  1. Well, I know the very best cabin, but it’s not gonna happen for me… Our first Celebrity cruise in 2002 was in a Summit Penthouse suite—a special one-time treat. If I had the choice of any cabin in the entire Celebrity fleet (including the fancy-pants Iconic suite) I’d choose a Millenium class PH because of the fabulous balcony. What can I say, I’m a balcony gal. I know I can place a Move-Up bid, but considering my perfect record of never ever winning a bid, not holding my breath.
  2. I’m in 6134. Almost neighbors! If there’s shade on my balcony that’s where I’ll be, with my Trusty Kindle and an adult beverage.🍸
  3. Once a bartender at the World Class Bar was playing “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
  4. A shady spot on Deck 4 sounds like a fine idea. I remember nice viewing aft, must have been on Mercury. I’ll be on Summit April 2025 following the shade. Wonder if an umbrella would help. But I think the one provided in the cabin is kinda dinky. I’m packing electrolyte packets.
  5. I’ve maintained a perfect record of never winning a MoveUp bid. Some bids were cheapo, some were (I thought) very generous. Have always received my “Get lost, loser!” emails two days before sailing.
  6. I actually love long cruises with lotsa sea days. (TAs!) And considered adding the next leg or two. Decided that would give my financial guy a frowny face.
  7. Jim, complimenting your gorgeous photos is most certainly not “undeserved praise.” I was taken aback when you decided to walk up the mountain instead of riding on a cart. Please take care of yourself.
  8. Thanks again for your fun, informative review. Exciting that you have so many cruises booked! I’ll follow all your adventures whatever the ship or itinerary. Will be great.
  9. Just found your “Live from” report. Yay! And thanks so much for writing it. I know it’s a lot of work and I appreciate it.
  10. Woo hoo! I’m in! 🍾🥂🚢 And tacking on the 7 day Eastern Caribbean before this one. Happy camper! 😎
  11. Thanks. Have sailed each direction on Mercury and Infinity. Millie was one of my cancelled cruises. DH had to talk me into the first one. Didn’t see what the big deal was. Now I get it, 😎
  12. Hope one of these will work for me. Only interested in full-transit. Emailed my TA but office is closed so waiting with bated breath. I’ll decide tomorrow. Hope 4th time is the charm. I’ve had 3 of my Panama Canal bookings cancelled.
  13. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to post your fabulous report and pictures. Couldn’t do it myself. 1) I’m too lazy. 2) My favorite “activity” is reading on my balcony. Not exactly interesting to others. (Have never been to a show.) It’s a shame Sky Suites have once again become the red-headed stepchild of suites. Thanks for pointing out the issues. Looking forward to your next adventure!
  14. I actually prefer Uber. Many trips for me, only one problematic. Years ago DH and I always took the hotel shuttle from Embassy Suites. Was fun chatting with fellow cruisers heading to the terminal. Last time I took the shuttle no one would talk to me, the driver made me get out at every stop to make sure my luggage wasn’t taken off by mistake (?!) and my ship was the last stop. Took forever. No more shuttle for me.
  15. On my most recent trip from the hotel to Port Everglades my Uber driver first headed to the port parking garage, then got mad when I wouldn’t let him drop me off at the wrong ship. Guess I’m picky.
  16. No Luggage Valet for my Nov. 2 Reflection cruise. Would be nice if they added Silhouette for my February cruises. Southwest’s curbside check-in let my 52# suitcase slide by. Can’t trust my luggage scale. My butler offered me the use of his luggage scale which turned out to be him hefting the suitcases and declaring both well under 50#. Nope.
  17. So sorry for your loss. Agree that cruises are healing. I too lost DH suddenly (given 3-6 months, gone in 3 weeks). There’s just something about cruises that indeed bring peace. Still true for me even 10 years later.
  18. So rude to take more than one book at a time! Bringing books to donate on my Nov. 2 Reflection cruise. Think I’ll wait a couple days to bring them to the library.
  19. Yay! So excited for a new Charla adventure! 🥂🍾🍸🚢 And Happy Birthday to Jeremy!
  20. OK, my breakfast delivered by the butler has always been from the door hanger menu. I did have one complication years ago. Ordered Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. They forgot the eggs. 😂
  21. In my 2023 RS cruises I’ve had unlimited laundry. (Confirmed with the butler at the beginning of each cruise. Could indeed be a “rule” stretch.) Apparently the 2x rule started when some abused the laundry amenity by including laundry from friends in other cabins. Back to Sky Suites: Not knowing when room service will arrive (promptly or 30-45 min) is inconvenient when I need to be on time for a shore excursion. Breakfast from the butler has always been on time.
