  1. @majortom10 and @kruzseeka thanks for your replies - I wondered if that would be the case. Not sure I want to risk my chose trips being fully booked
  2. Hello all, help please. Possibly a silly question... with onboard credit is it only available to spend whilst onboard or can I purchase shore excursions before I sail? Trying to decide between select and saver fare. Thanks for any help
  3. I'm thinking of booking a 16 night cruise on Arcadia to Iceland this August. Does anyone have any tips / thoughts / advice they can give? With P&O I've cruised on Oriana and Britannia. We're likely to be a group of 3-4 ladies from the ages of 49 - 69. And, if there's only 3 of us can we have a balcony e.g. twin beds & sofabed? Thanks for any assistance
  4. @binman2 sorry to hear of your diagnosis; praying you get the required treatment soon
  5. I'm toying with the idea of a solo cruise, not sure what's holding me back but think I'll go for it soon!
  6. My parents (both late 70s) do not really do tech - my Mum can text and that's about it. They phone to book cruises etc & ask for a brochure to be sent with excursions. I can help them with some stuff but wouldn't be on the cruise to help them with apps to book restaurants / order food etc - Mum's mobile is very basic and is not a smart phone. They're due to cruise with Fred Olsen in May so I hope the staff will be on hand and patient
  7. @grapau27 Graham, so sorry to hear about Sarah. Praying for you, Pauline and Sarah
  8. My car reg includes WKD - just like the blue alco-pops drink! And the technical name for the car's colour is speedy blue!
  9. A trip across the water today, to The Mayflower Theatre in Southampton to see the Cher musical. Great day out with friends and lunch at The Mayflower Village
  10. thanks for the Nationwide info. I have a flex account which used to include free travel insurance. But a couple of years ago they discontinued the free travel insurance. I will definitely look at upgrading to a flexplus for the travel insurance and breakdown cover. I've not been away for approx 3 years so haven't needed travel insurance
  11. A lovely day here on the Isle of Wight, nice for it to be dry. I’m just home from a walk by the sea and will be relaxing with a book this afternoon. Back to work tomorrow
  12. Happy New Year! 🎉🎊🥳 I seldom post but love reading all your great posts and the community feeling of this thread. A couple of resolutions for me - one to post on here more and two to go on a cruise (it’s been too long - before the dreaded cannot be named!)
  13. Thanks for another fantastic blog, I've enjoyed following along. Best wishes for good healing to your shoulder
  14. looking forward to following your review; have a fabulous time
  15. What does a red dot on a cabin door mean? Have a great cruise!
  16. @laurieal I loved your previous review and loving this one too. I'm going to book Anthem for next year so your photos are bringing it to life for me now. Have a fabulous time
  17. @ReneeFLL I've just found your review and caught up on all the posts. Hope you have an amazing time!
  18. With P&O I have only cruised on Oriana and Britannia (I have also cruised with Royal Caribbean and the buffet there has been rammed on every cruise I’ve done) and that was before covid so things may be different now but I have struggled to get a table once I have a plate of food in hand. We don’t use the buffet in the evenings when I imagine it would be quieter
  19. when my friend and I cruise and use the buffet we get a table, one of us goes and gets their food, and then the other
  20. I don't have my heating on in the morning as there isn't enough time for the flat to warm up before I go to work. I'm going to try and hold out from putting the heating on until November and make do with extra layers and fleece blanket for TV viewing.
  21. Hi Diane, You can just turn up for breakfast in the dining room - look on the cruise compass app/ daily newsletter for dining room opening times as will be more limited than Windjammer buffet. Usually there's a buffet in one of the dining rooms (not the madness of the Windjammer) and a la carte breakfast in another dining room
