The thing we didn’t like about the Sun OS is that it only has a forward balcony, though it’s nice with a shallow hot tub. We love to have a side balcony, along with a front facing balcony, because if it’s rainy or if you’re at sea in a stiff wind there is still a good place to sit outside and enjoy the ocean smell/sound.

We always tip our tour guides, even in Europe. For instance, in Norway our tour guide was an Italian college student working in Norway for the summer. She did a good job, and yes..... she deserved and appreciated a tip.

Geezer, the Spirit has a Forward Facing "Deluxe Penthouse Suite with Large Balcony" that also has a front and side balcony. A big draw for us was that it has 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, as do the OS on the Jewel and Dawn Class ships. We have sailed suites with 2 balconies (forward and side) with 1 & 1/2 baths on the Star, Dawn, Gem, Jewel, Jade, Pearl, and Spirit. These accommodations checked all our favourite boxes.

The foreign currency even comes in handy for tipping your tour guides....

One carton per Gold Lattitudes member should be in your cabin when you board. It is a 1/2 later carton. The ones you order are 1 liter.

But isn't there a restricted number of hours the casino is open? My first visit on the horizon. After 9pm, etc.?

You also get a percentage (10, 15, or 20% off) if you have at least 20 Lattitude points.

I am trying to remember which way to book our excursions, in order to get our Lattitudes discount. Sometimes I have called a special phone number, but can’t remember whether I can just get the discount by logging in and putting them in my cart on my own. How is this working now (sailed twice last year, you’d think I would remember how I did it)?

Reading through some of the info on the gotobermuda.com site, is it necessary to go online and fill out the Bermuda Arrival Card if you are arriving by cruise ship?

One of the things we love about cruising is waking up to a different view all the time. Turning the ship would be great!!! Thank you Clark, we will have to send a "passenger request" to the bridge if we get bored with our view 🤣

I was looking for up-to-date reviews for a restaurant in Bar Harbor, near the Town Pier, we visited in 2014. I saw that several restaurants near the pier are "temporarily closed". This tells me that Bar Harbor is probably having an issue finding people to work, like every other city or town. Perhaps they can't accommodate cruise ships as in the past. Just a thought.

We are on the 10/13-20 cruise on the Gem out of Boston. The only port that does not show any NCL tours for purchase currently is Portand, Maine. Hoping they don't substitute New York. Hope to be able to visit Bar Harbon one more time as well. At least Bar Harbor does show excursions to be available.

I looked up Sixthman cruises, October 13-20 on the Pearl does not come up on the schedule. We are also booked on that cruise, so it caught my attention.

Just order a bottle of wine with lunch, or dinner another night, and don't open it. Bring it back to your room to drink. We do that often with our included Lattitudes bottle of wine.

Hubby came up with the positive perspective on this. "At least we won't have to watch the video 19 times prior to sailing"😆

We try to enjoy lots of different drinks onboard, since we always have the package, but our really favourite TREAT is the Bushwacker. The best ones we've had are on the ships that have an O'Sheehans. The Epic and Dawn had GREAT Bushwackers when we were aboard. Amaretto, Baileys, Kailua, Stohli's Vanilla Vodka and more made frozen in the consistency of a milkshake. We got in the habit of having one right after lunch.

Has anyone seen Fresca available as a mixer, now that we are (finally) using Coke products?

We cancelled a pre-booked excursion on our September Alaska cruise. When I went down to service desk to get my cash refunded, they told me I would have to wait until the last full day of the cruise to get the cash back. Best to try to make time the afternoon or evening before disembarkation to go get your $$.

We are looking at a mid-April cruise on the Gem, wondering if there is a “normal” side of the ship that faces the dock/town side at that location, that time of year. Trying to decide whether to book starboard or port.
