  1. Old thread, but the information from @chengkp75 and others is still true! I drink the tap water on board all the time. No ankle swelling or other sodium chloride issues at all. Salt content in food is more of an issue! ~Nancy
  2. Hi @Leejnd4 I believe you are still onboard the PG. I would love it if you could come back after your trip or sooner, if you feel like it, to let us know how the cruise and excursions are going. Any information will be welcomed! How was the diving on Moorea? Thank you, ~Nancy
  3. I can't answer your question directly, but the Half Moon Bar on Rotterdam is very small and has no live music. It's just outside the entrance to Club Orange so I can't imagine that there would be any noise at all coming from there. Does Ocean Bar on Rotterdam ever have live music? I didn't see any on my November 2022 cruise. (Ocean Bar on the Signature and Vista ships have live music most days now I believe, but that's not your question!) ~Nancy
  4. And this other current thread about the same subject:
  5. I joined AARP after the program started and have a cruise booked for next year that was made before the program started. I joined AARP after the credit was announced and applied for the HAL credit with their form. My TA checked a few days later and the OBC was listed on my cruise!!! I'm four star. Happy for me, but dang, the HAL phone people need to be trained better and with consistency! ~Nancy
  6. OK, if attached to the HIA then I'm good with that because as a solo I do just pay for one HIA extra cost. Thanks for the clarification! ~Nancy
  7. Cosmos have Cointreau in them now so they are now $12. I thought they were fine with the orange liquor but Cointreau is a better version. This menu is from @Crew News wonderful website!! Roger Jett Photography - Digital Images in Time Roger Jett Photography (rogerjett-photography.com)
  8. Once again, as a solo I am paying the same fare as two people, but only get one $500 air credit per person while a couple in the same room would get $1000 air credit total for the same total fare. 😠 It's good I don't want to use Flight Ease anyway. ~Nancy
  9. DH is dear Husband. I was kind of wondering about what you wanted to do when traveling with your husband. 🤔 Yes, you can each have a card linked to your own accounts. I have done that when traveling with a friend. My travel agent booked it that way, so we each paid for our own charges on board. ~Nancy
  10. @WCB Thanks for the Moorea information as I will be going back there in February 2025. I've made note of the restaurant you went to. I wonder if the Intercontinental Moorea will be reopened any time soon. It's such a beautiful location it seems like some company would be interested in buying the property! Did anyone there mention if they had plans for it? ~Nancy
  11. Can you explain what you mean by "recycled throughout the ship"? The Lido does serve many/most of the items served in the MDR for dinner, plus many other items. Thanks, ~Nancy
  12. Smokers on the port side of the Seaview Pool would cause me to speak with a manager to get that stopped immediately! I never saw this on my Rotterdam cruise in November 2022. I'm not a smoker but am not super sensitive to smoke like many people are, however, I am often out at the Seaview pool in nice weather and would not allow smokers over on "my" side (port) of the area!! It's so good to hear you are having a good time! Thanks for reporting. ~Nancy
  13. The semi covered Taxi and Uber/Lyft pick up area was right outside the exit doors of Terminal 26 at Port Everglades. (This was a HAL ship, the Celebrity ship may be at a different pier) Taxis were lined up and the Lyft I called got there in 15 minutes even with lots of traffic on the surrounding road. There was plenty of ground staff directing cars and keeping things moving. Very easy. ~Nancy
  14. You quoted me but just to set the record straight I wasn't the one who called it High Tea, I called it Afternoon Tea. I included a thread entitled "High Tea" where the whole subject was discussed and clarified. 😉 Thanks, ~Nancy
  15. @canadianbear This is so great!! What a cute picture!! 😊 You two have an amazing time and welcome back to cruising!! ~Nancy
  16. Yes, HAL does have an afternoon tea served in the MDR. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it isn't a good atmosphere for tea nor is the food particularly interesting. There is no clotted cream for the scones! Horrors!! 😉 I always expect some nice live music during a tea such as classical piano, violins or such but there isn't any. Anyway, I quit going to the afternoon tea many years ago because the ambiance just seemed like a cattle call to the MDR. Sad. ~Nancy Recent thread on this subject is below:
  17. I read a couple of reviews of the added MDR entrees, and they don't appeal to me because of the type of spice used and the cost doesn't either. The menu for the Morimoto pop-up listed above does sound good though! It seems redundant to me to have two Asian inspired menu restaurants on the same ship, even if they both sound/are good. I would have preferred any new restaurant to have a different type of menu than the current ones. Maybe French Bistro, Indian, higher end Mexican or Spanish, for example. It's already a done deal apparently, but................... Does anyone else feel that a different type of food offering rather than another Asian would be preferable? ~Nancy
  18. Congratulations on starting your trip planning!! Which type/location of cabin did you decide on? I love the Nieuw Amsterdam and hope you do too. That is great that you are taking time to do some land exploration first, especially coming from so far. I haven't been to Alaska except on cruises so am hoping to fly there and rent a car for exploring also. Others here will let you know about Anchorage to Whittier soon, I'm sure. ~Nancy
  19. Those sunrise pictures coming into The City under "my" bridge are just beautiful! Your evening veranda pictures are of the same view I had from my Nieuw Amsterdam veranda last October 2022. Very pretty! ~Nancy
  20. Thank you for showing us the menus. The selection does look nice and there are several items that sound good to me. Like @Blackduck59 my next cruise/s are on ships that don't have Tamarind. Sigh. ~Nancy
