  1. OK, yesterday wouldn't affect today, unless the same problem arose today. Maybe Immigration, but would need to be a pretty significant delay. Hopefully @Ferry Watcher will tell us. I don't think Seattle has any tidal or similar issues that might have caused some delays.
  2. If they were having problems, Immigration would be the issue, not Customs. But they aren't sailing immediately to a foreign port, so I seriously doubt that is the problem. I would more suspect an airline or flight issue that may have delayed a number of pax.
  3. Heck, checking a bag on a non-stop is no guarantee they will arrive with you!!
  4. Looking on Google Maps, or searching there (" Cruise Ship Terminal, Bergen" for example) will get you a lot of info. Many, probably most, docks in that area are right in town.
  5. Vancouver has always been a cluster. Part of the problem is the process of going through US Immigration and Customs before boarding.
  6. Have been to Europe 10 or 12 times. We travel with two US credit cards, one with a PIN, one without. One time, in all those trips, have we been required to use the card with a PIN, and that was at a train station ticket vending machine. Nowhere else. Will be arriving at AMS is 5 weeks, and taking a train to AMS city. We were in Copenhagen last July. Nowhere required a PIN. None even asked about a PIN. It seems the US credit cards still indicate to card readers that a PIN is not required. This winter I upgraded our main credit to "tapable" and no foreign transaction fees, and the process didn't offer the chance to get a PIN.
  7. Those 3 ports are the most common ports on the Mexican Rivera (and have dozens of discussions on them on this board), but there are 4 or 5 additional ports in the area you could be stopping at. We are on a 14 day Mexican Rivera cruise next March that stops at 6 or 7 ports in Mexico.
  8. OK, check in time (not boarding). Doubt you will be able to board before 11:30. They are racing to get the cabins ready for 11:30 boarding. Hopefully this part of a return to clear "Priority " boarding for Suites, 4 and 5 star Mariners, like previous to Covid. They have been putting "Priority " on boarding passes for those groups, but not consistently.
  9. Plus there is lots of bike lanes on both sides of the Bridge and it's approaches. Hundreds of people bike the bridge each day. Just crossed the bridge today...in a 5 minute car crossing, saw 30 or 40 people crossing on bikes.
  10. I expect the ship will have the same policy anywhere they do cruises, which should be something like every is off no later than 9:30. They need to prepare the cabins for the next passengers.
  11. @Laminator, 10am boarding is too early by HAL procedures. Not sure check in even starts that early.
  12. Sailing from San Diego to Seattle is illegal under the PVSA.
  13. @OlsSalt, US credit cards are set to not require PIN numbers. Most European vendors knowthis.
  14. Agree. Pretty sure DL flies TO South America, but doesn't fly WITHIN South America.
  15. There can be significant fees for cash advances on a regular credit card. Cash advances are usually our very last option to be considered.
  16. When was this? We land at AMS next month, and will be taking train to Amsterdam Centraale station. Figured on just buying train tickets ( a little over 5 euros pp) using credit card. We will bring euros from home, but not exact change.
  17. AT&T includes cell and data in Canada as if it was in the US in most their plans. Thus you can use your phones in Canada without any extra charge. We have used our AT&T phones in Canada (and in Mexico) without any special plan or extra cost.
  18. The point is, on a HAL ship, if you turn on the WiFi on your device, you connect to the INTRANET, which allows you to see menus, daily schedules, book excursions and restaurants, etc. But, without an purchased internet plan, you go no further.
  19. No, WiFi is simply a radio frequency that takes you to a router/server. You need to have internet access from that router/server, which means an internet plan, costing money, on a ship, in some hotels and other businesses.
  20. Not sure that is true. You would need to access the internet to be able to text anywhere in the world, which on a ship would require an internet plan.
  21. First of all, who is your cell phone carrier? Many vendors now include cell coverage in Mexico and Canada with their standard US plans.
  22. A quick search around the board:
  23. As frequently discussed here, you can arrive at the pier at any time within the boarding window...as early as 11am. The boarding time assignment is just a suggestion.
  24. Thank you for the clarification...it was MTY in Mexico!!
