  1. The pictures I saw were of a good slipping of the hillside, not just some debris falling from the hillside. I would say we could be looking at a month or more. They have a bus bridge in place, I am pretty sure.
  2. Agree, it's probably 6. Also think the the 14 day menu rotation will be the plan.
  3. No, I wouldn't say Europe is slow. We need more details (where are you flying to and from, airline, for example) to give a fully detailed answer. 90 days out is a good distance out, so hard to get a good read. I am 45 days out from flying SFO-AMS on UA, and from what you can see on the seat map (which is FAR from the most accurate source), our flights are 85-90% full.
  4. @Vandelay Inc, tomorrow is the first HAL Alaska cruise of this season, I am pretty sure. So it will be a little bit before you see this year's info.
  5. You can make an 11:50 if there are no hitches. You need to be off as early as possible, and I would be carrying my bags and grabbing a cab. Its not really treated as an international flight, so 2 hours in advance is plenty. I would say the chances are pretty solid.
  6. In July 2022, our room stewards took care of restocking our room minibar.
  7. They had Navigator in 2018? I don't remember it from our last pre-Covid cruise in 2019. Anyway, they have been upgrading it about every other month, sometimes more frequently.
  8. Another thread on the front page of the board discussing the same topic:
  9. Not true. Just booked Canaletto on line for September, no problem.
  10. Yes, they encouraged us to use Verifly, but it wasn't required and didn't hinder us in any way as we didn't have it. And this was 3 cruises in 2022, when there were more requirements and procedures to board.
  11. Just a ride back and forth from Livorno to Florence, or touring? Check out Rome in Limo.
  12. A particular port? Have you looked around at the many threads on each port?
  13. @xlxo, the hotel you mention has been downgraded. Its only the Parc 55.
  14. They will close the midship roof and heat that pool as needed.
  15. It is quite warm in most places where you will go. The main part of the park is not that high.
  16. Depends on your tastes. Some people like the small ships. Some like the large ships. One thought occasionallymentioned here...book the one that sails on a weekday. There might be smaller crowds in the ports.
  17. It's considered a 14 day cruise for the stock owner's OBC. The turn-around day has been explained here many times. The current policy is you appear at a designated spot ( typically the main lounge) at a designated time, usually between 9 and 9:30. When the Immigration folks are ready, you go off the ship as a group and show your passport in the Terminal. When the ship has zero-ed, you are allowed back on.
  18. I think you wanted to post here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/149-other-mediterranean-ports/
  19. This is better posted in Cruise Air, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/77-cruise-air/ As a long time United flyer, my bias goes there. But in general, for the domestic flight, I wouldn't worry too much about Economy vs Economy Plus, unless money was no object. Certainly, for the international flight I would be seeking highest level cabin I could swing.
  20. If you read around the board, you will see many threads on your topics. Airport to pier is 30-40 minutes, sometimes a little more with traffic. Rare for any downturn hotels to have shuttles. But virtually all Airport area hotels have shuttles. There are hop on, hop off buses in town, but not near the airport.
  21. I have not heard of a cruise line excursion where the length of time as described doesn't mean from departure from the ship to return to the ship. So a 9 hour tour might depart the ship at 8am, returning at 5pm. We don't know what time you are in Livorno, but I would expect a 9 hour tour to be one of the first one off the ship. Trains are pretty reliable, to very reliable in most all of Europe. However, in a day where you have limited time in a port, arriving for and waiting for trains eats into your touring times. So, while trains are a very good way to tour, for a more complicated excursion like this ship's excursion, or much more efficiently, a private excursion, is probably the way to go in your situation.
  22. And that is a key point to probably half the questions on Cruise Critic. And, in many cases, people who don't know the poster are supposed to know what the "best" is for that poster. Or what is "reasonable".
