  1. I did mention the loud music to one of the white shirts working the Lido area. He told me that they have to consider all passengers' desires. I said with just 5 or 6 people outside for breakfast at 7 am most didn't want loud noise and without the crowd to absorb sound it was loud. There were a few times the volume was lowered but not most of the time.

Don't get me wrong.  I happen to love music.  I do not like what should be background music assailing my brain everywhere I go.  I've come close to walking out of grocery stores, leaving my cart in the middle of an aisle, just to try to escape the totally unnecessary music being blasted.  Please, just stop.

I so agree. We got off the Eurodam on the 14th. I've mentioned before that our favorite place to eat breakfast and lunch is outside near the SeaView pool. I don't need loud music at 7 am. And I have walked out of stores before because of the music. Funny to watch the stunned look on a clerk's face when you tell them the music is too loud and you're leaving. Background music it's not!

  3. We were on the Eurodam for the TA ending Nov. 14. A number of crew members were in quarantine on Deck 4 and the rest of the crew were having to cover for them. The 2nd Executive Chef was making omelets a couple of mornings and I've never seen so many white shirts with gold braid clear tables. So even with crew and passengers fully vaccinated the virus does spread. At one point the rumor was over 40 were unavailable for work.

  4. You all have hit one of my pet peeves. We love to eat breakfast out on the back deck near the SeaView pool. Why do we need loud music at 7 am? It certainly isn't background music. We just got off the Eurodam this past week and I spoke with one officer and was told they need to take everyone's wishes into consideration. I told him there were usually 3 or 4 people out there for early breakfast and most all were there to enjoy the scenery and peacefulness. The volume did go down for a couple of days.

  5. Finally getting caught up with the time changes after getting off the Eurodam Sunday. But then another 3 hour change when we head home from our son's house near Atlanta. Not looking forward to the wild PNW weather after a wonderful Atlantic crossing. Wearing masks became such a habit I'd forget to take it off when I got back to our cabin. Menus could use some help but still a great cruise. It was interesting that we didn't have to show our Covid test results going through Customs. I guess the ship wouldn't have let us off if we weren't negative.  Stay well everyone.

  6. Do you actually get a live person when connected? A couple of different companies I've tried to contact with Chat end up having an automated response and I end up going in circles until I realize I'm not talking to a real person. Frustrating!

  7. About 75 hours from now we'll be boarding our flight to Barcelona through London and then boarding the Eurodam on the 30th. Can't believe it's really happening!  We flew into Adelaide once to board a Greyhound bus for an 11 hour trip to Coober Pedy to see the opal mines. Looking back it may have been a crazy thing to do.😊

  8. @Seasick SailorI think we're twins-except I'm 5 years ahead of you.  Tomorrow to celebrate I'm treating myself to an epidural injection for the disk that's causing pain in my leg 🙁. But we leave for Barcelona a week from today so I want to be ready for all those cruise activities. Packing is almost complete but the last minute reminder list is getting longer so hope there's room for everything.

    Have a great week everyone.

  9. I laugh when I say I haven't gotten far in life. We're living in the house my parents built 2 years before I was born. I do have the bigger bedroom now though. So my old bedroom has had my daughter and now her daughter is living with us and using it (along with her cat and rabbits).

I think we've replaced just about everything so who knows what will go next.
