  1. While they don't SAY "no surge protector", the safety features mentioned are physical construction (copper wire! not flammable!), and so it is said by not saying, no surge protection. So yes, they are fine. I bought one each for my family's cabins (only I think they were beige) on a group cruise to AK.
  2. The question is, do you need to access more than one device AT THE SAME TIME? If not, just one plan is enough. Or one plan with added device(s) can be bought. I think but do not know that Rotterdam will have StarLink by then (if it doesn't already). I believe there are only two levels after that happens (or maybe already fleet-wide?) -- the internet speed is the same, just more sites and apps are blocked on Surf vs Premium. Basically no moving pics on Surf!
  3. @gizmodog The lines (Princess and apparently Celebrity) that don't DISCOUNT guarantees are just leveeing the FEES on everyone. You do understand that, right?
  4. Can't think why this wouldn't be allowed -- the ban on bringing alcoholic beverages on board is not because they are liquid! not like the airlines.
  5. Definitely been around for as long as the HAL website has been friendly to passengers doing their own booking. I don't remember exactly what year I was looking at a Princess cruise (Coral Princess Panama Canal) but remember there was no savings to let them choose cabin -- I wondered who would do that!
  6. Have It All Cruise Package Details (See Terms and Conditions for further details) 6- to 9-Day Cruises (Excludes voyages less than 6 days long)
  7. You'd almost think they didn't want it readily available for the $1pp deposit sale.
  8. I was happy I had the one, but I did spend a while browsing 2024 Alaska/Pacific Coast sequences, trying to determine if there would be one "built" but not published on line for 2025. I did not find the one(s) I wanted. I did call my PCC back to see if she could "see" the Greenland-Iceland R/T Boston cruise we have in July 2024, for 2025. Even though it's not on the website -- like some AK cruises that people are saying their PCCs are booking. She could not, and that is where I learned the term "built" for a cruise that is finalized but not published.
  9. Yours and HAL's! They have not got the calendar right on the first try on any of the Hawaii-Tahiti So.Pac cruises that I've watched since 2020! Including the one I booked yesterday.
  10. Yes, you are much closer (very close) to the midship elevator bank! The FFs are all the way aft.
  11. Thanks for sharing your experience. Belated welcome to Cruise Critic, you have plunged right in to contributing! Happy sails.
  12. Koningsdam- 15-Feb-25- 35 day Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas crystalspin - back up for delayed retirement cruise (or maybe we'll do both!)
  13. Scroll down to the third page of the confirmation e-mail you got. There will be a column of your "perks", with Passenger "1,2" next to each. All are listed there EXCEPT , OBC, which is on first page in the money columns.
  14. Roy, I agree. I spent a few minutes looking at Alaska routes against a hopefully very distant time to scatter a still living family member and decided it would have to be a cruise that crossed the Bay of Alaska to be far enough from shore. ETA: That reads funny, I hope you all know what I meant!

  16. Early on, I booked a Holland America TransAtlantic from a mail-order travel agent which only sold by Category. When I realized that the smallest interior only had one small chair for sitting (in addition to the bed), I upgraded us to Oceanview for a loveseat and the chair. The room was fine, but it was under the nightclub!!! That was my last Guarantee. Even if it cost steep bucks. So check the location of the worst room you might get, not just its size on the deckplan.
  17. This^^^. We have eBags Slim Professionals in two sizes each, but they are like, half padding! Also weird organization where you really have to memorize where EVERYTHING is. I would have to check if the zippers were fragile-feeling... Maybe you had the same backpack! I will probably try to sell them on FB Marketplace to people with actual delicate electronics (not just travellers like us).
  18. My husband's bag finally came! It is maybe a little narrower than his shoulders as a backpack, but love all the organizing pockets etc. Here's the neatest thing (other than getting it for $16 off) -- when both are empty, the navy one fits inside the peachy one, which will store in a carryon suitcase, which COULD nest in our one 25" suitcase! It will be like the matryoshka doll of luggage!
  19. The 2025 Hawaii-Tahiti cruise IS included this time!
  20. How MUCH more vacation time do you have? Trying to get from Whittier to Denali and back to the airport in three days would be so tight it might not be any fun at all. (We took the northbound when it went to Seward, and spent TWO WEEKS making our way up to Denali, finally flying from Fairbanks bc when I made the arrangements, a volcano was causing Anchorage flights to be cancelled! and we needed to get back.)
  21. In 3391 you are in fact under the main kitchen and near one end of a sort of rail or tracks they roll carts down. (Noise travels through the cabin's ceiling even worse than through the floor.)
  22. I had a post removed for saying that Carnival was not a dressy as Cunard so it wasn't necessary to pack a tux or gowns. But it's still true!
  23. I think I would go with United if the flight number starts with UA... otherwise I think the computer would scramble its brain.
  24. Yes, I know, but I liked the term better!
