Thanks-I appreciate the information. It will be about 5 months after the hip replacement so I plan on quite a few taxi rides. 😊

Got tired and got a taxi back. This time we went to the right place for the taxi and didn’t get ripped off.
Terri
We will be there in November. Would you mind sharing the right place (and the wrong place) for the taxi? Thanks!

Did you book directly with Princess or through a TA? I think I would call whoever I booked with to see if it's now possible to book a specific cabin. Have a list of cabins you're interested in handy.

@ArkansasTraveler2I have a friend that uses Quick Shuttle from the Bellingham airport to the Vancouver airport. I think they also go to the port.

Checking prices on Princess for flights-how do you do that? I was curious and just went to their website and when I tried all I got was a notice to log into my personalizer. What's the secret? Thanks.

Jacqui, I join others to say how sorry I am to hear this news. I feel very fortunate to have met Jose and spend time on tours together. Please take care. Susie & Loren

My question is if the $200 OBC showing on my account is from the cancelled Volendam cruise. We couldn't rebook the replacement cruise because of my June hip replacement surgery. The expiration date is Nov. 5, 2022. We did book the same itinerary for next May so would like the OBC for that. Guess I'll need to make a call to see if it can be extended.

@Lady HudsonDistressing for DH that his sister cannot remember who has visited and who has not. Would it reassure them to have a small guest book that people could sign with date and time as a reference?

@StLouisCruisersI'd love to know your impressions of Island Princess when you return from your cruise. We're doing a B2B Nov/Dec-TA from Rome and then partial Panama Canal. I am going to miss the Interntional Cafe.

Do any of you who receive casino offers book through the big box store travel agency? I'm wondering if that's why I've never received an offer. We generally cruise at least twice a year on longer cruises and spend a few hundred $ in the casino-not a lot but more than just a bit. Thanks!

We're booked on the Sept. 17, 2023 14-day cruise. A long wait............

While heading to Seattle this morning for an appointment I saw a cruise ship enter Elliott Bay. Then on the way home a Carnival ship was anchored (?) between the bay and Blake Island. Not sure if both sightings were the same ship or 2 different ones. But good to see them arrive for the season.
I will 2nd the wonderful food trucks in Papeete. I had a wonderful lemon crepe and Loren had a sardine one-ew!
I have a recipe for seasoned pretzels similar to Dot's. I have to put the bag away after they've mellowed because they're so addictive-I can't quit eating them.

As for luggage transfer, my guess is that it would make it. Alaska has their 20 minute guarantee for bags to be at the carousel so I think the transfer is likely. Only once (in Denver) after many Alaska flights has my bag not been there within 20 minutes. And generally your documents are reviewed at check-in so hopefully not a lot to do in Seattle. 800-AlaskaAir is their customer service phone number.

Sounds like you need at least a little higher heel than flat sneakers but maybe not stilettos? 😄

@kochleffelWhen I strained my Achilles the therapist gave me exercises which were somewhat painful. Then a friend who had gone through the same thing said to wear shoes with a heel at least 1 1/2" high. Within in a week I was pain free.
@StLouisCruisersThe other day when you mentioned your numb skull it reminded me of my father and I had to laugh. Whenever I did something dumb he'd call me a numbskull.

It sounds like we're in the minority weatherwise. It's been a sunny, calm day after a bit of morning drizzle. The dandelions are enjoying the sun too! And I'm doing the happy dance-sort of. After waiting for several months for a date for hip replacement surgery I received a phone call yesterday asking me if I still wanted a June date that showed up on the cancellation list. Yes-really didn't want to wait until July or August. Was sad when our May Volendam cruise was cancelled but probably the best for me even though I was ready to limp through Norway.

We were scheduled to be in one of these 2 cabins with friends in the other for next month but.........cruise cancelled. (They had this cabin on another cruise and we visited them-I liked the layout and location.) On a sister ship there were loungers and it was a quick trip up the stairs to the Lido. It was going to be perfect. Oh well, perhaps on another trip.

My cruise was cancelled by HAL-Volundam being used as a refugee hotel in Rotterdam so insurance wasn't an issue. But it was paid in full and I could only transfer funds if the new cruise was this year. My replacement cruise (same itinerary) is next May so had to pay the $1200 deposit. I'm still waiting for my refund although excursions were refunded promptly.

What transfer company did you book with? Thanks!

We stayed at the hotel that is connected to the airport several years ago. We took a taxi to the hotel when we got off the ship thinking that we'd store our luggage-but they had a room ready for us! We dropped our luggage and then went back to the train station that's 1 level down from the airport lobby (down the escalator) and went to Malmo, Sweden. It was a fun way to spend the day.

@dfishGood luck with all the necessary pre-op appts in such a short time. I think mine are finally arranged for the hip replacement June 8.
