  1. My question is if the $200 OBC showing on my account is from the cancelled Volendam cruise. We couldn't rebook the replacement cruise because of my June hip replacement surgery. The expiration date is Nov. 5, 2022. We did book the same itinerary for next May so would like the OBC for that. Guess I'll need to make a call to see if it can be extended.

  2. While heading to Seattle this morning for an appointment I saw a cruise ship enter Elliott Bay. Then on the way home a Carnival ship was anchored (?) between the bay and Blake Island. Not sure if both sightings were the same ship or 2 different ones. But good to see them arrive for the season.

I will 2nd the wonderful food trucks in Papeete. I had a wonderful lemon crepe and Loren had a sardine one-ew!

I have a recipe for seasoned pretzels similar to Dot's. I have to put the bag away after they've mellowed because they're so addictive-I can't quit eating them.

  3. As for luggage transfer, my guess is that it would make it. Alaska has their 20 minute guarantee for bags to be at the carousel so I think the transfer is likely. Only once (in Denver) after many Alaska flights has my bag not been there within 20 minutes. And generally your documents are reviewed at check-in so hopefully not a lot to do in Seattle.  800-AlaskaAir is their customer service phone number.

  4. It sounds like we're in the minority weatherwise. It's been a sunny, calm day after a bit of morning drizzle. The dandelions are enjoying the sun too!  And I'm doing the happy dance-sort of. After waiting for several months for a date for hip replacement surgery I received a phone call yesterday asking me if I still wanted a June date that showed up on the cancellation list. Yes-really didn't want to wait until July or August. Was sad when our May Volendam cruise was cancelled but probably the best for me even though I was ready to limp through Norway.

  5. We were scheduled to be in one of these 2 cabins with friends in the other for next month but.........cruise cancelled. (They had this cabin on another cruise and we visited them-I liked the layout and location.) On a sister ship there were loungers and it was a quick trip up the stairs to the Lido. It was going to be perfect. Oh well, perhaps on another trip.

  6. My cruise was cancelled by HAL-Volundam being used as a refugee hotel in Rotterdam so insurance wasn't an issue. But it was paid in full and I could only transfer funds if the new cruise was this year. My replacement cruise (same itinerary) is next May so had to pay the $1200 deposit. I'm still waiting for my refund although excursions were refunded promptly.

  7. We stayed at the hotel that is connected to the airport several years ago. We took a taxi to the hotel when we got off the ship thinking that we'd store our luggage-but they had a room ready for us! We dropped our luggage and then went back to the train station that's 1 level down from the airport lobby (down the escalator) and went to Malmo, Sweden. It was a fun way to spend the day.
