  1. @seadogthank you for such a spectacular and unique review - I have loved reading about your trip through the different meals and cocktails
  2. I planning to sail on Anthem next year so thanks for your great review. In the Solarium Bistro I understand there's no charge but do you have to book?
  3. @Josy1953 so sorry to hear of your troublesome clients at the vaccination centre - no-one should suffer abuse in any line of work and the fact that you're a volunteer makes it even more unfair
  4. If I sail from home (UK) my options are and have been limited - the biggest ship I've cruised on is Indy - as we don't have Oasis class here. My last couple of cruises have been with a different company but I'd like to try Anthem (she sails from the UK in the summer) or I'll have to fly somewhere
  5. I had my private flu jab at Boots yesterday. I originally booked it back in July (thanks to someone posting on this forum) for 19th September so I could pop out from work to go. Then it was the Queen's funeral on Monday, so when that date was known I went online to change my booking to Tuesday at 1.15 pm - perfect I thought as that's my lunch break. I went to Boots on Tuesday lunchtime to find a notice saying they're closed for flu jabs between 12.45 - 2.15 pm for lunch! I went to the pharmacy counter and was told I must have booked the wrong Boots store - no, I had the confirmation email. They did agree I could go in at 8.45 am on Wednesday and they would do it then. I went up to Boots on Wednesday and this time they couldn't find my booking health info (which you have to complete and pay for so they can vet if you're suitable) so I had to fill in a paper form. What a palaver but at least I've had my jab and now have to reclaim the £16.99 back from work
  6. I like to cruise for the ports rather than the facilities on the ship
  7. Just caught up and read all 16 pages of your blog! Thanks for taking the time to do it and have a wonderful rest of cruise
  8. It may be like the Platinum Jubilee this year, the Monday Bank Holiday was moved to later in the week and we had Thursday and Friday off work
  9. I've just caught up on your last 2 days on the cruise; thanks for your blog, a cruise to Alaska is definitely on my bucket list

  11. I have just found your review here and then followed the link to your amazing blog. What a fabulous holiday and thank you for sharing your thoughts and pictures
  12. there is such a problem with prescriptions at the moment. Mine are on a 2 month repeat - last time I had to ration some until Tesco text to say they were ready; this time I got in early with my repeat and have had to wait over a week for the "ready" text. Good luck and I hope you get them on time
  13. How long ago was this? This has never been my experience but I've only been cruising since 2010
  14. thanks for your review - it's good to hear about the differences

  16. @little britain the price I saw in the TA window was £690 for the 07/07/23 cruise
  17. I saw an advert yesterday in the travel agent's window for a cruise on Anthem departing 7th July 2023 from Southampton. I cannot see it on Royal's website - no departures from Southampton in July or anything on Anthem. Strange!!
  18. On the Isle of Wight today it's sunny and 22c - glad that heat has gone
  19. It was called "The Cruise" and was on Channel 5 in the UK
  20. I don't post often but I do like the lovely community feel with this thread and read the comments every day, please keep the posts and pictures coming
