be on board. I was on a cruise this week and originally it was this cruise before I switched to a different ship the week before final payment.
  22. I’m in 11295 on Allure in December. How is the view from there? We booked it because we booked a neighborhood balancing guarantee for not much more than an inside cabin. We have RoyalUp bids in for other rooms.
  23. It can be anywhere from 30 days out to 2hrs after boarding. The norm is closer to sail date. But I am one of the few that was notified 30 days out that I had a winning bid. I went from obstructed balcony gty(was the same price of an inside cabin, didn’t realize it was an obstructed view gty when I booked) to an ocean view with large balcony on Odyssey. Currently waiting on my RoyalUp bus for my Xmas Cruise on Allure. I have a neighborhood balcony gty and have bids in for an ocean view balcony, ocean view with large balcony, ultra spacious ocean view with large balcony and a jr suite. I’m really hoping for the ultra spacious… but I’m 1 for 5 on RoyalUp bids at the moment.
  24. So I had my RoyalUp bid accepted 30 days before sailing last week. I booked a balcony guarantee for less than an interior guarantee on this cruise. I was assigned a dreaded obstructed view balcony on Odyssey. I am now in an ocean view with large balcony. Still saved $1000 over what I would have spent at my original booking.
  25. Utopia is likely to do its inaugural season in Europe correct? Do we think it will still debut in late Spring 2024? With Icon being unveiled and its sailing going to booking tomorrow, when do we think we will see summer 2024 Utopia bookings?
