  1. We were on the seaside August 31st to September 7th. I thoroughly enjoyed the Udon noodles but I asked for some shrimp on them.
  2. One of you bring a bottle of Clamato and enjoy Bloody Caesars!
  3. Knowing this and loving our Bloody Ceasar's, we brought a couple of bottles and left them at each of the YC bars. They saved them to use for our drinks.
  4. Tell your TA of her food problems. They will let MSC know of the issues and they will deal with them. The most important thing is to communicate. Then MSC can respond. If you do not tell them, they cannot respond and then don't blame them. They will do everything in their power to make her happy. (PS, Luminae does an OK job, MSC does a GREAT job of providing what will make the passenger happy)
  5. I am guilty of hiding 25 ducks on VV. I would watch the discovery and see the smiles. Adults like ducks, too. I would put them in accessible places, like the railing in the elevator, in a planter, by a slot machine, or the seat of a chair. Nowhere that would upset the crew.
  6. The X Edge class ships have a great walking track, but it is not MSC. I prefer Yacht Club to the Suites on X. Their pricing is out of this world, and they have not perfected the "ship within a ship" model the way MSC has. X has tried to add MSC things, like private drop off for Retreat Luggage and an escort onto the ship, but they fell short on that, as they did by putting Lumenae on the side of the ship that is so open and loud it is like being in the MDR. I have read they have fixed some of this on the Ascent. We will be on Ascent, but the suite prices were too high. We don't like the window cabin they call a balcony cabin, so we have a rear veranda. I know the MSC ships are a bit like a maze, but hey, you just deal with it and enjoy all the amenities that are being offered. Where else can you find a glass floor several floors over a pool?
  7. There is no way I could spend 15 nights on VV. The food is the same every day. BORING!
  8. The lack of nearby restrooms is an issue on VV. Often, you have to walk all the way to the other side of the ship. As far as I'm concerned, most restrooms can all be mixed-gender as long as there are stalls.
  9. We have been on 2 VV. Although the food was good, there was no real menu changes. We did 5 days and 4 days and I can't imagine a longer cruise with the same food over and over. The pizza station is not open for lunch, nor is the ice cream. If all stations were open with more reasonable hours, it would have been more enjoyable. We didn't have any problem getting dining reservations. We tried all the restaurants within the 2 sailings. One thing I can recommend is the Bar at Razzel Dazzel. A hidden gem in the morning and before dinner. We went the second time because we bought the onboard certificate. That was our last VV. It was interesting to try, and I am glad we did but the food is a game stopper.
  10. That far, it has to be Business class. We are saving our AmEx miles
  11. We thought the Boulud dinner was too much to eat, too expensive, and too froo froo. We would not do it again. I would love to visit Japan, but the years are piling up.
  12. They had to have paid some company a Million Dollars to do this type of rebrand. You would think they would put that money into making the website work, lowering prices, or improving the food in the MDR. I have 2 X booked next year, but our 2024 cruises have been 2 on Virgin and 2 more in MSC Yacht Club. We are doing both the X cruises with friends who chose the itineraries, not by our choice. We have an Edge on Feb 3rd in an infinite veranda ( window cabin) and the Ascent on April 6th with a stern veranda. ( a real balcony)
  13. You got lucky! You can get a call answered, but the answers are not always correct. If you get an answer you don't like, call back!
  14. I am sure the orange will make the food taste better and reduce the prices. I am so glad they are spending the money on this.
  15. You could always Uber over! Yes, the itineraries are old, but we don't get off the ship until the Marine Sanctuary. Do you have status with another line that you could use?
  16. Yes, the price has gone up, but the food has gotten better, and we had great entertainment in the lounge in Feb.. It is a better deal than X, that's for sure. As far as Diamond, just reapply with your X status. Oh, and you still get chocolate, but it is no longer a ship :(. We tried VV twice. It was interesting, but we are over it. The food is the same every day. I can't imagine a long cruise with the same food every day. The food was better than Luminea. Virgin was definitely different!
  17. Why not just empty them into a plastic container? That way there is no problem with breakage.
  18. Me too! Are they just ignoring the past guests? After all, we know what they are doing with pricing and the fact that X is just not that attractive anymore. You'll find us in MSC Yacht Club, but that is going up, too. At least they offer something for the higher price.
  19. I would call and speak with someone else.
  20. Since Bug is hairless, he needs to be kept warm, hence the clothes. The ship, especially the bridge, is pretty chilly. I think what she does is adorable.
