  1. I was referring to the NEW terminal which is TOTALLY different from the old warehouse πŸ™‚
  2. We've been very happy with Scootaround in Galveston.
  3. Haven't had any issues with arriving early in Galveston.
  4. Was hesitant to try the Allure, but had been trying since pre-Covid when she was supposed to come to Galveston and didn't want to decide I didn't like it without actually TRYING it πŸ™‚ After 7 nights I can say I don't LOVE it, but likewise don't HATE it. We booked 8 nights on Harmony for next year, so... Like several have said earlier in this post, it doesn't FEEL crowded as you might think 6,498 fellow passengers might be. EVERYTHING is scaled up from the smaller ships while still a (mostly) familiar layout, just expanded. Elevators are both more plentiful and MUCH larger than smaller ships. DW was using a scooter all week and I can count on one hand the number of times we had "elevator problems." Don't do pool deck, so loungers aren't an issue. πŸ™‚
  5. This is 3rd week in a row that Allure has been "oversold" We didn't like the options, so stuck with our original booking and had a great time. At least they removed the "unfortunate inventory error" verbiage they used on the others πŸ™‚
  6. We were on last week and Central Park was really depressing with mostly "empty" plant beds and some dead plants still. They've replaced some of the greenery, but still mostly missing. HOPEFULLY, they'll be able to get it back in shape soon. You didn't ask, but you'll also disembark from deck 5 when you return πŸ™‚
  7. We saw the show this week and I think it was great. Not a big fan of interpretive dance, but is was something to do πŸ˜ƒ
  8. I can confirm that Grandeur and Radiance did not and I used an old HDMI Miracast dongle I bought years ago for cruising.
  9. Never got one, but we ARE leaving on Allure on Sunday and will use it for you πŸ˜‰ if you'd like to share it.
  10. May 7th Allure is oversold as of yesterday. Got some offers to shift/cancel but none are good for us this time.
  11. I don't think that there are outlets anywhere but the desk. Request a cord and water. Easy peasy.
  12. We usually get off if it's a port we've never been to before, otherwise we enjoy having the run of a mostly vacant ship on port days πŸ™‚
  13. Purchased items show up early. Free or unpurchased items show up once you're onboard.
  14. I sent a request for our May 7th cruise on March 14th and got a confirmation email from Mona Gutierrez above an hour ago.
  15. I bought one of these yesterday and the app won't install from the Play Store, but I DID find a site that has the apk and it's working fine after downloading that. NOT an app issue, a Play Store issue 😞 YMMV - https://royal-caribbean-international.en.uptodown.com/android
  16. We heard from Capt Marek that several "internal" changes were planned for the drydock. Samba Grill (Brazilian Steakhouse) is coming out, not sure what to replace it. WiFi gear MAY get upgraded since they have Starlink up top, but legacy APs and switches below. Don't recall anything else he called out.
  17. We got off a 10 nighter a couple months ago and I had this experience for the first time EVER. Been on a dozen cruises and I'm not sure what caused it. We did have pretty much constant, gentle rolling motion on all the sea days that MAY have been a factor. That combined with the "seasonal" head/ear congestion MAY have been a factor. I didn't do anything about it and it eventually went away.
  18. In October, there was NOTHING to indicate the Key boarding area, and likewise when we got on the ship. Lugged our carryon all over the place, took it to lunch and finally got into the room "a little early" when one of the doors was open. We had a room right next to the fire door so I did a quick in/out to drop out bag. HOPEFULLY, they'll do a better job going forward. Didn't buy it for next month's cruise.
  19. Glad she's ok. You won't get anything from them if you don't ask. Worst they can say is "no".
  20. Yet another rule that seems to be selectively enforced 😞 We were on Radiance OTS in January and there were scooters parked (overnight) all over the place. NOT blocking the halls, but in the corners of the hall and in the Centrum "overlooks". YMMV
  21. IF she can ambulate from the parking/shuttle area to the terminal, you might want to consider renting a scooter on-board. She can get wheelchair assistance from the terminal onto the ship, get the scooter from her room and leave it there when she disembarks. Just a thought
  22. We used one last year with a standard (balcony) room and it was fine. We DID move the "coffee table" out onto the balcony (at the advice of the stateroom attendant) so we'd have room to do a 180 in the room. It's WAY easier to go forward through the door coming and going. We had room for one of us to sit on the loveseat with the scooter out of the way. You can reach out to special_needs@rccl,com and they can help you with specifics for the ship/room she'll be in. We rented from Scootaround and their "standard" scooter is 21" wide and fits just fine in NON-Accessible rooms. If she has assistance opening the door, etc, she can probably get by with a standard room. Accessible rooms (may?) have electric openers and be laid out with more room to navigate, especially the bathrooom.
