  1. The dockworker that takes your bag will have blank ones you can quickly fill out.
  2. Side doesn't matter, unless you are one of the few ships actually docking in Venice.
  3. Cartagena is covered here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/391-colombia/
  4. You can ask, but it will be at rack rate, not discounted. There is frequently a sign at the Guest Services desk stating there are no upgrades available. It is a common question.
  5. There is no magic time for when upsells, which are done before upgrades, occur.
  6. There is no one time for upsells (first, before upgrades) and as mentioned, it ALWAYS depends on how the cruise is selling.
  7. Correct. I wouldn't expect any specialty beers on that fantastic sounding cruise. Never heard of them accepting requests for specialty beers to be put on board.
  8. The assigned dock won't be public until 2-3 weeks in advance. I assume "NSD" is some new abbreviation for N. Statendam?
  9. But, you are sailing out of Vancouver, a Canadian port. That eliminates the PVSA (not Jones Act)issues, which about sailing between US ports. Sorry, your TA is wrong.
  10. When I say NCL stops at two ports on Hawaii, I am referring to the Island of Hawaii, not the state of Hawaii. Did you actually sail on Pride of America?
  11. More economical? I doubt it, but check to see what shuttle services there. Most don't serve MIA out of Ft Lauderdale. Frequently mentioned here are QLS, SAS, Jiffy Jeff and GO Shuttle.
  12. A little misleading here...there are 4 islands that cruise ships can go to...Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. Most cruise lines stop at all 4. NCL starts and ends at Oahu, so, unless you arrive early, or stay beyond your cruise, you aren't "visiting Oahu" on your cruise. NCL doesn't stop at any more islands than most other cruise lines. Yes, occasionally, some cruises only stop at 3 islands. Most cruise lines stop at one port on Hawaii, NCL stops at two.
  13. To be honest, the easiest and least expensive route is just hotel shuttle and cab, rather that Carnival transportation.
  14. Your plan sounds fine. I would choose touring the Missouri over the aviation museum. Much better, particularly if you get one of the deeper guided tours.
  15. Just carry your bags off and get the first cab you can. As mentioned here frequently, there will be tons of them. The RCI mega ships usually start disembarking by 6:30.
  16. Not sure why you posted twice...30 minutes apart. If you look down the board, there are several discussions about going to the Malecon...it is a frequent topic. Its walkable, but a healthy walk. Most people suggest a taxi, or, I believe there is a shuttle bus of some type, It is safe.
  17. Thanks for searching here. Did you Google search for Stockholm ferry schedules?
  18. If they do, they do. Not anything you can do about it. Have never heard of passports not being held for citizens of some countries, but not others.
  19. Pretty sure Verizon's International plan doesn't include cruise coverage. That is a different category of coverage in most cases.
  20. There are many complexities here. Some have to do with the very cheap and severely restricted fare that you will get through Flight Ease. Second is when the seats are actually ticketed...which is why Delta told you to work through Flight Ease. No, it is NOT silly for HAL to want to cancel and rebook. It may be required to get you a fare that is upgradeable. These things are commonly discussed on the Cruise Air board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/77-cruise-air/
  21. Generally, HAL has a service of some type every day by traveling priests/ministers. A common time is 5pm, but can vary by day and cruise.
  22. There have been a couple of discussions about this. It appears to be a tax issue, and NCL doesn't want to charge and collect the taxes. Other cruise lines seem to be eating the taxes. Other countries do a number of similar things. Canada only allows one bar per deck to be open.
  23. Very little to do in port on HAL. I might lean a bit towards Rotterdam because of more eateries and the cabanas. Other than that, not too much difference to hanging around in port.
