  1. I don't like that, but went with a single balcony on Aurora Only 2 on D deck aft so it'll be one of those. I'm also on Aurora next.month, booked ages ago a d went for B deck deluxe balcony, only about 12 of them so know where I'll be even thnot yet allocated.
  2. Just reserved Northern Lights March 27; some ports I haven't visited. Like a couple of the long ones but on the World Cruise in 26 so most ports covered.
  3. Wow, how things have changed. When our daughter was 7 she was allowed to sleep on her own in the next door (not interconecting) cabin on Aurora. Elf n safety has gone mad.
  4. Been on 36 cruises, mostly with P and O. Wash my hands regularly, never caught anything.
  5. This cruise is cheap for Aurora. I'm on it, got an amazing solo price on an early saver for a deluxe balcony, not allocated yet but I know where they all are and happy with any. I booked about 18 months ago. It IS shoulder season which can mean rough in the Bay of Biscay, but as a good sailor that doesn't worry me. Aurora is exceptionally stable in rough seas.
  6. I wouldn't. I used to cruise with Silversea before the Great Lunacy. Their standards have fallen much more, to the extent that I now consider good old P and O better value for money: I book a suite or similar, eat at the speciality restaurants, and get a good deal.
  7. I visited Kirkwall on the Spirit 2 years ago and there was a frequent shuttle into town.
  8. My friend and I are booked for the world cruise in 2026. Don't expect the facilities of Iona. Just comfort.
  9. You have got a really good cabin. My favourite on Aurora is A197, I've booked it 4 times, and you are 3 doors down. It's handy for everything, quite near lifts, and apart from occasional furniture scraping but not too early or late, it's quiet.
  10. I'm a drinker, NEVER had covid. I think that's the reason. Even slept in same bed as someone with covid; never got it. The WHO needs my antibodies.
  11. Makes me very glad to have an aft suite on Arvia next April. Retreat booked up, but given the balcony size I shan't need it.
  12. I'm tempted to take extra hot sauce to Sindhu these days. Despite my telling them that I like spicy food, it's too bland for me.
  13. At Haugesund I took the panoramic trip which has a stop on the coast and another right up in the mountains. I ignored the guide blathering on about WW2 and just took in the views and did photos. The mountain road is a bit hairy going up, ok coming down.
  14. As long as they don't sing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. We hate that so much. My daughter and I sang the rude version last time we were on Aurora. It was a big choir so we got away with it. Your selection sounds nice and might tempt me back to the choir.
  15. I was a P and O girl from the 1990s when it was a decent line. Before 2020 I took the step up to Silversea to avoid the behemoth ships and loved it. The 2 cruises I've done since the pandemic slightly disappointed me and made me wonder if the price tag was worth it. I still do some cruises on P and O adult only ships Aurora and Arcadia but am looking at Regent and Seabourne for the future.
  16. It was a very nice sit down lunch on my 2 back to backs on 10th and 24th May.
  17. Got a bottle in Home Bargains yesterday.
  18. If you want a deck 9 one then you have to book select, or you may be allocated deck 8. I was told that when booking onboard. The second time I booked, also onboard, I just asked if the same deck 9 cabin was available. It was.
  19. Grand Harbour is more expensive but the rooms are extremely comfortable and the breakfast has a wider choice. A glass of wine or a gin and tonic costs more too, but hey, you're about to get on a cruise. It's fun to use the Glass lift on embarkation morning and see your ship waiting.
  20. 22nd November? I'm on that one too. Love Aurora, not been on her since 2019. Can't wait.
  21. I did the bookings for the 2nd cruise in the Leonardo Grand Harbour, just before I got on the first cruise.
  22. Both available on Britannia 2 or 3 weeks ago; silk and spice is my favourite.
  23. I don't do phone calls because of a disability, so when this happened to me I emailed P and O, explaining that I can't phone. They gave me the 28 day caper, so I raised a dispute with my bank and got the money refunded within 3 days. P and O later apologised by email after they had investigated. Always use a credit rather than debit card, as it's the quickest way to get your money back, and can all be done online.
